The navigation pros at Garmin know you want guidance that's every bit as reliable as your bike, so they made the zumo 390LM motorcycle navigator to work through thick and thin, and to guide you safely to your next destination. Not only does it offer helpful maintenance aids and built-in Bluetooth® connectivity with your compatible helmet or headset, but you also get free lifetime map updates to ensure your journeys won't be burdened with the hassle of outdated information.
The zumo 390LM features a 4.3" color touchscreen in a rugged waterproof housing that also withstands damage from ultraviolet rays and fuel spills. It comes with detailed maps of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and more, plus millions of preloaded points of interest. You can also upload your own favorite stops and create custom routes for favorite adventures. You can hear turn-by-turn voice directions with text-to-speech technology through your compatible headset or helmet.
Attach the zumo 390LM to your bike's handlebars with a rugged mount that features an integrated power cable and headphone jack. Garmin includes the necessary mounting hardware for your bike, plus additional windshield mounting gear and a power cable for your car or truck when you want to leave the bike at home.
You don't want to chance a last-second lane change for upcoming turns, so let Garmin's lane assist with junction view keep you on the right course. You'll also see realistic views of complicated interchanges — including highway signs — to help you get your bearings. And the zumo will let you know what accommodations and services are right by the nearest exit up ahead. Garmin's TracBack routing takes you back to your starting point along the exact same route you traveled, so you can revisit favorite spots.
Looking for added thrills on the asphalt? The zumo's Curvy Roads routing puts you on winding paths whenever possible. Trip planner and trip log features help you record your journeys and plan for future rides. The zumo's "Where Am I" emergency locator provides your exact location in an instant, displaying nearby emergency services if help is needed.
A built-in digital fuel gauge keeps you aware of how much you've got left in the tank. The speed limit indicator can help you stay on the right side of the law. The included Service History Log lets you record date, mileage, and performed maintenance on your bike's tires, chain, oil, spark plugs, and more.
With an optional Garmin sensor, you can see your bike's tire pressure on the zumo 390LM's screen. You can monitor up to four tires in any configuration, with one tire pressure monitor sensor required per tire.
The zumo 390LM's built-in Bluetooth wireless technology connects with your Bluetooth enabled headset or helmet so you can hear the navigator's spoken directions over road noise. And if your helmet or headset's paired with a compatible phone, you can use the zumo 390LM to place and receive calls without touching your phone. You'll be able to call up destinations like hotels or restaurants from the road to make reservations without stopping.
Mounted this on my new Honda F6B bagger, and it does everything it is supposed to do very well. However, I find it extremely frustrating trying to enter an address I want to travel to - especially since this is a high-end very expensive GPS. In much lower quality GPS's, including the Garmin line, you can start entering an address via zip code. That's not available on this model!. Instead, you HAVE TO start entering an address - starting with the house number - and the database starts searching. Imagine entering 12 Main St. and see what hits come up? And what about weird city names? Schenectady come to mind? What was Garmin thinking???? Oh that's right, I can enter coordinates instead for pinpoint accuracy, and we always know the lat/long lines of some biker bar in the Adirondacks, don't we????? And let's face it, most of the time we use the GPS to take us to a destination - why make it so difficult for no apparent reason - the technology has been around for ages?
Pros: GPS works flawlessly, Graphic are great, Right size and shape for MC, and touchscreen works with gloves on.
Cons: Entering addresses is ANNOYING AND TIME-CONSUMING!!!!!
Installed this setup on a 2012 Victory Cross Country Tour and has worked flawlessly for us.
Pros: Easy to install and set up.
Cons: Wish it had real time traffic without additional cable.
I love this new GPS. I purchased it for my Yamaha Roadstar and it works Great! My gauges are intermittent and the trip computer displays all the information I need. Speed, 2 odometers, fuel tracking, and lots of other options. I haven't really needed it for directions yet but a group of us are heading up to the Dragons Tail this week and I will be using it constantly. Very nicely built GPS, seems indestructible. Works well with my bluetooth headset. I ordered this item from Crutchfield and I got it the next day with their expedited shipping. Love the Awesome service Crutchfield provided.
Pros: Sturdy Mounts made by Ram. Easy to use controls that work well with my gloves. Large display, easy to read from sitting position ( I mounted it on the handlebars between the risers )
Cons: Difficult to see with bright, direct sunlight especially with polarized sunglasses. All other times are good. I have used the unit both day and night.
Just used it on a 10 day 1791 mile motorcycle ride. Of course, being a male i didn't spend much time reviewing the owners manual prior to leaving. It was easy enough to operate, suction cup mount worked excellent, kept a charge, display easy to read and voice commands loud enough even without using bluetooth. The price point is high and sometimes gps units take you where you don't like to go. In my case interstates and I had the highway avoidance on.
