Sony's 43" KP-43T90 is just a little deeper than a typical 27" TV, yet offers more than 2-1/2 times as much screen area! With its relatively compact cabinet, and a minimum viewing distance of just 8 feet, the KP-43T90 fits in locations where projection TVs normally won't, like a bedroom or small apartment.
A wide 130º viewing angle means you won't have to crowd everyone into a small "sweet spot" for the best view. The picture looks terrific; so bright and clear you'll swear you're watching an oversized direct-view TV!
An array of auto-picture adjustment circuits monitors image sharpness, color, contrast and shading, and there are also plenty of manual adjustments so you can fine-tune the picture to your personal taste. Sony's digital Flash Focus system automatically aligns the red, green, and blue picture tubes with the push of a button. It's a fast, precise and easy way to maintain optimum picture quality.
The built-in high-contrast screen improves contrast significantly while resisting kids' fingerprints, cats' claws, etc. If you don't have a handy tabletop, we carry a Sanus stand that raises the KP-43T90 to ideal viewing height (see "Accessories").

3D Digital Comb Filter: Sony's new comb filter analyzes picture information horizontally, vertically and over time. You will get high resolution under most picture conditions. New 10-bit signal processing renders superb gray-scale gradation, resulting in superior picture detail.
Advanced Velocity Modulation Scanning: This system varies the electron beam speed to render high-contrast picture edges more effectively.
Flash Focus All Digital Alignment System: With the touch of one button, you can converge the picture by aligning the red, green, and blue picture tubes. This allows you to watch a perfectly converged picture without having to spend a long time manually converging the picture, or having to call in a service technician.
Microfocus Picture Tubes: Uses an extended neck, reducing beam spot size by 25% for a highly detailed, sharp picture.
Microfocus Lenses: Made up of 1 glass and 3 acrylic lenses for a flatter focus plane.
Brightview Dual Component Screen: Delivers 10% better color contrast and 30% higher brightness than Sony's previous designs.
First Surface Mirror: Unlike many projection TVs, which require the electron beam to pass through the front surface of the mirror twice, Sony's First Surface Mirror means the beam reflects off only the front surface. This results in improved resolution, brightness and contrast.
Dynamic Focus Circuitry: This system adjusts the picture during each scanning line for consistent corner-to-corner sharpness.
Dynamic Picture Processor: The Dynamic Picture Processor maintains image detail in the very bright and dark areas of each scene.High Contrast Protective Screen: This television has a screen with a scratch-resistant dark tint surface that increases black level for even more brilliant colors.
2-Tuner Picture-in-Picture: This feature allows you to watch two programs at once using the television's internal tuners. One program is displayed in the main window, while the second program is displayed in a secondary PIP window. The secondary PIP window size can be set to 1/9, 1/16, or Off. You can move the location of the secondary PIP window to any of the four corners on the screen. In addition, you can alternate sound between the main program and the program in the secondary PIP window. Using the Swap function, you can instantly switch the main program with the secondary program. The Freeze function allows you to freeze the program in the secondary PIP window, while the main program continues to play.
Favorite Preview: This feature lets you preview programming on up to eight favorite channels in the secondary PIP window, while the main program continues to play.
Video Mode: You can select Vivid, Standard, Movie, Personal 1, or Personal 2. The Vivid setting enhances picture contrast and sharpness. The Standard setting displays a standard picture for normal viewing environments. The Movie setting displays a finely detailed picture for low light environments. The Personal 1 and Personal 2 settings allow you to customize the video menu according to your personal preference.
Steady Sound: This feature stabilizes the volume level, preventing unwanted blasts of sound during commercials.
Sound Effects: To enhance the sound, you can select Surround, Simulated, or BBE. Surround mode adds a three-dimensional sound to stereo programs. Simulated mode adds a surround-like effect to mono-channel programs. BBE mode centers the sound intensity to the front, creating an effect as if your were seated in front of an orchestra. The sound effects can be turned off.
SAVA Speaker Control: If you connect an optional Sony SAVA speaker system, you can turn off the television's internal speakers and listen to the audio through the SAVA speakers. Using the supplied television remote, you can adjust the volume, attenuation, "Surround Mode", and "Super Woofer Mode" on the SAVA speaker system.
V-Chip Parental Control: This allows you to limit the shows that can be viewed based on the television rating system. This system uses a user selected 4-digit password to block programs from children based on TV Ratings and contents; Movie Ratings and Unrated programs. Note that the unit has three pre-selected categories (Child, Youth, and Young Adult), or you can select the exact restrictions you want by using a Custom setting. After setting Parental Control "On", you must enter the password to view blocked programs. Note that if you forget the password you can enter the master password found in the owner's manual, which allows you to create a new password.
Sleep Timer: The sleep timer switches the television off after a specified amount of time. The sleep timer can be set to 30, 60, or 90 minutes.
Timer: This unit has one timer that can be set by day, time, duration, and channel.
RM-Y906 Remote: The supplied remote is pre-programmed to operate this unit and a number of functions on other brands of A/V components, including VCRs, MiniDisc players, DVD players, cable boxes, and satellite receivers. A select button and arrow keys allow you to move the on-screen selector, making menu navigation simple and efficient. The jump, enter, volume, channel, and numeric keypad buttons glow in the dark (green).
