Features
Overview: You can synch up and charge your Sony Portable Reader to your notebook or desktop with the BCR-RU1 cradle or you can use the cradle to simply store your Reader when not in use. With a USB and power port built in to the back of the cradle, the BCR-RU1 eliminates the need to manually connect cables every time you wish to charge or update your Reader PRS-500. The BCR-RU1 comes with an adapter if you choose to use your Reader without the soft case.
Compatibility: The BCR-RU1 is designed exclusively for the Sony Portable Reader PRS-500.
Connections: The Sony BCR-RU1 features a multi-connector used to dock your PRS-500 Portable Reader. The BCR-RU cradle also features a 5.2-volt power port and mini-B USB connection. The 5.2-volt power port is used to power and charge your PRS-500 Reader using the AC power adapter and cord supplied with the Portable Reader. The mini-B USB connection can be used to transfer contents between your computer and your Sony Reader as well as charge your Reader via the USB cable supplied with your PRS-500 Reader.
Note: Do not use a USB hub. Connect directly to the USB port of you computer. If you connect the Sony Reader and Cradle via USB to your notebook computer which is not connected to an AC outlet, the battery of the notebook computer will be consumed.
Charge Indicator: The BCR-RU1 Reader Cradle features two LEDs that light up white while the docked Reader is charging in the Cradle and goes off when charging is complete.
