Bring your music back to life

When you turn up your favorite song on the road, you expect it to sound just as good in your car as it does in your head. If your current system is falling flat, Sony's XS Series speakers perform with verve and gusto to bring your music back to life.

Rugged construction for high power handling

These XS-GTR1720 6-1/2"/6-3/4" speakers feature incredibly lightweight, mica-reinforced woofers that are both airy and stiff, so they can produce big sound without warping or distorting. A supple rubber surround supports the woofer, helping to keep it centered during heavy excursion so you enjoy full bass. The high-energy magnet and nimble motor structure drive the cone with precision so the vocals and instruments sound natural.

Aluminum dome tweeter

Vibrant highs from the 1" aluminum dome tweeter mean you'll hear expressive vocals and cymbal work. Built-in crossovers keep your highs in flawless balance with your mids and lows, and even let you power the tweeters and woofers separately for enhanced performance and efficiency. You can angle the tweeters towards your ears so you'll catch every satisfying detail. These speakers are almost identical in construction to Sony's GS-1720 speakers, which sell for $149.99, so they'll give you some serious bang for your buck.

Why replace your factory speakers?

The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Hooked up to factory radio in rear doors on 2013 Silverado. Cleaned up the sound a bit. no more distortion to mids from the bass. Didn't really make much improvement on the highs with the stock radio. Can't really say how great they would be with a lot of power to them being they are still on the factory radio, but better than stock for sure. Easily made adapters from 3/16" plexiglass for the extended cab doors.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield is a wonderful company to work with. I have never heard of them before, but they went above and beyond to help me with replacing speakers in our GMC Pickup. The Sony replacement speakers are a nice quality, great sound, and easy to install. My grandson installed the new speakers in about one hour for all four. Big savings compared to what the dealer wanted for new speakers! I would recommend them to anyone.

Pros: Easy to install, great sound, reasonable price.

Cons: Sound quality may be just a little bit less intense than with factory installed speakers, but the music still sounds great.

Features

Woofers: The woofer cones are made of Mica Reinforced Cellular Fiber (MRC). MRC is very light and extraordinarily rigid, producing exceptional musical transients that are clear with little distortion compared to traditional cone materials.

Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 1" aluminum dome tweeter for outstanding dispersion and clarity. The angled tweeters swivel so you can direct them toward the listening positions.

Bi-amp Inputs: The 2-way crossover has separate inputs for the woofer and tweeter; this lets you drive the speaker system with dedicated power for the separate speaker elements, instead of sharing power. Out of the box there are jumper wires shorting the tweeter and woofer inputs; the jumper wires must be removed to bi-amp the speakers.

Mounting: The speakers can be mounted in a variety of 6-1/2" and 6-3/4" applications.
