The reinforced aluminum skin creates a water/oil barrier that reflects 97% of radiant heat, protecting your hood's finish.

Note: We've gotten great results using Dynamat Hoodliner by itself on a variety of vehicles. For engine compartments with high heat or noise levels, Dynamat recommends putting down a layer of Dynamat Xtreme first, and installing Hoodliner over it. You apply Dynamat Hoodliner to your hood's flat panel surfaces (not the ribs) — the packet includes one 55-1/2"L x 32-1/2"W sheet (12 square feet), plenty for just about any hood. Warranty: 60 days.

Features

Materials: The Hoodliner consists of three separate layers. The first layer is a 1 mil reinforced, Aluminized heat reflector and water/oil barrier. "Sound Soaker" Urethane acoustic foam forms the middle layer. The third layer is a super aggressive 4 mil acrylic adhesive with an "EZ Peel" release liner.

Benefits: The Hoodliner has the following benefits:

  • Absorbs engine noise
  • Stops hood paint failure
  • Improves the look of the engine compartment
  • Tough Urethane foam is easy to cut
  • Reflects 97% of radiant heat and insulates
  • EZ Peel-N-Stick application makes for an easy installation
Installation

Instructions: For proper installation, follow these instructions:

  1. Thoroughly clean each mounting surface with a quick-drying solvent that is residue free (Isopropyl Alcohol, Acetone or Lacquer thinner), removing any grease, dirt, oil, wax, moisture or rust. With the surface clean and smooth, a permanent bond is assured.
  2. Using a razor knife or scissors, cut to the desired shape and size. Remove release liner. On large area applications, remove only a portion (8-10 inches) of release liner at a time, working your way down and across the panel in sections.
  3. Heating the panel surface you are mounting to before applying the material is recommended to insure proper adhesion. Also, heating the Hoodliner will make the glue stickier. This will keep the Hoodliner in full contact with the panel maximizing material efficiency.
  4. Apply the Hoodliner to the panel surface, starting at the top corner and working your way down and across, pressing the material into place as you go. With a roller tool, burnish the Hoodliner to the surface. Starting from the center, work it into all contours of the panel. Even if it's a smooth panel, rolling the material will insure lasting adhesion and full contact with the panel surface removing any trapped air.

I don't see why not. I cut it to fit in a cover for a inboard boat engine. Sticks tight and works good. Quiet.

I would think so, I used it on the doghouse over the engine in a 34ft Class A RV and it worked well.

Have no idea, i used the liner in my boat hood trimmed to fit. I can say the product is of high quality and the glue sticks well all the way to the edges.

This piece is not vehicle specific, you will have to trim it to fit once you decide exactly where you want it anyway. I believe it will work fine. I used it on a 69 F100.

Q
How much better would this be for noise vs a OEM hoodliner?
woody  Oct 23, 2018

A
A lot. I had a full exhaust with catless headers and pretty solid engine mounts. When I put this on it drastically reduces noise from engine bay and increased sound quality in my car from my sound system. To be fair I also installed a massive amount of dynamat at the same time as I installed the hoodliner. And my car had no oem hoodliner

My kit went into a '58 Volvo restoration which had no hood-liner at all. So a pretty good improvement. I don't know what brand of car you have, but the kit is better than most stock applications I have seen.

Hi Anthony, thanks for your question. The packet includes one 55-1/2" x 32-1/2" sheet (12 square feet), plenty for just about any hood. This information is on the main product page. You would have to expand where it says "Keep reading". Hope this helps.

Hi Anthony. I don't remember the actual size but i know it's big enough to fit most vehicles I have a Lincoln Aviator and it fits no problem. i would go so far as to say that it's better than the original hood liner. not sure what a K3500 is.
