Overview: The Garmin vívoactive is a GPS smartwatch with built-in sports apps that help you track your activities. When paired with your smartphone, vívoactive can alert you when you receive a call, text, email, or a calendar event. You can use the device with wireless ANT+ sensors, such as the optional Heart Rate Monitor, foot pod, temperature sensor, or bike speed/cadence sensor. The device has a waterproof rating of 5 ATM, allowing you to swim, perform outdoors in the rain, sweat, or even shower with it on. Vívoactive has a thin profile (only 5/16") and a high-resolution color touchscreen display that you can read in the sunlight. The watch is powered by a rechargeable battery, and comes with a charging/data cable.

Garmin Connect: The vívoactive has built-in Bluetooth Smart technology so you can automatically pair it to your smartphone or mobile device. You can also use the supplied charging/data cable to connect the device to your home computer. With the Garmin Connect app on your smartphone or computer, you can keep track of your activities, your daily goals, the calories you've burned, and help motivate you to keep active. You can also share your activities and goals with your friends on social media. Garmin Connect for your home computer is compatible with Windows XP and newer and Mac OS 10.7 or higher. Sports Apps: The vívoactive contains several sports apps that you can use to track your activities, including both indoor and outdoor activities. Some apps require you to pair the vívoactive to a compatible smartphone. Optional ANT+ sensors can provide additional data to the tracked activity. In addition, the Find My Phone app can help you locate a lost phone that is connected to the watch via Bluetooth.

• Running: Using built-in GPS, the vívoactive smartwatch can track the route and distance of your run, plus help you navigate back to the starting location. The stopwatch keeps the lap and total time of your run. You can also keep track of the number of laps, lap pace, and lap distance. Heart rate and running cadence can be monitored with add-on ANT+ sensors.
• Walking: The vívoactive uses the same display and monitors the same parameters as when running.
• Swimming: The vívoactive is designed for use while surface swimming only. It is not intended for scuba diving. You can select the pool size (25 or 50 meters, 25 yards, 33-1/3 yards, 33-1/3 meters, or custom) before beginning your swim. While swimming, the watch tracks lengths, intervals, strokes, and your swolf score (swimming efficiency measurement).
• Golf: Prior to playing golf, you must first download the course data from the Garmin Connect Mobile app on your smartphone. While you play, the vívoactive displays the hole number, par for the hole, and distances to the front, center, and back of the green. An odometer records the time, distance, and steps traveled during your round. You can also keep score and measure shot distances with the vívoactive.
• Indoor Activities: You can select indoor activities such as running or walking on a treadmill, or biking on a stationary bike. When training indoors, the GPS is turned off. Speed, distance, and cadence are calculated using the vívoactive's built-in accelerometer. The accuracy of the speed, distance, and cadence data improves after a few outdoors using GPS.

History: The vívoactive gives you access to saved data for up to 10 previous activities. With Auto Upload activated, your saved activity data is automatically uploaded to the Garmin Connect Mobile app. The device will save up to two months of activity tracking data only, or up to two weeks of activity tracking and extensive fitness activity (including heart rate or other detailed data). When the built-in storage becomes full, the oldest files are deleted to make room for new data.

Widgets: The device comes preloaded with Widgets that provide information at a glance, track specific activities, or allow you to perform specific activities on your smartphone. Some of the widgets require a Bluetooth connection with the smartphone. By swiping the display, you can cycle through the following widgets:

• Calendar: Displays upcoming meetings from your smartphone's calendar
• Music Controls: Control the music player on your smartphone: play/pause, next track, and previous track.
• Weather: Current temperature and weather forecast are displayed.
• Activity Tracking: You can create a daily step goal, and during the day, the device will display your progress. A periodic move alert (visual or vibration) will remind you to get up and move. You can also wear the watch while you sleep, and the device will monitor your rest, including total hours of sleep, periods of movement, and periods of restful sleep.
• VIRB Remote: The vívoactive can wirelessly control the Garmin VIRB or VIRB Elite Action Camera from a distance.
• Notifications: The vívoactive will gently vibrate to alert you if you receive one of the following:
  • Phone Call: Caller ID and missed call information are displayed
  • Text: Sender information and message are displayed
  • Email: Sender information and subject are displayed
  • Social Media: Notifications from Facebook, Twitter
  • Weather: Weather alerts and temperature data from select weather apps

Connect IQ: The Connect IQ Store, found on the Garmin Connect Mobile app, allows you to add extra features to your vívoactive. You can download custom watch faces, new data fields for sensor activity, more Widgets, and additional apps.

Rechargeable Battery: The vívoactive is powered by a built-in Lithium-polymer rechargeable battery. The battery lasts approximately 10 hours in GPS mode, and up to 3 weeks in watch mode. The battery is charged when the watch is attached to the charging cradle and the charging/data cable is plugged into a USB port on your computer.
