Q
Ok, I am a hopeless unit. This is a classic I D 10 T issue, definitely PEBKAC (problem exists between keyboard and chair), and I apologize in advance for what is to come. I own this unit. It is still in the unopened box. I have suffered approach avoidance for years now...This being admitted to, I love music and have much vinyl that it is my hope to get committed to another format. Am I to understand that this unit will dump the tunes, as played, into my computer? Say, my iTunes library? It may seem as though I am joking, but I am not. Thank you in advance for your patience. Meg

I'm no help at all. I purchased for my husband, we have it set up but did not use it yet. My understanding is that your vinyl will go onto your computer via the software enclosed. I put the software in and in viewing that it looks like it is a fairly easy process. There is a icon for vinyl on the software so I think that everything should work fine

Meg, I bought this unit as an entry-level gift for my daughter who caught my vinyl bug. First, let me say that never in a million years would I hook this very low quality unit into my own home audio. Second, I will explain that I expect my daughter to learn how to operate a record player with this toss-away Sony so that I can then provide her with a high-quality mid-level unit once she has some skills and a passion for vinyl care. I will finish by saying that this unit does offer digital conversion of vinyl recordings, but that the software reviews of how that it done are very poor. I do not have any personal experience with this item and therefore cannot offer my own opinions of its actual operation.
