Ipod Touch 4th gen issues

Written By Michael, Montana on Sunday, December 25, 2011

My ipod touch 4th gen with latest 5.x iOS also tried with 4.x iOS does not play while docked. I don't have a problem physically docking it and it does charge but won't play through the speakers. I am left to playing the ipod through the aux port on the back of the docking station. So I cannot charge it and play it at the same time. I researched this issues and see many others have the same problem.
Pros:
The sound is good but I can only get it to work through the aux audio port on the back.
Cons:
My ipod touch 4th gen with latest 5.x iOS also tried with 4.x iOS does not play while docked. I don't have a problem physically docking it and it does charge but won't play through the speakers.

Sony iPod Dock Station w/ Radio and remote

Written By Mike S., Paducah, KY on Saturday, November 06, 2010

Overall nice little unit. I use it in my office where it keeps my iPod Touch
fully charged and has a nice sound with just enough volume to work by. I only
gave it a 4 rating because well, let's face it, this does not have that Bose
sound BUT it also is under $100 too. Very good value for the buck, in my
opinion. The radio picks up fairly well in my office and the presets are a nice
feature. I do not use the alarm function, so I cannot attest to the usefulness
of that feature. One thing the manual does not tell you - Make sure the iPod is
turned off when you dock it to the Sony. Use the iPod "Play" button on the unit
or remote to turn it on. If not, the sound will not come out of the unit's
speakers. Same when you go to turn it off - use the Sony's "Off" button and do
not turn off the iPod using the power button. I love it and it has plenty of
volume for the office environment and the Mega-Bass and Mega-Enhance modes do
make the sound "bigger", which is nice.

Nice Unit

Written By Eugene, Catskill Mts of NY on Friday, April 23, 2010

This Sony is a nice little unit. It has just what I want: AM/FM, clock, multiple alarms, snooze, iPod player, and remote control. The main reason I got it was to have a simple way to play my iPod, and for that it is perfect. The small remote lets me turn it on/off, adjust volume, and change songs.

On the negative side, do not confuse this with a Bose radio. The sound is good, but not like a concert hall.

One other odd thing: if I am playing the iPod and turn the unit off, it will turn back on some time later and start playing the iPod. This does not happen with the radio, so I have learned to switch to radio before turning it off. The fold-out-sheet owner's manual doesn't give any special directions for turning it off, so I either have a slightly defective unit, or that's just the way it is.

Overall, I am glad I got what I did. For the price,it's perfect.
