Sony built the CDX-GT570UP CD receiver around the same Digital Reality amp you'll find in their higher-priced car stereos. This unique amp design delivers surprising power combined with an accurate, deep soundstage so music sounds more natural inside your vehicle.
If you're a sonic tweaker, you'll have plenty of options. Sony includes a 7-band equalizer, digital time correction for sharp and precise stereo imaging, and DM+, which improves the sound of your compressed music. You can also activate the Rear Bass Enhancer which sends only low frequencies to your rear speakers, improving your bass and pulling the soundstage forward.
And here's a cool trick — Subwoofer Direct Connection lets you combine the output of the receiver's two rear channels to drive a small subwoofer. That's great if you're driving a small compact or a pickup truck and want some extra kick without adding an amp or powered subwoofer.
With that great sound comes plenty of ways to enjoy your music. In addition to a CD player with MP3 and WMA playback, the CDX-GT570UP comes equipped with front-panel auxiliary and USB inputs. You can plug in your iPod® or iPhone® to the USB port and enjoy control from the receiver, with nifty search tools like Quick Browzer and ZAPPIN that let you scan and find music quickly.
And if you're a Pandora® Internet radio fan, you can plug in your iPhone then browse stations or rate songs from the receiver's controls. You can add SiriusXM's compact tuner, and experience the impressive programming and coast-to-coast reception that makes satellite radio so popular.
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.
Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.
Had to connect wire to wire but took only 40 minutes and it's all colour coded.
The sound is brilliant and the multi media facility just fine so very happy
Cons: Would like more visible controls
I really love my new Sony. From ease of installation, the look and functions, it is a great choice for a new stereo.
Pros: Install went well, sounds great.
Super fast install.thanks Crutchfield for saving the trouble of finding the matching car connectors that you included for FREE...made for a real easy install
Pros: Great radio for the price..... Sony quality....
Cons: none so far..
Very easy to install and sounds great! Good upgrade from the factory stereo
I've had this reciever for a couple months now, I put in new speakers with this and my car is sounding better than ever. You can change so many settings with this amp and make it your own with the music you like.
Great sound easy to install
Pros: easy to install, nice display, great sound
Sony has always come through for me. It is a lot easier to use than the Kenwood that I had. I really enjoy my new Sony. Thanks for having good quality products at such great prices.
Pros: very good quality at great pices
Super deal and a great upgrade for my 1995 Honda Del Sol (previously stock cassette player). Easy to install and use. You'd have to be 5 years old to not be able to install and operate this.
Cons: Missing Bluetooth (but I could have paid more for the next model up, so not really a con of this product at this price).
Easy to operate, sound is perfect for me, very easy to install and the best support group. And the installation kit worked perfect.
Pros: Great install kit and stereo. The support group are the best, which will keep me coming back.
I like the head unit, good price for the features. Would of been nice to have color options.
Pros: Good quality. Great options.
Cons: Harness from head unit is very small wire
Good sounding stereo with many features found on more expensive units. Love the different equalizer settings including the ability to customize the sound the way I want. Radio works great and can pull in stations that my previous radio couldn't. Shipping was fast and the helpful instructions from Crutchfield made installation quick and easy.
Pros: Features, price, look, easy install, helpful Sony instructions, and remote.
Cons: Took a while to set up the unit due to the number of features, but Sony directions walk you through each one.
Just needed a replacement stereo for my daughter that would work with a phone. Got a great deal from Crutchfield, guaranteed fit, all the install parts and instructions I needed. With the wiring harness done, I did the install in less than 45 minutes.
Exceeds expectations for the price.
Always but Sony radios and this is the quality and sound that I expect from them.
Pros: simple to use
Cons: brightness of unit doesn't dim when the vehicle lights are turned on. i.e. at night
Great unit for the price. Lots of options, too.
Pros: Easy to install and looks good.
Typical Sony quality
Great Unit for the price.
