Features
Overview: The Sony NWZ-B135F portable
digital audio player with a built-in 2 GB flash memory that can store up to
500 songs (4-minutes each at 128 kbps). It also has a built-in FM tuner, and a
microphone for voice recording. You can also record from the FM tuner. The
player has built-in USB plug (Type A male) to allow you to plug it directly into
your computer for charging or transferring files.
3-Line Color Display: The player features a backlit 3-line
color LCD display which shows track, artist, and album information.
Headphones: The player comes with a pair of earbud-style headphones. The attached cord is 44" from the tip to the left earbud,
and 57" to the right earbud, and is designed to hang to one side. The headphone
cord is terminated with a gold-plated 3.5mm stereo miniplug.
Audio Formats: The
NWZ-B135F Walkman comes with software for customers who
already have extensive MP3 music libraries to store and play back their
collection. This device supports playback of MP3 and WMA
files, including WM-DRM protected music files.
Home Menu:
The home menu offers a pathway to all the player's functions:
- Voice: plays/deletes recorded sound files
- Music Library:
browse music by All Songs, Playlist, Albums, Artist, Genre, Release Year, or Folder
- FM Radio:
plays FM radio, or plays back or deletes a recorded FM program
- Settings:
Music, FM Radio, Recording, Common, Information, Language, or Initialize
Music Library: The 2 GB NWZ-B135F will hold
up to 500 songs (4 minutes each, recorded at 128 kbps). You can search for
music by Album name, Artist name, Genre, Release year, Folder name, Playlist, or
all songs can be listed alphabetically by song title. Once you select a
category, you can then play all the matching songs, or further narrow your
search to a single song. Play modes include:
- Normal: all songs in the selected folder/album/artist are played
once
- Repeat All: all songs in the selected folder/album/artist are
played repeatedly
- Repeat 1 Song: the current song is played repeatedly
- Repeat Shuffle All: all songs in the selected folder/album/artist
are played in random order
FM Radio: This unit has a built-in FM tuner. The headphone
cord serves as an antenna, so you should connect the headphones and extend the
cord as far as possible for best results. The tuning interval is 0.1 MHz from
87.5 MHz to 108 MHz. You can store up to 30 stations as presets, automatically
or manually. You can set the scan sensitivity to High (default) or Low.
Recording FM: You can record from the FM tuner. The built-in
memory can store up to 12 hours and 10 minutes of FM programming. The unit
records FM using the MS-ADPCM format.
Voice Recording: In addition to recording from the FM
tuner, you can record voice memos or other sound through the built-in
microphone. You can choose between a high, mid, or low recording bit rate. The
unit records sounds using the MS-ADPCM format.
AVLS (Automatic Volume Limiter System): You can activate the AVLS to
limit the maximum volume to prevent auditory disturbance or distraction. When
the AVLS is set to "On", you can listen to music at a comfortable volume level.
Hold Button: This button allows
you to lock and disable the controls on the player.
USB 2.0 High Speed: You can
easily transfer your music to the NWZ-B135F at high speeds via the USB direct
plug-in.
Charging the Battery: The embedded 170mA Lithium Ion battery
is charged by connecting the player to a computer via the direct USB plug-in.
You can set the rate of battery charging: High Power 500mA for a fast charge, or
Low Power 100mA for a slower charge. The stability of data transferring is
improved when charging slowly. A full charge takes approximately 70 minutes. The
Quick Charge features gives you 90 minutes of play time after only 3 minutes of
charging.
