They do just fine for that. Very pleasing sound with enough clarity to hear everything. You wouldn't want to do any serious mixing with these as the low end may be a little lacking. But really I like it that way. Too many low frequencies pumping into your cranium causes headaches. These aren't noise canceling, you can pretty much hear everything in the room but for my purposes that's fine. I'm very happy with these headphones. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Sony MDR-XD200 Written By Rae, schaumburg, IL on Friday, March 04, 2011 Good sound, decent price , only con is that this thing is pretty heavy, the band rests directly on your head and starts to bother after an hour or so. Can't have it on for long. I bought it only because of the extra long cord and it serves the purpose. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 A Good Buy ! Written By Paul, Woodstock, VA on Saturday, February 26, 2011 I don't use headphones a lot, but these Sony MDR-XD200 more than take care of my needs. Very nice sound, relatively comfortable, and the 11-1/2 ft. cord is a great convenience. The movie/music switch does not seem to do much, but for the price, its a good buy and I would recommend them. A 4.5 would be my rating. Was this review helpful? Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Sony MDR-XD200 Written By Eduardo, Florida, PR on Sunday, December 05, 2010 For the price you can not ask for more. They are big and not too comfortable, but the sound is good. It includes an adapter. I use them for listening music in my laptop. As always, Crutchfield service is first class. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Sony MDR-XD200 Written By , Beaverton, OR on Saturday, November 27, 2010 Great set of headphones. Comfortable and great sound. They even block out much outside noise. Couldn't be happier :) Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 pretty good for the price Written By james, zephyrhills FL on Monday, November 22, 2010 These are really nice for the price. Not the greatest headphones but good sounding for the price. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 3 out of 5 Pros and Cons Written By BG, California on Monday, June 21, 2010 The sound quality is very good for the money. I compared this with Sennheiser via reviews by other Crutchfield customers and purchased the Sony because comfort is important to me. Many reviews said the Sennheisers are too tight on the ears. Awhile back I noticed ridges in my scalp and even a laceration. I though maybe I had bumped my head somehow. I was a little freaked out. Then I realized that this was caused by these headphones. There is no padding in the head band. That is a hard plastic head band and when I lay down at night to watch movies or listen to music the head band is digging into my scalp. I only noticed this after my return period was up. I'll try putting a wash cloth around the head band. This is the reason I gave this only a 3. Ear pads are comfortable, sound is very good, price is good, the cord is long...it sounds great on my home stereo and my lap top but the head band was not designed for comfort. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I was impressed with the specs on these for the price and couldn't resist, despite my excellent luck with Sennheisers in the past. These headphones sound great for in home use straight out of the packaging! I hope this means that as they get some wear that they'll somehow get even better. These are extremely comfortable (I've had them on for about 6 hours today). They fit over my ears perfectly and I've had no issues with wearing glasses while listening to them. Needless to say, this is the best set of inexpensive headphones I've owned! With their knowledgeable and helpful staff and their excellent willingness to please, no one else can beat Crutchfield! 6 out of 6 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