Pros: Easy installation Great Features
Cons: None that I found
Like stereo and ease of use, ability to feed other sources (smart phone with Pandora, MP3's, iPOD, etc) into stereo through USB port, quality is good and ease of replacing a Toyota Tundra OEM radio was easy
Sony does not disappoint - Ever. This stereo is right up there with all of the other Sony car stereos I have purchased in the past.
Pros: Ease of use Ease of install
Cons: No cons
Bought for my daughters 2002 Saturn first car, and sounds amazing with the factory speakers. May upgrade speakers later, but she's pretty happy right now, and that's what counts. Radio reception is fantastic, it works great with her Iphone, and it looks good in the car. I was very happy with the price and the quick delivery and secure packaging. Will buy again from Crutchfield.
Pros: Great quality for a good price
Easy to install. Great sound!
This radio is used in all our trucks. Easy to install into the cab of trucks, pickups & equipment. These unit are XM Ready and easy to install after unit is in place. There is a USB ports so playing other music is not a problem. Our Employees use the port to charge phones. Just a good Radio!
Pros: This radio just works well, The connector on the Sony molex plug has stayed the same. so changing out a bad radio is a snap.
Cons: None that I have found?
Great radio - easy to install
Pros: Great price - Great Brand - quality product
I had just about had it with the factory unit in my 2002 ford focus. I had it fixed twice and now the radio would cut out half way to work each Day..The price on this SONY was just right. had all the features I wanted, more than I needed really. The kit to install it fits great and it looks like a factory install. The whole job only took me about 30 minutes and I took my time!!!?? Crutchfield is great..this is my first time using them, but it wont be my last.
Pros: price, sound quality and looks really cool.
Cons: menu to change bass/treble ect has a lot of steps, and you really cant do it while driving..but I'll get used to it, its not that bad, but is the only minor "con" I can find.
works great sounds good and I'm thinking about getting another one
Great Radio for the money especially being XM compatible.
Pros: Detachable face, great graphics, remote, easy install.
This radio works great for what I need it for...which is primarily listening to XM. I bought the tuner and it works seamlessly.
Pros: Great price and looks nice.
Cons: There are so many features that I think the display could be a little better. Kind of hard to figure it out without looking at the instructions.
Very good low cost radio. Good sound easy installation.
Pros: the total package came with everything needed to install this replacement radio in a 2002 Tacoma.
Cons: Only thing that could be added is the heat shrink insulation.
Good basic radio for the price. Controls are limited to a single knob that controls most everything. Sort of a pain until you figure out how to navigate thru the menus.
Pros: Perfect fit in my 1998 Ford van. Quick install & everything worked the first time
Cons: Sony's wires are extremely light, which creates a little challenge for attaching to adapter wiring kit
I use this deck for everything from AM talk radio to playin iHeart radio on my iPhone. The deck quickly goes from apps on the phone, controls them all effortlessly. Very good sound, great built in 7 band EQ. It plays perfect and easy installation into my 2007 Crown Victoria.
Pros: Ease of use. Looks Sound quality for the price point. Easy to program with instructions.
Cons: The remote doesn't work unless the remote is right in front of the unit. It appears to be a problem of where they placed the IR reader on the face plate.
I thoroughly enjoy this radio. so much better than the old Volvo factory unit. Menus are not intuitive to me but I'm not much of a tech person. Adapter faceplate and wiring harness adapter fit perfectly. Installed in 35 minutes.
Crutchfield's search factor allowed me to find exactly what I was looking for and I got everything I needed to install it. Installation was also a breeze, even in a right hand drive jeep. The unit looks great and it does take a little messing with it to get used to changing the settings but for the price and Wyatt you get for your money I won't be buying audio equipment from anyone else.
Pros: Free accessories, aesthetics, learning curve
When the radio in my 2002 Tacoma stopped working I called the Toyota dealer and learned that a replacement would cost $195 + tax. So, I turned to Crutchfield and got a much better (SONY) radio with a CD player and a remote control and all the parts needed to install it for less than a $75. And, your customer assistance team helped me to pick a radio that fit my vehicle. Keep on truckin' Crutchfield!
