Powerful sound

Sony built the CDX-GT570UP CD receiver around the same Digital Reality amp you'll find in their higher-priced car stereos. This unique amp design delivers surprising power combined with an accurate, deep soundstage so music sounds more natural inside your vehicle.

If you're a sonic tweaker, you'll have plenty of options. Sony includes a 7-band equalizer, digital time correction for sharp and precise stereo imaging, and DM+, which improves the sound of your compressed music. You can also activate the Rear Bass Enhancer which sends only low frequencies to your rear speakers, improving your bass and pulling the soundstage forward.

Sony CDX-GT570UP

Add a sub without adding an amp

And here's a cool trick — Subwoofer Direct Connection lets you combine the output of the receiver's two rear channels to drive a small subwoofer. That's great if you're driving a small compact or a pickup truck and want some extra kick without adding an amp or powered subwoofer.

Plenty of options

With that great sound comes plenty of ways to enjoy your music. In addition to a CD player with MP3 and WMA playback, the CDX-GT570UP comes equipped with front-panel auxiliary and USB inputs. You can plug in your iPod® or iPhone® to the USB port and enjoy control from the receiver, with nifty search tools like Quick Browzer and ZAPPIN that let you scan and find music quickly.

And if you're a Pandora® Internet radio fan, you can plug in your iPhone then browse stations or rate songs from the receiver's controls. You can add SiriusXM's compact tuner, and experience the impressive programming and coast-to-coast reception that makes satellite radio so popular.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

Super deal and a great upgrade for my 1995 Honda Del Sol (previously stock cassette player). Easy to install and use. You'd have to be 5 years old to not be able to install and operate this.

    Pros: Everything

Cons: Missing Bluetooth (but I could have paid more for the next model up, so not really a con of this product at this price).

Good sounding stereo with many features found on more expensive units. Love the different equalizer settings including the ability to customize the sound the way I want. Radio works great and can pull in stations that my previous radio couldn't. Shipping was fast and the helpful instructions from Crutchfield made installation quick and easy.

Pros: Features, price, look, easy install, helpful Sony instructions, and remote.

Cons: Took a while to set up the unit due to the number of features, but Sony directions walk you through each one.

I had just about had it with the factory unit in my 2002 ford focus. I had it fixed twice and now the radio would cut out half way to work each Day..The price on this SONY was just right. had all the features I wanted, more than I needed really. The kit to install it fits great and it looks like a factory install. The whole job only took me about 30 minutes and I took my time!!!?? Crutchfield is great..this is my first time using them, but it wont be my last.

Pros: price, sound quality and looks really cool.

Cons: menu to change bass/treble ect has a lot of steps, and you really cant do it while driving..but I'll get used to it, its not that bad, but is the only minor "con" I can find.

When the radio in my 2002 Tacoma stopped working I called the Toyota dealer and learned that a replacement would cost $195 + tax. So, I turned to Crutchfield and got a much better (SONY) radio with a CD player and a remote control and all the parts needed to install it for less than a $75. And, your customer assistance team helped me to pick a radio that fit my vehicle. Keep on truckin' Crutchfield!

Pros: Cost was about 1/3 of dealer price. Good looking. All the features I was looking for. Beautiful sound. And, the CD ejector actually works, unlike the original equipment.

I installed this radio in 1993 Ford Crown Victoria. I followed the instructions provided and the installation was easy. In connecting the wires on the radio plugs, I decided to twist the wires together and covered the twist with a small piece of shrink tubing. All of the functions in the radio worked properly. The sound is great! I do not plan to use the remote. I believe this is a lot of radio considering the small purchase price. I would recommend this radio to a friend.

Pros: Good sound, good functions, good price and easy to install in an older car.

I really like the feature to price ratio of this unit. It is not as easy to fade and balance the one button does all menu radios, but that is not often used and not super important. The usb feature works great and labels show on folders that other stereos I have used the same thumb drive on don't.

Works great, good sound quality. Like all these things, functionality takes a few turns to get used to. Only complaint is the remote seems very limited on range/angle that it works. more so then even usual with this kind of thing.

Pros: good lighting, great sound quality, works well with usb sticks, ipod, cds and radio. have not tried bluetooth/pandora functions.

Cons: poor range on remote. mind as well just hit the buttons.

I am very pleased with this player. Installation was fairly straight-forward, and the results are amazing. Sound quality is suberb, and basic operation is easy. As with most of the units on the market today it has many functions available once you figure out the steps necessary to access them. This unit is no more complicated than the rest, but it will take some time to get used to it. I would easily recommend this unit to anyone looking for an affordable upgrade.

Pros: Great sound Low cost Easy installation

Cons: Somewaht complicated controls (just like most new units)

Glad I bought it, replacing the one that came in my used 2005 Toyota Scion. Install was easy with the provided kit (parts just snapped into place on the radio). Wiring was easy with the kit, too. Sounds great, controls took a little getting used to but they make sense. The only problem?

    Now my wife wants one.

Pros: Most of the features I wanted - accessory input, USB input, great sound, easy to use.

Cons: Not really a con - it doesn't have bluetooth, but then, it didn't say it did. If you don't have a hands free device already, you may want to go to the next one up that has this feature. Other than that, it was a GREAT buy, and Crutchfield's extras made it more than worthwhile.

This is actually a pretty good radio despite being one of the cheaper ones from Sony. It does everything I wanted, scrolls song ID, front aux input, USB, dimmer for nighttime driving. I still play CD's but also listen to internet radio, especially NPR. The install was unusual and I had to wait for the correct adaptor because the factory radio turned out to be a different one from what we thought. This Explorer has a mach system in it but you don't know that until you remove the radio from the dash since it is isn't written on the face of the radio or the speakers or the dash.

Pros: I would buy it again. The problems were taken care of by customer support and I'm a happy camper.

Cons: It would have been nice to get it right just by inistalling the supplied parts and not having to call tech support but they were a lot of help and really the install wasn't that big a deal.

I just purchased the CDX-570UP. The price was so reasonable, I couldn't believe the features it has. The sound quality is just mindblowing. I'm using it in conjunction with a Clarion XM 1410, 4 channel Amplifier. The Amp is driving 4 Infinity Reference 8632 cf, speakers.

Pros: The features that is has, including Custom EQ settings, Time Alignment, Variable Hi Low Pass filters, A very sensitive FM tuner...All that for under $ 70.00.

Decent entry level stereo with good overall versatility. The buttons have a cheap feel, which is common with most of today's head units, unfortunately. I treat all my equipment well, so like other sony decks I've had in the past, I expect it to last years.

Pros: 2 sets rca outs (2v) subwoofer section with crossover, slope, phase, and sound position USB with easy to navigate folder buttons Excellent antenna sensitivity-pulls a station on nearly every single frequency (ex-107.1, 107.3, 107.5) listening position adjustment Turning beep and exit vehicle beep off option nice illumination. Clear and easy to read in the daytime.

Cons: Main volume knob is easily pushed in while adjusting volume, entering menu mode. So sometimes when youre in a hurry to turn it up or down, you enter menu mode, which holds the volume until you escape out of menu mode with the back button. Then you can turn it up or down. Can be distracting and annoying for the new user. The 7 band eq doesnt quite hit the sweet spot for me. The mids never seem quite right. All the sound presets (xplod, vocal, rock, etc) I find unusable,

Installed as part of a full factory replacement on a 2014 Nissan Sentra. Sound quality and volume are good and it has all the features I would ever need. The menu is not that difficult to navigate but it takes some "practice" to remember were are the settings you are looking for. As allways the installation kit made things easier, faster and gave that "original equipment" look.

Pros: Nice sound and set of features for the money.

Cons: Not really a con, but the installation didn,t look to me as good as those I did in the past because I had a Single-DIN unit on a Double-Din opening. So I replaced it with the Kenwood DPX300U which now looks at home and gained me some extra features.

This receiver is a great value. I was looking for a SiriusXM ready receiver. This one has all the bells and whistles with front and rear AUX inputs, Pandora, a top-notch CD reader (it reads everything), and subwoofer inputs. Great plug and play capabilities make this a great receiver. The one downside is the menu for navigation. I've seen similar problems with other Sony products. The menu is almost too detailed. You'll have to go through an extensive sound shaping process to balance the sound appropriately if you have custom speakers and subwoofers. You'd probably be best off buying crossovers to control the sound because the menu has too many options and one slight adjustment can completely change the sound.

Pros: Great options for the price. Easy plug and play for devices.

Cons: It's easy to get lost in menu land.

Bought to replace an Alpine whose Sirius module went South and which I found difficult to operate. It was a a straightforward swap, but in process it appeared to give me better sound quality than the touted Alpine unit, plus it was infinitely easier to operate. Bonus is the understated illumination, a marked contrast to the multi colored Alpine.

Pros: Much easier to operate, more 'dignified', stops on the volume/control knob prevent inadvertent changes. Better sound quality through same speaks.

Cons: Probably not the best unit for a real audiophile due to its simplicity and fewer adjustments available. Perfect unit for me for Sirius and iPod. Would rather have the USB port on the rear than front of unit.

I installed this unit in my Daughters 1996 Rodeo as an upgrade to the factory unit. Even with the original speakers the sound was a big upgrade. The installation was a breeze wit the included Master sheets. The look, fit, and build of the Sony was very impressive at this price point. Having a front USB port and Aux audio port make connecting your device a snap. The tuner locks in on stations very well with more presets than radio stations you will ever listen to. If you are looking for a budget friendly unit with lot's of features and great sound. This Sony will not disappoint.

Pros: Looks good. Won't break the bank. Tons of features with great sound. Solid build with room for expansion.

Cons: The control are not the most intuitive. Some older people might be intimidated by the controls. The manual will come in handy while learning all the features.

An absolutely fantastic system for the low price.... it has many more features than I need or will ever use; it will do everything I want and more. My only dislike of this system is that is don't find it user friendly to operate, but given some time to use it, all should be fine. With all the wiring schematics, harnesses and adapters provided, the installation was extremely easy. I was a bit aggravated to have to go to the auto parts store for crimp connectors being they was the only thing missing to complete the installation.... would be nice if, when ordering, the sales assistant would mention needing such connectors and that Crutchfield offers same. Otherwise, from sales to technical support, Crutchfield has been outstanding!!

Pros: It's a SONY!! great value nice appearance clean, clear sound

Cons: Not user friendly to operate, at first. Everything for the installation was provided except crimp connectors.

First time ever installing a car stereo and I'm 40. Must say that after watching videos and following easy directions, it was very simple to install. Saved about $250 to $300 doing it on my own and getting the accessories needed as a bundle.

Pros: Sounds insane. Looks great. Has all I need and want. CD, USB, aux, pandora, Siriusxm. Fantastic.

Cons: Need to really read directions to learn how to use perfectly.

You get what you pay for. That's how I would describe this head unit. It is just want I wanted. The cheapest name brand CD player with pandora controls, rds, and USB. I also picked it for 17w rms which was higher than the other cea compliant units. The iPod controls are a little quirky. It wants to auto shuffle even though shuffle is off. Great fm reception and sound quality. Wish the menus were simpler, but that's sony for you. I prefer Alpine but can't beat the features and price of this unit!

Pros: High pass filter, Price, FM Reception, Sound quality, Remote, RDS, USB, Pandora controls, 2 Sets of pre amps, just loaded with features

Cons: Complicated menus, iPod controls don't always work, Slow response to remote

    Great Value and Features
