Product Research

Features

Overview: The Sennheiser PC 363D Pro PC gaming headset keeps you in the middle of the game with 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound. The included Dolby Pro Logic IIx adapter and sound drivers envelopes you with the sounds of your game. The headset's open, over-ear design and noise-canceling microphone allow you to clearly communicate with teammates or opponents. The PC 363D weighs just under 10 ounces, and is comfortable for hours of use.

Earcup Design: The PC 363D's over-ear headset features XXL velvet earcups for ultimate comfort. The open-acoustic design helps air circulate to make sure your headset stays cool for hours of continuous wear. Sennheiser's "Eargonomic" Acoustic Refinement design is the same as that of their high-end hi-fi headphones. The integrated rotary volume control, located on the right earcup, gives you easy and fast sound level adjustment at your fingertips.

Noise-canceling Microphone: The built-in noise-canceling microphone filters out background noise so you can hear instructions and game talk clearly. The mic has a wide frequency response (50-16kHz) and a high sensitivity rating (-38dBV). The microphone is on a 7" boom that can be rotated so you can position it as you like, or swing it up and out of the way when not using it. Raising the boom to the upright position automatically engages the microphone mute. The boom is flexible to allow you to adjust how close to your mouth you want the mic to be.

Connections: The PC 363D's 88" long main cable has dual 3.5mm plugs, one for the microphone and the other for the game audio. These plug directly into your PC's microphone and headphone outputs.

3D G4ME 1: The PC 363D comes with the 3D G4ME 1 USB adapter which enables the headset to produce 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound. The dual 3.5mm plugs connect to the adapter, and the adapter connects to your PC via USB. A USB extension is included if you need additional length. You must first install the driver software on the supplied CD-ROM into your PC. Using the slide switch on the adapter, you can switch between standard stereo audio to Surround Sound. The 3D G4ME 1 adapter has the following system requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows XP 32/64 bits with Service Pack 2 or above, Windows Vista 32/64 bits, and Windows 7 32/64 bits.
  • USB: USB 2.0 port
  • CPU: 1.8 GHz
  • Hard Disk: 50 MB available space
  • Memory: 1 GB or above
  • Drive: CD or DVD

Customer Q&A

Q
How good is the surround sound? I really want to be able to listen to 4 or 5 channel music with headphones. Will these actually deliver good front/back separation?

My son uses it as his gaming headset, so I don't know that I can answer your question. He has said that he can hear footsteps of approaching enemies in his game and he is able to track them with the soundsets. Also, he often listens to music on the headphones and brags about the quality and immersion.

First, the headphone rock. Beware of the microphone, however, it will pick up breathing (for watching movies it won't matter, obviously, but I give presentations on the interweb). I use them in 5.1 mode constantly. I can _really_ hear the difference when I turn on that mode in Netflix. The sound is richer/fuller and the "surround" feeling is great. The surround accuracy isn't perfect. When I test the individual channels, I get _some_ feeling that I'm getting the rear from the rear, but it isn't dramatic. Bottom line? Buy them because the sound is awesome, the fit is superb. If you are looking for 5/7.1 separation that's the equivalent of a home theater setup? Not so much.

I checked with an Advisor and they stated: No, they do not. But check out the Sennheiser X2, X320 and U320. Thanks!
