Blu-ray players deliver a better picture to your HDTV than any other available source. In fact, Blu-ray's 1080p picture is a perfect match for the 1080p screens found on most current TVs. Blu-ray movies also offer the most precise and realistic surround sound you can get. These players do a terrific job with standard DVDs, too — you'll see a cleaner, clearer picture with every disc in your collection. Many Blu-ray players can connect to the Internet for watching online movies from Netflix® and other video services.

Bought this for a long trip to Oregon (7 hours). Kids loved it, gave us 6.5 hours of peace and quiet. Batter life is as advertised, easy to operate, no problems whatsoever. A terrific buy for the money and very cheap for the peace of mind it delivers.

Pros: Good battery life. Picture quality good. Sound quality good. Easy to use. Love it.

Cons: None so far.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this portable player for my grandchildren (6 & 9 yrs old ) to use while traveling that would play all dvd formats. So far, seems to be a good choice and has not skipped when car goes over bumps. Both kids like it, so this bluray player gets my good recommendation.

Pros: Easy to use, good build quality, and plays all dvd formats. Usual Sony dvd top notch picture quality.

Cons: None so far.

Practical and portable

Written by Ralph Graves, Staff Writer - Creative, on 9/11/2012 2:40:00 PM

The BDP-SX910 protable Blu-ray player is a simple device. The setup and controls are pretty intuitive. I popped a Blu-ray disc into it, and I was ready to go. The on-screen menu is similar to that of Sony's component Blu-ray players — just scroll across the icons to select a music, photo, or video source.

The image on the Blu-ray disc I played was very crisp, and I could see plenty of detail. I was also impressed by the sound. Even thought the speakers are small, the sound still had a spaciousness to it. Listening through a pair of high-performance headphones, the sound was even better.

The controls are built into the bottom of the screen, so they're always right where you need them. And since the screen swivels, that's an important feature — I didn't have to reach around to the base to control the movie when the screen was turned away from it.

The unit's pretty lightweight, and with the screen folded in, only about the size of a hardback novel. And that portability is a big plus. I've taken my laptop with me to show grandparents family videos and photos. It's often awkward, as I have to operate the touchpad. Just bringing a SX910 along would be much easier — especially with all the controls right on the screen panel.
