Other features and specs:

Who needs a portable navigator?

A portable navigator eliminates the issue of phone coverage. You don't use data, and you always have maps - even when your phone has no (or slow) service. The maps in a portable navigator are superior to your phone's maps, as are the turn-by-turn directions. Modern GPS navigators have larger screens than most phones, so it's easier to see the map at a glance. Navigators with 3D maps really help you orient yourself quickly in urban areas. If you've got a lead foot, most navigators can also warn you when you are exceeding the speed limit.

Big Step Up

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Big step up from GPS of a few years ago. Worth it's weight in gold. Having map updates going forward is great too.

Only one small negative is that pressing keys can sometimes be a challenge. Hopefully it's just a matter of me getting the knack of it.

Purchased the unit for my wife. I was pleasantly surprised the unit arrived the next day (free shipping). She loves it.

good but could be better

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

OK, this is a good GPS, but not a great GPS. I had an earlier and cheaper Garmin nuvi, and they both have some of the same problems. It could be "operator error" but I still have not figured out if it is possible to delete one saved location from memory without deleting all saved locations from memory - same problem with the earlier model. And I would like a feature that my car's GPS has: I would like to be able to "drag" the screen so I can see what is ahead, without having to increase the scale and thus lose detail. That can't be too hard to do, can it? And, a little inconsistency: the earlier GPS told me, a the top of the screen, what road I was on; this one tells me what the next road is that I will be on. Confusing. But it works!

Nice graphics and easy to use. Screen size is perfect . Even though brand new, the maps seem outdated in smaller towns. Also, if i don't use for several days, it may take the satellite up to 15 minutes to pick up and I live in a major city.

A neat little package with loads of features

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After spending several weeks of frustration with the TOMTOM I gave up on this
device and was recommended by a Crutchfield Advisor to try out the Garvin Nuvi
. All I can say is good things about this GPS device. It is very intutivately
and the soft keys don't give you multiple letters or numbers when you tap them.
I am very pleased with my Nuvi Garmin.

1350LMT Review

Written by: laadyb from Anaheim, CA on December 9, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've held out buying a GPS mainly because I didn't want to pay a subscription for traffic,
so the LMT seemed like a perfect choice for me. I took it for a road test to Carmel and
was pleasantly surprised by some things and a little disappointed with others.
However, I am happy overall with my purchase.

I'm the adventuresome type so thought it fun when the unit took me off the highway for
a "shorter" route on a secondary highway. This might be a little disconcerting for some
who prefer to stay on main roads.

On the navigation tool, they should included "Scenic Route" along with the shorter
and faster routes options. I had to do some quick thinking to get it to take me home
along Coast Highway, but I never was able to get it to route me along all of Monterey's 17
Mile Drive as cared only about the various gates and not the drive itself.

My biggest disappointment was the device's inability to help me find diesel fuel for my
Jetta TDI. After all, it knew I needed diesel from information supplied for the Eco
settings. I had to use an iPhone app for that and then program in the station address.
Too much work when you're on the road.

The FM Traffic tool worked relatively well, but could have been a little more proactive in
keeping me out of a major jam up. It still did a better job that anything else I've tried so
far so can't complain too much. I would definitely suggest this model to a first time GPS

Garmin Nuvi 1350 LMT

Written by: JG from New York on December 3, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second Nuvi. My first was the 350 which still works perfectly, but I did not
want to pay for much needed map updates. I bought this one for the lifetime maps and
traffic features. The Nuvi kept giving exit options which were not necessary as I was on
the proper hwy. I thought the traffic delays would also be spoken but not so. Then I
looked at the Nuvi and saw the word DELAY in bold print and realized that's why I kept
getting exit prompts. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because Garmin did not
provide an A/C power adapter for charging in the home. Fortunately, the adapter for the
350 fit perfectly. Also, it is difficult to enter letters with the touch type keyboard which
does not work as well or easily as the 350 unit. Great Device...Highly recommend. I
also highly recommend Crutchfield ... excellent service!

Slim Profile, Bright Screen, and Easy to Use

Written by: EdE from Coral Springs, FL on November 11, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Recently upgraded from a 4 year old Magellan Roadmate 760...and it's amazing how
things have changed. This new Garmin 1350 is intuitive, easy to use, and while
featuring a big 4.3 " screen, it is still as portable as a smartphone due to its slim profile.
Entering destinations is quick and easy, finding satellites is prompt, and converting the
input to routing seems really fast. Mounting bracket is convenient in a number of
locations on my dashboard. I did replace the cigarette lighter cord with a universal
USB charging cord so I can use the same USB lighter insert to charge our phones and
the GPS unit. Of course I have not yet used the map update service, but I did register the
unit on line and the process went flawlessly. Next weekend we will be taking our first
long distance trip with the unit and will get to see how well the traffic radio functionality
works. This is a great product that was purchased at a great Crutchfield price.

Quality product at a cost effective price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After narrowing down the brand and model using website based reviews, I shopped for value. Buying maps regularly and the separate cost of the traffic receiver, the 1350LMT is clearly the best buy with free maps and traffic for life. Crutchfield had the best total cost delivered. If you can pay the little bit extra up front, you'll save hundreds down the road (pardon the pun). Excellent product, amazingly accurate and very easy to use. Buy it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Service from Crutchfield was excellent as usual. After a long search on the Internet, I found that Crutchfield had the lowest price for this unit. I decided on the Nuvi 1350LMT after extensively looking at comparable Tom Tom and Magellan units and the range of Garmin products. It's not the top of the line and it definitely has more features than the cheapest. The lifetime map will be an excellent add for my money. My 4-yr old Garmin unit needed a map update and when it quit (probably from being dropped one too many times or heated too often in the front seat of the car), a replacement unit was a requirement. Paper maps and Southern California traffic do not mix!. This Garmin unit does everything I need and the traffic advice is a nice to have add for me. So ... PLUG AND PLAY exactly as advertised immediately after being connected to my PC for its latest map update and product registration.

Great Product, Great Price

The Garmin nüvi 1350LMT is a really good GPS...comes with Free traffic updates and
lifetime map updates...nice, big, clear LCD screen...recalculates pretty fast...only complaint is
that sometimes it lets you know about upcoming traffic too late...can't beat the price
anywhere else...overall, great value for the money

Through ecoRoute's Fuel report and Mileage Report, you can track fuel usage and gas mileage during each trip. There is also a driving challenge to help you maximize your fuel economy by scoring your driving habits.

Avoidances: You can program the unit to avoid certain things that may be undesirable on your route. Examples of things that can be avoided include U-Turns, Highways, Toll Roads, Carpool Lanes, Unpaved Roads, and Ferries.

Waypoints: You can manually mark and name any map position as a waypoint for later recall. Up to 1000 waypoints can be saved into memory.
