Big sound from the "Mini Mo"

We're big fans of the original Sennheiser Momentum headphones. So we were excited to find out that these sharp-looking, sweet-sounding headphones are now available in an on-ear version. With new colors, a lower price, and the same sound signature as its big brother, the "Mini Mo" is sure to attract a lot of attention.

Like the originals, the Momentum On-Ear is built for comfort, durability, and, most of all, sound that reaches out and grabs you. The headband and earcups feature a super-soft Alcantara® covering — think suede, only softer. You can wear these headphones for long periods without fatigue. That will give you plenty of time to discover how the tight, punchy bass and up-front sound can make familiar tunes sound more lively and engaging.

Three-button remote for Apple® devices

When you're out and about, why not keep your iPhone® or iPod® in your pocket or bag? You'll still maintain control, thanks to the Momentum's remote cable. The 3-button remote lets you play and pause music, skip between tracks and control the volume. A built-in microphone on the remote lets you take calls on your iPhone, while the remote lets you answer calls and hang up. The Momentum's low impedance ensures these headphones are easily driven by your mobile device, for great sound wherever you go.

Features

Overview: The Sennheiser Momentum Supra headphones are stylish, high-quality on-ear headphones. They are lightweight and comfortable, with durable metal construction on the earcup and earcup sliders. The ear pads are covered in Alcantara, a soft, durable suede-like material. The Momentum Supra headphones give you high-performance audio reproduction with rich, detailed sound. The Momentum Supra comes with a soft zippered storage pouch.

Design: The Momentum Supra has a closed-back, supra-aural (on-ear) design which isolates much of the background noise. The headphones are equipped with high-performance neodymium magnets. The impedance is lowered to 18 ohms so it will play portable devices at high volumes without overdriving the device's tiny amp.

Included Cables: The Momentum Supra headphones are equipped with two exchangeable 55" audio cables, both with 3.5mm plugs. One cable is equipped with a right-angled plug and an in-line remote/microphone. The other has a straight plug, but no remote. The cables connect to the left earcup via a 2.5mm sub-mini plug that twist-locks in place to prevent accidental disconnection. The included 3.5mm-to-1/4" plug adapter can be used with either cable.

Smart Remote: The 3-button Smart Remote lets you control your iPod, iPhone, iPad, and recent versions of Macbooks. The outer buttons control volume up and volume down. The center button controls music playback (play, pause, play next song, play previous song) and phone functions (accept call, end call, reject call, voice control). In addition, the Smart Remote has a built-in microphone. The Smart Remote is compatible with:

  • iPod:
    • shuffle: (remote and voiceover functions) 3rd generation and later
    • nano: 4th generation and later
    • classic: 120 GB, 160 GB
    • touch: 2nd generation and later
  • iPhone: 3GS, 4, 4S, 5
  • iPad: iPad and iPad2
  • Macbooks: 2009 and later models of Macbook, Macbook Pro, and Mac Pro

A
The person to whom I gave these head phones as a gift, only has Apple devices, so I do not know if they work with Android. Sorry I could not be of help. They are great headphones and Crutchfield is a customer-friendly company.
celia  Dec 22, 2014
A
Yes. These will work with any source device that accepts a headphone plug.
james  Dec 22, 2014
A
You absolutely can, simply use the cord that does NOT have the iPhone controls (i.e the plain cord) and you will be treated to the finest reproduction of sound from your android device.
jason  Dec 22, 2014
A
Yes. I have a Galaxy S3 and these headphones work great with it. Cheers

Q
i would like to know the sound quality of the headphones and if they are really worth the price? do they sound good with any phone type?

A
They are - the sound is rich and not overbearing with blown out bass or tinny highs (like Beats or other overpriced alternatives). They are incredibly comfortable and easily worn all day. The added bonus of having a microphone built in to the cable means I can go all day and not have to swap out to answer a quick call. These are by far the best headphones I have owned.

I am no audiophile. However, I think the sound quality is excellent. I practice a musical instrument with these listening to the full orchestra playing while I play along. I think the price is well worth it. I have an iphone 5 that I use with these. Additionally, I use these headphones an amazing number of times while answering my cell phone and the in line microphone is excellent and call quality is excellent.

Yes, they sound great and I think the sound quality is worth the price. My only complaint with these headphones is that they get hot on your ears
james  Nov 16, 2014

I have been very happy with my Momentum headphones. The sound has been excellent for all types of music. I have owned Sennheiser headphones for the past 20 years and highly recommend their products; the quality is always excellent.
james  Nov 16, 2014

Yes, they are excellent and worth more than the price. Remember, however, your speakers/headphones are just one link in your sound chain? How is the quality of the music? How good is the amp/preamp, etc. if all links are good, then these Sennheisers are worth your money.
ronald  Nov 16, 2014
A
I use them on my iPhone and the sound quality is great. The mic works very well for calls.

The sound quality of these headphones is very good. They work very well with all music sources and even enhance the quality of MP3 players partially because of there frequency range and impedence level. The bass is good but not ultra deep as is the case with on ear headphones in general. They are light and rest well on most ears however is you have large ears or very sensitive ones long listening periods may become uncomfortable. For me they are definitely worth the price. As to the question of working well with any phone type as long as the sound quality of your phone is good these headphone will work well. I hope this is of some assistance to you.
