Tired of struggling to hear your music over road, wind, and engine noise? Dynamat DynaPad offers a great solution. DynaPad provides a composite barrier for excellent acoustic absorption and thermal insulation, so you can listen to your music without unwanted, extraneous noise.

Two layers of acoustic foam act as sound absorbers, sandwiching a layer of Dynil, an acoustic barrier. This design creates a sound-insulating system that prevents outside noise from entering your car or your music from leaving. Accidental spills or splashes won't faze DynaPad — it's water- and oil-resistant. Place the pad under your vehicle's carpet, and enjoy a new listening environment.

One 54" x 32" sheet, 12 square feet. Warranty: 60 days.

Yes, this could be used for that very application. We actually sell it in a larger quantity if that is desired:https://www.crutchfield.com/p_15450110/Dynamat-DynaPad.html

Q
Can i just put these under floor mats? Looking for something to help with road noise when traveling with my dogs

Sorry for the delay. I would not. It will most likely cause your Matt's to slide. And could cause a safety issue. Doing the front of your car may not be too bad. You can just pull the carpet back to the seats and then install this. Hope this helps
jon-barrett  Jun 11, 2022
A
Yes you can do that. However if you go the extra mile and place it underneath the carpet it will not deteriorate and will mitigate your sound problem that much better.
chris  Apr 04, 2022
A
Yes you can. It's meant to be installed below carpet but easily trimmed to fit in space below mats. But choose carefully as some choices are thick and may cause safety issue
george  Apr 04, 2022
A
They can go under anything you'd like. Unlike floor mats, these don't have anchors to keep from sliding, and it's pretty dense so the floor mat anchors most likely won't dig into them like they do carpet. With that in mind maybe some 3M velcro to hold them into place and cut to size. You'll get best noise dampening covering the entire floor under the carpet. Not sure how much dampening You'll actually get just under floor mats.

Q
I have heard that dynapad can negatively affect stereo performance by "muddying" the music where as dynamat does not. What is your opinion about using this for road noise on the floor of the vehicle without negatively affecting sound quality?

A
I only used this on the firewall so i cant speak to the whole car...def made a difference for the road noise and heat...music quality doesn't seem to be affected...there's carpet on top of it anyhow so i think you'll find very little difference in sound quality...for the whole car i would recommend Dynamat Extreme and then Dynaliner on top of that if you want extra insulation
greg compton c/  Sep 08, 2021
A
I installed dynamat first then dynapad then I put my caret over, it did not muddy my sound made the road noise lower.

Q
does dynapad have insulating properties? I live in the midwest and this will be going in a 1990 Chevy 1500. I already am putting down Kilmat 80 mil sound deadening material. I want to know if I need this in addition.
sean  Nov 16, 2020

A
It's not rated for any insulating values. That said, it's better than nothing. As far as sound ,this vs the kilmat or dynamat, they deaden different types of noises. This is often laid over the mat, to help deaden 2 different types of sounds.

Same product $98 dollars at sonic electronics?

It does appear that SonicElectronix has this item for that price, yes. I am unsure why there is such a large price difference, honestly.