Pros: Cost was about 1/3 of dealer price. Good looking. All the features I was looking for. Beautiful sound. And, the CD ejector actually works, unlike the original equipment.
I'm never disappointed with a Sony product. This one didn't fail me either. I bought it for my "get around" Honda and it is perfect for the price. Only issue is it does not dim when you turn the headlights/running lights on. Another great product from Sony
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Display doesn't dim with lights on
Replaced a factory AM/FM only unit in a 2009 GMC Canyon. Huge difference in sound quality, volume and reception ability with more features than I could use for this application. Can only imagine the improvement if used in a vehicle with more speakers and/or additional components.
Pros: Great sound, can pick up many more stations than before, looks great and lots of features.
I bought an '03 pilot, and wanted to still use my Siriusxm radio. The Sony has an auxiliary jack on the front that I plugged right into. There are more feature than I'll ever use, but the sound is fine even with my factory speakers. A great deal for the money!
Pros: Great price, performance, flexibility. The Crutchfield team made my first time install easy and painless.
great product and the help team at Crutchfield was the greatest
great price, easy to install and all the features you could ask for with a super price!
Pros: loaded with features
Great receiver at a great price.
I installed this radio in 1993 Ford Crown Victoria. I followed the instructions provided and the installation was easy. In connecting the wires on the radio plugs, I decided to twist the wires together and covered the twist with a small piece of shrink tubing. All of the functions in the radio worked properly. The sound is great! I do not plan to use the remote. I believe this is a lot of radio considering the small purchase price. I would recommend this radio to a friend.
Pros: Good sound, good functions, good price and easy to install in an older car.
Cons: Comparing this radio to my old one, this radio will take some time to learn all of the new functions and which button to push.
I really like the feature to price ratio of this unit. It is not as easy to fade and balance the one button does all menu radios, but that is not often used and not super important. The usb feature works great and labels show on folders that other stereos I have used the same thumb drive on don't.
Works great, good sound quality. Like all these things, functionality takes a few turns to get used to. Only complaint is the remote seems very limited on range/angle that it works. more so then even usual with this kind of thing.
Pros: good lighting, great sound quality, works well with usb sticks, ipod, cds and radio. have not tried bluetooth/pandora functions.
Cons: poor range on remote. mind as well just hit the buttons.
I am very pleased with this player. Installation was fairly straight-forward, and the results are amazing. Sound quality is suberb, and basic operation is easy. As with most of the units on the market today it has many functions available once you figure out the steps necessary to access them. This unit is no more complicated than the rest, but it will take some time to get used to it. I would easily recommend this unit to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade.
Pros: Great sound Low cost Easy installation
Cons: Somewaht complicated controls (just like most new units)
Great radio for the price. Installation directions were easy to understand. The radio and mounting kit just snapped into the truck without a problem. Going to buy the same radio for my son's truck.
Pros: Price, functions, USB connection
Great radio. No problems and it is easy to use.
Pros: Easy to use and it looks cool in the truck. Lots of things to do with it.
For the price, this unit rocks!! I have a simple set in my Honda Accord and it sounds good. I'm happy with my purchase.
Pros: Simple to operate, great price, tons of features
Glad I bought it, replacing the one that came in my used 2005 Toyota Scion. Install was easy with the provided kit (parts just snapped into place on the radio). Wiring was easy with the kit, too. Sounds great, controls took a little getting used to but they make sense. The only problem?
Now my wife wants one.
Pros: Most of the features I wanted - accessory input, USB input, great sound, easy to use.
Cons: Not really a con - it doesn't have bluetooth, but then, it didn't say it did. If you don't have a hands free device already, you may want to go to the next one up that has this feature. Other than that, it was a GREAT buy, and Crutchfield's extras made it more than worthwhile.
This is a great budget friendly head unit. I have put this model in two different vehicles now. For the price it has a great range of features. The sound quality is excellent for the price. The DM+ really does a good job at restoring the sound quality to mp3 files. The Rear Bass Enhancer setting is great for turning the rear speakers into mids to add some bass.
Pros: Lots of features
Cons: No Bluetooth or HD Radio
XLNT radio, nice features, good sound. Small display and labeling hard to read. Good value and improved over earlier Sonys. Installation was very difficult due to cheap complicated mounting kit supplied by Crutchfields. Previously Crutchfields supplied quality accessories but now going cheap at risk of their reputation...Shame.
Pros: value, sound
Cons: small display and controls. crappy mounting kit.
This Radio has amazing sound quality and the build of it feels very sturdy and solid. I love this radio
Cons: Difficult to understand on screen settings
Great value and sound for the money. This unit has lots of features!
Pros: Plays multiple formats
This is actually a pretty good radio despite being one of the cheaper ones from Sony. It does everything I wanted, scrolls song ID, front aux input, USB, dimmer for nighttime driving. I still play CD's but also listen to internet radio, especially NPR. The install was unusual and I had to wait for the correct adaptor because the factory radio turned out to be a different one from what we thought. This Explorer has a mach system in it but you don't know that until you remove the radio from the dash since it is isn't written on the face of the radio or the speakers or the dash.
Pros: I would buy it again. The problems were taken care of by customer support and I'm a happy camper.
Cons: It would have been nice to get it right just by inistalling the supplied parts and not having to call tech support but they were a lot of help and really the install wasn't that big a deal.
Good receiver from Sony for the price. Great sound with built-in amp. Have'nt had time to try out all the features yet.
Pros: Features: usb, aux, cd, and radio
Cons: flimsy control knob
Lots of good features for $75. A little tricky to figure out, but thanks to Crutchfield tech support, I was able to figure out how to turn on the rear bass enhancement function. Some of the settings can only be changed if you turn off the radio and then press the menu button.
Easy install, great sound quality ( once you adjust the equalizer to your liking/vehicle), I got this as an open box special for $65 and feel I stole it
Pros: Sound quality, power, reception
Cons: My pickup has a rough ride and the small buttons are hard to hit sometimes while driving.
Great entry level receiver; The preset EQ settings are nice, however being able to personally tune the system would be nice. But I understand at this price point it's what it is.
Pros: Preset EQ setting options
Cons: Unable to manually set EQ settings (bass, treble, crossover, etc)
Such a great full sound in a small package. This is sor sure one of the best Sony products.
Pros: I love the remote that comes with it.
Pros: easy install great price
Cons: no cons !!
Awesome stereo for the price. Many of the features I would have thought I would have to pay more for. The built in amp has plenty of power for normal car speakers. It is very loud. The built in 7 band eq also makes customizing the sound very easy.
Pros: Sound customization, powerful built in amp, ease of operation, easy installation
Cons: No ability to change display colors.
For the money you cannot go wrong with this one. Great unit.
I just purchased the CDX-570UP. The price was so reasonable, I couldn't believe the features it has. The sound quality is just mindblowing. I'm using it in conjunction with a Clarion XM 1410, 4 channel Amplifier. The Amp is driving 4 Infinity Reference 8632 cf, speakers.
Pros: The features that is has, including Custom EQ settings, Time Alignment, Variable Hi Low Pass filters, A very sensitive FM tuner...All that for under $ 70.00.
Cons: The only fault I've found, is that the Mode/ Volume control, feels really thin, and light.
Really great unit. Does everything I need, and price was amazing. Installation was a breeze in my 1991 Silverado Extra-cab.
It's alright. If I had to do it all again, I'd spend more and get something nicer.
Pros: Looks cool at night. Aux port
Cons: It likes to "talk" a lot. Doesn't always work the way it should.
Great unit for $69
Cons: none I could find
Very small buttons, small labels, obviously not for older user. Good sound and appearance. Ok for user friendliness.
Great value, sounds really good.
Pros: Easy install, looks great. Display nice.
Cons: None at present
Put in Tundra. Wanted to play satellite radio through system without FM signal. Previously had purchased a plug in for the back of the factory radio. However, got bad feedback on the satellite radio. Opted to try a new radio. Worked great. Improved sound of existing speakers. Pulled in stations on FM that could not be reached through old radio.
Pros: Good sound. Good reception. Audio in and I-Phone plug in work terrific.
Cons: Menu and lay out of buttons is not intuitive. Have sat down with directions and it still gets confusing.
Great sound from this unit. It replaces a 4 year old Sony unit has all the features plus some the old unit didn't have for $30 less
Pros: great feature and sound.
Cons: None yet
This is a replacement for the factory radio in 2004 Honda CR-V. With the kit it is almost plug and play. Almost, because I added a SiriusXM Tuner and had to do a little splicing. With the Crutchfield kit, this was a snap to install. Sound is extraordinary and the controls are very easy to navigate and use. It is a solid buy at a great price.
Pros: Price, quality, flexibility for AUX, USB and SiriusXM tuner inputs.
Cons: Still looking...
Very nice radio for the price. Bought one for my 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport Liked it so much bought another one for my Sons 2000 Volvo C-70.
Pros: Great sound Cool Features
Does exactly what I wanted it to do.
Cons: None so far
I like everything besides the fact of adjusting the equality of the music, it is a different set up, and takes a bit to get use to. It's great for what it does but would like more of a bass adjuster or I guess I haven't figured it out yet
Pros: Good sound quality Relatively user friendly Good price
Cons: Can't adjust the equality to easy
Excellent radio, easy to use, sounds great, and looks great. All around good purchase, I definitely do not regret choosing Crutchfield and I'll will recommend them to everyone in need of a radio.
Decent entry level stereo with good overall versatility. The buttons have a cheap feel, which is common with most of today's head units, unfortunately. I treat all my equipment well, so like other sony decks I've had in the past, I expect it to last years.
Pros: 2 sets rca outs (2v) subwoofer section with crossover, slope, phase, and sound position USB with easy to navigate folder buttons Excellent antenna sensitivity-pulls a station on nearly every single frequency (ex-107.1, 107.3, 107.5) listening position adjustment Turning beep and exit vehicle beep off option nice illumination. Clear and easy to read in the daytime.
Cons: Main volume knob is easily pushed in while adjusting volume, entering menu mode. So sometimes when youre in a hurry to turn it up or down, you enter menu mode, which holds the volume until you escape out of menu mode with the back button. Then you can turn it up or down. Can be distracting and annoying for the new user. The 7 band eq doesnt quite hit the sweet spot for me. The mids never seem quite right. All the sound presets (xplod, vocal, rock, etc) I find unusable,
Installed as part of a full factory replacement on a 2014 Nissan Sentra. Sound quality and volume are good and it has all the features I would ever need. The menu is not that difficult to navigate but it takes some "practice" to remember were are the settings you are looking for. As allways the installation kit made things easier, faster and gave that "original equipment" look.
Pros: Nice sound and set of features for the money.
Cons: Not really a con, but the installation didn,t look to me as good as those I did in the past because I had a Single-DIN unit on a Double-Din opening. So I replaced it with the Kenwood DPX300U which now looks at home and gained me some extra features.
It is good for the money
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Nothing bad about it,
This Radio is a great deal at a great price. I love the sound it puts out.
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Navigation of the menu could be a little easier.
I installed this radio into a 1941 Ford Pick-up, the style and design of the radio really add a new age look to the interior of a classic ride.
