Overview Details Staff Reviews Customer Reviews Category Info Our take on the Dynamat Dynaxorb by Leigh Schoettinger Back-wave distortion occurs when sound waves generated from the rear of a speaker bounce back to the speaker cone, interfering with the speaker's operation and causing distortion. Dynamat's Dynaxorb advanced polymer sheets use a special sonic technology to absorb, diffuse, and weaken rear waves, eliminating distortion. Install Dynaxorb sheets behind speakers or inside subwoofer enclosures, and your speakers or subwoofer will play with improved clarity. For best results, use with Dynamat Xtreme. 6" x 6" sheets, 1/4" thick. Warranty: 30 days. Hands-on research from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) Place Dynaxorb squares behind a speaker to eliminate back-wave speaker distortion. Back-wave distortion occurs when the wave from the back of a speaker bounces off the surface behind, then interferes with the speaker's ability to reproduce the next note. Using Sonic Stealth Technology, Dynaxorb absorbs, diffuses, and attenuates the sonic energy directed toward it, thus removing back-wave interference. Applications: Dynaxorb can be used in automotive and home applications: Automotive: most effective when mounted directly behind a speaker, typically behind a door panel or in a subwoofer enclosure Home: effective when mounted directly behind an in-wall speaker (inside the wall); it not only eliminates back-wave distortion, but also reduces the unwanted sound radiated through the wall into the next room Installation: The 6" squares can be trimmed with scissors to fit small applications, or tiled together to fit larger applications. Use the included Super Glue to fix the squares in place. Product reviews from the Crutchfield Labs Product reviews from the Crutchfield Labs (what are the Labs?) Written By Jason, Grand Rapids, MI. on Saturday, October 10, 2009 I was having a problem with a 400hz to 1.6khz honk or ringing. This product did exactly what it Dynamat said it would. It got rid of the backwave bouncing of the outer panel without over deadening the speaker or making it sound chesty or flat. Well worth it if you are having a similar problem. Every vehicle has its own share of frequency issues. If everything else about your install is up to snuff and your still having these problems this will probably help.
