About the Sennheiser Urbanite
Powerful sound for real-world listening
Powerful sound for real-world listening
Rare are the times when we listen to music while sitting at home in a quiet room. So Sennheiser created a headphone with sound that cuts through the din of a busy street or crowded coffeehouse. Their Urbanite headphones combine excellent noise isolation and up-front sound in an extremely lightweight, comfortable design. These headphones sound full and robust, with some extra "oomph" in the low frequencies to give your tunes more impact. It's a sound signature tailor-made for mobile listening. And as comfortable as the Urbanite headphones are, you may find yourself doing more on-the-go listening than ever.
The Urbanite's folding design is perfect for stashing them in the included carry bag and taking them with you (shown in Denim).
A paradox of noise isolation and supreme comfort
I'm still marveling at how Sennheiser created an on-ear headphone with such impressive noise isolation (keeping out external noise without the use of active noise cancellation) while remaining so comfortable. You'd think the headband would have to be pretty tight to keep these headphones against your ears with enough pressure to limit background noise so effectively. Yet the headband is super flexible and never feels like it's pressing your ears into your skull. It certainly helps that the earcups are well-padded and particularly cushy. That flexible headband also improves durability, as do the stainless steel hinges and aluminum earcup sliders.
Detachable cable with controls for Apple devices
The Urbanite headphones feature a flat, tangle-resistant cable that plugs into the left earcup and locks with a simple twist. It's a nice feature to ensure the cable doesn't accidentally get pulled out while you're moving about. The cable features a built-in remote with volume and music/call controls for your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod®. The remote also features a tiny microphone for making calls with your iPhone.

Features
Overview: The Sennheiser Urbanite On-ear headphones are stylish, high-quality on-ear headphones. They are lightweight and comfortable, with durable stainless steel hinges and aluminum sliders. They're made for people on the go, and can withstand rough treatment from everyday use. When not in use, you can fold your Urbanite headphones and store them in the included soft cloth storage pouch.
Design: The Urbanite On-ear headphone has a closed-back, supra-aural (on-ear) design which isolates much of the background noise. The low 18-ohm impedance allow the headphones to play portable devices at high volumes without overdriving the device's tiny amp.
Included Cable: The Urbanite On-ear headphones are equipped with an exchangeable 47" audio cable with a right-angled 3.5mm plug. The cables connect to the left earcup via a 2.5mm sub-mini plug that twist-locks in place to prevent accidental disconnection.
In-line Remote/Mic: The in-line 3-button remote/microphone is made to control your iPod, iPhone, and iPad. The outer buttons control volume up and volume down. The center button controls music playback (play, pause, play next song, play previous song) and phone functions (accept call, end call, reject call, voice control). The microphone has an omni-directional pickup pattern. The remote/mic is compatible with:
