Features
Overview: The Sony DPF-V900 S-Frame is a digital photo frame for
easily displaying still images taken with your digital camera or other device
without using a computer.
Large 9" Wide (16:9) LCD Display: The Sony DPF-V900 Digital Photo
Frame features a large 9" wide (16:9) LCD screen to display your photos with
vibrant color and crisp detail in WVGA (800 x 480) resolution. The unit's LCD
display features backlight and brightness adjustments.
File Support and Media Storage: The unit supports JPEG, BMP, TIFF, and
RAW still image files up 8,000 x 6000 pixels and is compatible with the
following file systems - FAT12/16/32. The digital photo frame will
support up to 9,999 still image files. The DPF-V900 offers the following media
storage options.
- 512 MB Internal Storage Capacity: The Sony Digital Photo Frame
features an internal 512MB internal storage capacity with an Auto Sizing
feature which lets you store up to 1,000 still images (2,000,000 pixels
each). The Sony digital photo frame offers two modes for importing still
images to its internal memory.
- Album: compresses images and saves them to the internal
memory so you can save more images but with deterioration in image
quality
- Original: saves fewer images to the internal memory without
compressing them so there is no deterioration
- Memory Card Slot: The DPF-V900 features three memory card slots.
One is for Memory Stick Pro and Memory Stick Pro Duo media cards, the second
for SD/SDHC-cards, MMC (Multimediacards) and xD-Picture cards, and the third
for Compact Flash and Microdrive cards.
Note: You can transfer images from the unit's internal memory to
an inserted memory card (no memory card is supplied).
USB Ports: The Sony DPF-V900 S-Frame is equipped with a USB type-A and
miniUSB type-B port (USB cables not provided)
- USB type-A Port: This port can be used to connect a digital
camera, USB memory device, or photo storage device with support of mass
storage to the DPF-V900 for transferring of still images. You can also
export images from the unit's internal memory to an external mass storage
device via USB.
- miniUSB type-B Port: You can use this port to connect your
computer to view and copy images of the internal memory of the digital photo
frame to your computer, and copy images of your computer to the digital
photo frame. You computer must meet the following Operating System
requirements and feature a USB port to connect to the DPF-V900.
- Windows: Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows XP Service Pack 2
or Windows 2000 Professional Service Pack 4.
- Macintosh: Mac OS X (10.4) or later pre-installed at the time
of shipment from the factory
Photo Playback: You can display your photos in various playback modes.
- Single Image Display: displays a single image on the 9" LCD
screen; you can select from two modes
- Entire Image: displays an entire image in the screen in its
original aspect ratio
- Fit To Screen: displays an image over the whole screen
regardless of aspect ratio
- Image Information Mode: displays image information such as
the image number, file name and shooting date
- Index Image Display: displays a list of multiple small thumbnail
images; you can choose from two modes
- 30 Images: 5 rows x 6 columns
- 12 Images: 3 rows x 4 columns
- Clock Display: displays only the unit's clock or calendar without
an image being displayed; you can choose from two modes
- Analog Clock: displays time on an analog clock
- Digital Clock: displays the date and time on a digital clock
- Slideshow Display: the unit features four slideshow modes to
choose from
- Single View: images are displayed in a single screen one
after another with the following effect (Center cross, Vertical blinds,
Horizontal blinds, Fade, Wipe, or Random)
- Multiple Image: displays multiple images at the same timer
(switches between multiple images)
- Clock View: display single images one after another with the
date and time displayed
- Calendar View: displays images on after another while showing
the calendar
- Random View: displays images while switching between the
above four slideshow patterns
Integrated Stand: The Sony digital photo frames features an integrated
stand-prop which allows you to place the photo frame in a portrait or landscape
orientation by rotating the stand-leg.
Auto Orientation: The digital photo frame's Auto Orientation sensor
automatically selects portrait or landscape view depending on the horizontal or
vertical placement of the frame.
Playback Zoom: You can enlarge an image to maximum 5 times the
original scale. You can then pan through the entire enlarged image.
Image Rotation: You can rotate an image 360-degrees clockwise or
counterclockwise in 90-degree increments.
Auto Touch-Up: The DPF-V900's Auto Touch-Up feature uses Sony's
high-performance BIONZ image processor and Face Detection technology to improve
photos through the following features.
- Skin Smoothing: automatically recognizes face parts, and adjusts
the skin tone for a smoother look
- Backlight Correction: adjusts the brightness by using the face
detect function
- Focus Correction: improves the focus of an out-of focus image to
create a better-focused image
- Red-Eye Correction: automatically detects faces and corrects
red-eye caused by the flash
HDMI Output With Photo TV HD: The DPF-V900's HDMI output lets
you share images and slideshows on your compatible HDTV in full HD 1080 quality.
The photo frame supports Photo TV HD, which is a function for expressing subtle
textures an color tones in high definition, giving the appearance of real
photos. You can combine Sony devices that support Photo TV HD together to enjoy
photos at beautiful full HD quality through HDMI connection (HDMI cable sold
separately).
Remote Control: The unit's supplied remote control lets you navigate
the digital photo frame without leaving the comfort of your couch or office
chair. The remote operates off of a single CR2025 3V lithium battery
(installed).
Bravia Sync: If your Sony Bravia television supports the control for
HDMI (Bravia Sync) and is connected to the DPF-V900 using HDMI, you can use the
remote control of your compatible Sony television to operate this photo frame.
Bluetooth Ready: You can connect a Bluetooth adapter (sold separately)
to the USB type-A connector of this digital photo frame and transfer images from
a Bluetooth compatible mobile hone or other device. The transferred images are
saved to the unit's internal memory.
Timers: You can set for the Sony DPF-V900 S-Frame to turn On and Off
automatically by entering hour and minute.
Power Supply: The Sony DPF-V900 operates off of standard household AC
power using its supplied AC adaptor and cord.