This receiver is a great value. I was looking for a SiriusXM ready receiver. This one has all the bells and whistles with front and rear AUX inputs, Pandora, a top-notch CD reader (it reads everything), and subwoofer inputs. Great plug and play capabilities make this a great receiver. The one downside is the menu for navigation. I've seen similar problems with other Sony products. The menu is almost too detailed. You'll have to go through an extensive sound shaping process to balance the sound appropriately if you have custom speakers and subwoofers. You'd probably be best off buying crossovers to control the sound because the menu has too many options and one slight adjustment can completely change the sound.
Pros: Great options for the price. Easy plug and play for devices.
Cons: It's easy to get lost in menu land.
Bought to replace an Alpine whose Sirius module went South and which I found difficult to operate. It was a a straightforward swap, but in process it appeared to give me better sound quality than the touted Alpine unit, plus it was infinitely easier to operate. Bonus is the understated illumination, a marked contrast to the multi colored Alpine.
Pros: Much easier to operate, more 'dignified', stops on the volume/control knob prevent inadvertent changes. Better sound quality through same speaks.
Cons: Probably not the best unit for a real audiophile due to its simplicity and fewer adjustments available. Perfect unit for me for Sirius and iPod. Would rather have the USB port on the rear than front of unit.
I installed this unit in my Daughters 1996 Rodeo as an upgrade to the factory unit. Even with the original speakers the sound was a big upgrade. The installation was a breeze wit the included Master sheets. The look, fit, and build of the Sony was very impressive at this price point. Having a front USB port and Aux audio port make connecting your device a snap. The tuner locks in on stations very well with more presets than radio stations you will ever listen to. If you are looking for a budget friendly unit with lot's of features and great sound. This Sony will not disappoint.
Pros: Looks good. Won't break the bank. Tons of features with great sound. Solid build with room for expansion.
Cons: The control are not the most intuitive. Some older people might be intimidated by the controls. The manual will come in handy while learning all the features.
An absolutely fantastic system for the low price.... it has many more features than I need or will ever use; it will do everything I want and more. My only dislike of this system is that is don't find it user friendly to operate, but given some time to use it, all should be fine. With all the wiring schematics, harnesses and adapters provided, the installation was extremely easy. I was a bit aggravated to have to go to the auto parts store for crimp connectors being they was the only thing missing to complete the installation.... would be nice if, when ordering, the sales assistant would mention needing such connectors and that Crutchfield offers same. Otherwise, from sales to technical support, Crutchfield has been outstanding!!
Pros: It's a SONY!! great value nice appearance clean, clear sound
Cons: Not user friendly to operate, at first. Everything for the installation was provided except crimp connectors.
Great sound at bargain price.
First time ever installing a car stereo and I'm 40. Must say that after watching videos and following easy directions, it was very simple to install. Saved about $250 to $300 doing it on my own and getting the accessories needed as a bundle.
Pros: Sounds insane. Looks great. Has all I need and want. CD, USB, aux, pandora, Siriusxm. Fantastic.
Cons: Need to really read directions to learn how to use perfectly.
You get what you pay for. That's how I would describe this head unit. It is just want I wanted. The cheapest name brand CD player with pandora controls, rds, and USB. I also picked it for 17w rms which was higher than the other cea compliant units. The iPod controls are a little quirky. It wants to auto shuffle even though shuffle is off. Great fm reception and sound quality. Wish the menus were simpler, but that's sony for you. I prefer Alpine but can't beat the features and price of this unit!
Pros: High pass filter, Price, FM Reception, Sound quality, Remote, RDS, USB, Pandora controls, 2 Sets of pre amps, just loaded with features
Cons: Complicated menus, iPod controls don't always work, Slow response to remote
This head unit was a great value. Had the features i was looking for, USB port and CD, at a fantastic price. Installation was easy and it is easy to use.
Pros: price, features, ease of use
Cons: can't change color scheme
It sounds pretty good and was easy to install
Pros: It looks good .
Cons: I'm having trouble figuring out to get optimum sound with EQ settings to complicated for average user .
great deck for a great price
