This 4" round remote comes with an 16.5-foot cable, so you can mount it in a variety of locations. Store your stereo safely inside the cabin and let this IPx7-compliant remote deal with the sun, salt, and spray. Warranty: 60 days.

Bought this for my 330 Sea Ray Sundancer and mounted it to the rear swim platform. Makes it so much easier to adjust the receiver from the swim platform without tracking up the carpet in the boat full of water.

Easy to use I use it a little different than most people in that I leave it to where I can pass it to different locations in the boat( leave it portable)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed this along with a Sony stereo in my Chris-Craft. It works well, just wish it had better iPod integration. A little disappointed it doesn't show song titles, etc but this was mentioned in other reviews.

Cons:

Beefy and easy to use remote

John from Rochester, NY on 12/7/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'd give this a 5 star rating, like other reviews have stated, it's a pain to locate a specific song from the remote. I have to use the main head unit. I figured a way to get around it by hooking in a Blue Tooth to the main unit and I have pick songs from my iPhone to play. I like the large display and buttons. It's a good looking as well. With a big unit comes a big hole. Yikes! Fortunately I only needed to put it on my helm station and not through the fiberglass at the swim transom. I would really be uncomfortable putting a 3.25 inch hole in my boat. What if the next version is smaller and you need to replace.

Pros: Attractive Easy to use Large controls

Cons: Hard to search for songs on an iPod Big mounting hole

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Read less than stellar reviews, but better than I expected, and once I figured out where to put it(I relocated another gauge) it's so much easier that laying on the deck to deal with the head unit. All you have to do is scroll through the album titles one at a time, which is kind of tedious, but once you get use to it, no problem

Pros: Easy to read, large readout

Cons: Too big of a hole to cut(3 1/4")

Easy to install. Nice display. Much better than the remote for my JBL stereo that I replaced. Fast delivery from Crutchfield.

Pros: Splash proof. Lighted display.

Cons:

Sony Marine Remote

BowRider from Louisiana on 5/20/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cable was too short. Couldnt buy one from Sony. Purchased extension cable online. When playing iPod, you can not see the song titles on the display, all it shows is "USB". This remote is good for changing volume, changing radio stations if you listen to the tuner and putting a little light on the swimdeck at night...not much else.

Pros: Seems to be more rugged than previous remote

Cons: not very functional to use with iPod/iPhone

GARRY THE BOATER from FLORIDA on 6/6/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I HAVE HAD 3 SONY REMOTES ON MY BOAT OVER THE YEARS. EACH ONE LASTS ABOUT 2 - 3 YEARS. THIS WAS A NEW MODEL 1 1/2 YEARS AGO WHEN I INSTALLED IT. REMOTE IS STILL FUNCTIONING PERFECTLY AT THIS TIME. INSTALLATION WAS VERY DIFFICULT, I HAD TO DRILL A GIANT HOLE IN THE BACK OF THE BOAT, MUCH LARGER THAN WITH PREVIOUS SURFACE MOUNT MODELS. THIS IS TOUGH THROUGH SOLID FIBERGLASS AND WOOD..... STILL WORKING THOUGH.

Pros: EASY TO READ

Cons: BIG MOUNTING HOLE

Outstanding

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this for a custom stereo set up on my motorcycle. Functionality is great, it has survived the first road trip in the rain... No better solution!

Pros: Water proof Small size Full function

Cons: Connectors are large and were tricky to tuck away.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield delivered as usual! Great service. Pretty nice unit. Note: before you cut a 3-1/4" hole in your boat, this unit can control your Ipod, but cannot control playlists, artists etc. So you will be scrolling through 500 or so songs to find what you want. I should have read the specs a little closer.

Pros: Nice package. Waterproof.

Cons: Big hole to mount it. No "search by" feature

Replaced my Sony RM-XM10 remote with this one. Works great and looks better too! Gave it only 4 stars because I've only had it a few weeks but, so far so good. Thanks Crutchfield! You were far more help than Sony themselves!

Upgrade and lose functionality?

Tuner from Gainesville FL on 5/5/2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I upgraded from an older Sony CD w/iPod interface and RMX55 to the newer head unit with the tune tray (DMX MS60) and an RMX60. The iPod control on the head unit is excellent with USB interface speed. The RMX60 ,however, does not display any information in the mode setting or the Playlist name which is troubling since my deck is in the cabin...the older wired remote was slower but did display all the information. Fix those two items and it is a 10, as it is, disappointing is the best I can do.

Yes it should work. And it's simple to install to work with your radio just plug and play. I love mine. Hope this helps [ erich  Jul 28, 2015 ]
This remote should work with the CDX-M630 receiver. That receiver does have a wired remote input. [ Jeff  Jul 30, 2015 ]  Staff
I'm sorry, I do not know. Sony may be able to answer that if you can reach someone. It works great with my sony cdx-60m. [ AARON R  Jul 26, 2015 ]

We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question. [ Krissy  Jun 25, 2014 ]  Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: This remote is not compatible with the CDX-GT700HD, as it does not have the connections necessary. It appears that remote is a dedicated "marine" remote. The only remote I find compatible is the remote that came in the box with the 700HD, which is a wireless IR remote.
