Add some serious zoom to your Alpha digital SLR camera with this high-quality Sony lens. Its versatile 35mm equivalent focal range of 27 to 375mm lets you capture impressive wide-angle shots and closeups of nearby subjects, as well as crisp photos of distant scenes. This is one lens you can definitely leave on your camera all day for shooting whatever comes up.

This Sony's compact, lightweight design makes it easy to use and carry. Its aspherical and extra-low dispersion lens elements give you sharp focus throughout the entire zoom range and help deliver clear, color-accurate images. The supplied lens hood (not pictured) reduces lens flare and allows better shooting in bright light, while the front and rear lens caps protect against dust and scratches.

Features

Compatibility: This lens is compatible with the Sony Alpha-series digital SLR cameras.

ED (Extra-low dispersion) Glass: ED glass minimizes flare and reduces color abnormalities, giving you sharp and clear shots, even at full telephoto extension.

Lens Hood: The included lens hood allows for better shooting in bright light. A lens hood can be used to reduce flare in bright light areas to ensure maximum image quality.

Note: When using the built-in camera flash, make sure to remove the lens hood to avoid blocking the light from the flash.

Focusing: This lens can be used for auto and manual focusing. To focus manually, set the camera body to manual focus and adjust the focus ring on the lens.

Circular Aperture: The aperture blades of this lens form a near circle at the wide openings used for low-light shots, so spot-light sources have a pleasing circular defocused effect.

Zoom Lock: The Zoom Lock fixes the lens in its shortest position, so it won't move during transport.

Sony SAL18250 Lens

Written By Larry, Clearwater, FL on Monday, December 16, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great zoom lens. Has the perfect range for everything from family shots to sporting events. It's also very quiet and comes with a butterfly lens hood which is a nice bonus.

Pros: Great zoom range in a single lens and the auto focus motor is much quieter than other lenses that I have used.

Cons: None that I have found
