Our take on the Dynamat DynaPad

by Leigh Schoettinger

Tired of struggling to hear your music over road, wind, and engine noise? Dynamat DynaPad offers a great solution. DynaPad provides a composite barrier for excellent acoustic absorption and thermal insulation, so you can listen to your music without unwanted, extraneous noise.

Two layers of acoustic foam act as sound absorbers, sandwiching a layer of Dynil, an acoustic barrier. This design creates a sound-insulating system that prevents outside noise from entering your car or your music from leaving. Accidental spills or splashes won't faze DynaPad — it's water- and oil-resistant. Place the pad under your vehicle's carpet, and enjoy a new listening environment.

One 54" x 32" sheet, 12 square feet. Warranty: 60 days.

Overview: DynaPad is a four-layer composite barrier utilizing a 1 pound per square foot vinyl material sandwiched between two layers of 3/16" thick acoustic foam and a urethane top layer. It's designed to provide an under carpet sound barrier in automotive, residential, and commercial applications. The composite absorption-barrier-absorption system maximizes the amount of sound that can be stopped. DynaPad can withstand temperatures from -40° to +225° Fahrenheit.

Not so much bang for the buck

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I installed Dynapad over Dynamat extreme and under new carpet in my truck. The padding appeared to be of very high quality but truthfully, the difference in noise reduction was minimal. This stuff is expensive. If I were to do it over again I would look for a less expensive alternative.

Not worth the price

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I purchased this product with the intent to cure my trunk rattle. I am sorry to say that I am very disappointed. For $140 the amount of product that you receive is pathetic. Sure, it did help the rattle, but it left a hole in my pocket. You are much better off going with the cheaper original dynamat.
