Sony ICF-C1IPMK2

Written By AJ, Cleveland, OH on Wednesday, October 07, 2009

I thought this device was perfect for the bedroom, as my spouse and I both have iPhones. After one of the iPhone upgrades from Apple, the Sony stopped recognizing the iPhone; it wouldn't charge, it wouldn't play, nothing. After calling customer service, the guy told me that the device was only certified to work w/ first-generation iPhones (note that this was nowhere on the box or the manual), and that I would have to revert back to my old version of iPhone software to make it work! I looked in the manual, and where it lists all of the different generations of iPods this thing supposedly works with, it only said "works with iPhone".

Sony ICF-C1IPMK2

Written By J. Paul, Lancaster, Pa on Saturday, January 24, 2009

Works just fine with my iPhone 3G.
Great sound and charges the iPhone predictably.
Would like to see the alarm (A/B) info more easily visable.
Snooze button more difficult to access when iPhone is in the dock.
Neither of these are deal-breakers, tho.

Good dock for iPhone

Written By Keith, Binghamton, NY on Monday, January 19, 2009

My wife wanted a simple iPhone dock to play music and listen to talk radio while in the kitchen. This product is great - good size, good features, simple, and a good price point.

Just drop the phone in and use it or the dock. Rather rather charge the phone in the Apple charger, my wife puts it in this dock to charge, then can play music!

Easy to use, easy to setup, and NO static interference!

Good sound / minor issues

Written By Bill, New York on Friday, September 12, 2008

It is a good product and one of the first to offer compatibility with the iPhone 3G. The unit has a good sound to it

A few minor issues I have with the unit are that the power cord is real light gage, which makes the unit feel cheap. The other issue is that you must pay attention when you dock the iPod. You have to ensure it is lined up (does not self center). It does have an adjustable back stop that helps.
