Use GPS and the included PlayMemories Home app to get telemetry data from the Sony HDR-AS100V.
The Sony HDR-AS100V goes where most video cameras can't. This action camera's compact chassis is splashproof on its own, but the included plastic housing seals against dust, grime, and mud, and is waterproof to 197 feet. That means you can take it biking, skydiving, surfing, skiing — anywhere your adventures take you. This camera can take it when you want to play rough.
No need to wait to share footage of your good times. The HDR-AS100VR is equipped with Wi-Fi and GPS. The included PlayMemories™ Home software allows you to gather and display helpful information such as speed, route and geotagging telemetry data. NFC (Near Field Communication) technology lets you use a compatible mobile device as a remote control, as well as a Live View screen. NFC also allows quick touch pairing with compatible mobile devices. Sony's optional Live View remote allows you to control up to five AS100VR cameras for a multi-angle shoot that can really dazzle.
The HDR-AS100V records in crisp 60p resolution, and it captures fast action smoothly. The camera's back-illuminated Exmor R® CMOS sensor records sharp images, even in low light situations. The Carl Zeiss® lens offers a wide 170-degree field of view, and the camera shoots both video and stills at 13.5-megapixel resolution. Sony hasn't forgotten about sound, either — there's a built-in stereo microphone under the lens so you can hear as well as you see during playback.
I used this little camera (and the headband which I purchased separately) to record some sledding runs on the mountain. It performed beautifully. Once I remembered to take it off of the 'Hold' function so I could record, it went smoothly. It is easy to use (I would encourage reading the instructions, which are relatively short and to the point) and once you are familiar, its easy-peasy. I especially like the wi-fi function as it makes transferring the videos and pics super easy. (If you are good with a smart phone, that is)
Pros: Ease of use (After reading the instructions)
Cons: None...that I have found yet.
This is a very nice camera, very light and easy to use.

Overview: The HDR-AS100V is the next generation of Sony Action Cams with advanced recording features. This lightweight, durable digital HD video camera captures your point of view while performing action sports. The camera body itself is splashproof (IPX4), and comes with a waterproof clear plastic case. It can be mounted in a variety of places, using the supplied surface mounts and other optional mounts. The Action Cam can record pro-quality XAVC-S video at very high bit rates, as well as Full HD 1080p MP4 video and 13.5MP still images. The AS100V also has built-in Wi-Fi so you can share your videos wirelessly to your smartphone or tablet or control it remotely.
Image Sensor: The AS100V is equipped with a 1/2.3" Exmor R CMOS image sensor with 18.9-million gross pixels and 13.5-million effective pixels for movies and photos.
Lens: The ultra wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens gives you a wide 170° perspective. It has a bright F2.8 aperture, and a 17.1mm focal length (35mm equivalent) for video.
Recording Media: You can record HD video and Still Images onto Memory Stick Micro (Mark2), microSD, microSDHC, or microSDXC memory cards.
Note: High-capacity Class 10 or higher microSDXC cards are recommended for recording XAVC-S movies. Class 4 or higher cards are recommended for MP4 movies.
Built-in Wi-Fi: The AS100V has built-in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). You can operate the camera via Wi-Fi using the Smart Remote Control function of a smartphone or the optional RM-LVR1 Live View Remote. You can also transfer and display images on to a smartphone or tablet wirelessly via the downloadable "PlayMemories Mobile" app, compatible with iOS (4.3 or later) and Android (4.3 or later). Some Android devices (4.0 or later) can be connected via One-touch Functions via NFC. The Smart Remote Control function allows you to start/stop recording, change shooting mode, and change the SteadyShot and Field Angle settings.
Note: The camera's Airplane Mode lets you disable all functions related to the wireless applications.
GPS: The AS100V is equipped with a GPS receiver that will record the location information and movement speed while recording movies. The PlayMemories Home software (downloadable from the internet to your PC) allows you to import movies with the GPS log to a computer and view them with a map showing the location information.
