Sony

Your choice of music

The RDP-XF300IP delivers a lot of portable music entertainment in one simple package. This powered speaker system's dock can hold an iPod, an iPhone, or even a iPad. Just slide it out and plug in your player to start the music.

Built-in Bluetooth gives you convenient wireless playback with lots of devices. Stream audio from your compatible smartphone, tablet, game console, or computer. And you can also use the Bluetooth functionality of your iPod touch®, iPhone, or iPad to play your tunes without docking.

Want to listen to the big game? The RDP-XF300IP features a built-in FM tuner. And with 20 presets, all of your favorite stations can be called up at a moment's notice.

Made to travel

It's easy to pick up the system and move it from room to room, or out and about. You can slide out the iPod dock for your player, and close it back up for travel. The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to six hours of operation. And when you use the AC adapter to charge the system, it will also recharge your docked player.

Free app gives you more control options

The RDP-XF300IP comes with its own remote for basic controls such as play, pause, power, and track skip. But with Sony's D-Sappli app (available as free download from iTunes®), you do even more. Select from different preset EQ curves, or engage a customizable graphic equalizer to adjust the sound to your tastes. Or turn your docked player and RDP-XF300IP into a digital clock radio. Grab it !!!

Written By Daniel, Yorktown on Friday, April 12, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Does everything with great sound for its size. Sound is better than the Bose Soundlink and has all those extra features. Grab it because it is being replaced by Sony with a Bose look alike. I use it as a Bluetooth speaker, a sound dock for my iPod and an external speaker for my flat screen. Crutchfield delivered as promised.
Pros:
Sound, FM radio, equalizer, Bluetooth, iPod dock and aux inputs, portability, full function remote.
Cons:
NiMH battery instead of LiOn battery.

Item arrived promptly and safely packaged. Listened to this speaker compared to many others in local retail store and this one was superior sound quality to all others in this price range. Very happy with decision.

A Sound Value in Bluetooth Capable Speakers

Written By BobbyGee, Branford, CT on Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I agree with other 5-star reviews - Excellent product with great sound. My 18-year old college freshman asked for speakers for his i-Phone 4s for Christmas. I am what I consider to be a "value-shoppper" interested in quality but "bang for the buck" as well. I went to several stores to see what was available which made selecting a product difficult because of the variety of products .. some with Air-Play wi-fi support, some bluetooth, some with great sound (like the Bose for instance). Having not yet seen the Sony unit, I asked my son to help me by ranking the following criteria in order of importance and they were (1) great sound with good bass response being very important, (2) Bluetooth and/or wireless support (as I pointed out how he would not always want to have to dock his phone but it is great to be able to cradle it to charge it), (3) size (limited room in his college dorm), (4) portability (plans to play it in his dorm mostly), (5) support for docking/connecting non-iPhone devices (iPhone 5, Android, iPads, etc.) and (6) a remote control. Expecting to find something that met the first 3 maybe 4 criteria, I was so surprised to hit upon the Sony RDP-XF300IP which met all of these in spades and has an FM radio to boot (never a requirement, but nice to have). He absolutely loves it. After a quick read of the instructions, iPhone paired via bluetooth and with no discernable change in sound quality.
Pros:
Great sound across the audio spectrum -- crisp highs and very tight bass for a relatively small unit Dock will support iPhone, iTouches and iPads as well Bluetooth connectivity (Air-Play or wi-fi would require more hassle to set up in a college wireless network environment) Portability - can run for several hours on internal battery FM Radio Compact design - Looks great Remote control (can operate iPhone when docked)
Cons:
None so far other than bluetooth speakers can be had for less money. But most did not sound this good making this unit a great value.

Sony RDP-XF300IP

Written By GJohn, Dayton, OH on Monday, December 10, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Incredible product. I compared this to Sonos and Bose and just could not justify spending the extra money. This sound is as good - if not better than Sonos or Bose. Easy to set up and very portable. I was concerned about the lack of bass response that most docks have - not the case here. The FM tuner is also a big bonus. I could not be happier with this purchase. Crutchfield made the experience painless - great price, free delivery - you can't ask for more!
Pros:
Great sound, versatile, Bluetooth and FM. Very portable. Plays 6 - 7 hours between charges.
Cons:
FM reception could be a little better.

Worth every penny

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Considering this was a value choice when I purchased an iPod player, it was worth every penny and an excellent value. Great sound, great portability. Excellent battery life. And since it also has a radio, which many mobile speaker systems lack, it's got versatility too. I love it.
Pros:
Great sound, radio, excellent battery life, portability

Adarsha

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

About the product- I had done some research before placing the order for Sony RDP300IP. I was deciding between Bose and Sony (Similar models) and finally decided on Sony. I wasn't disappointed even a bit when I received the shipment. Assembling took less than a minute, sound quality is awesome, works (by docking) with iPhone 4 and iPad 2 (Am sure it works with other versions). Works with Android tablet (ASUS transformer), Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) via bluetooth and auxiliary inputs. The device is very portable and can be carried easily.
Pros:
This is the first time I am buying from Crutchfield and I was very pleased with their professionalism. 1. There are no shipping charges and the order arrived in a day 2. For some reason, there was a mistake in the address and this was corrected and I received the package the next day 3. I had some difficulty in setting up the bluetooth and the technical representative was very helpful. Though we couldn't resolve the issue, he offered to ship a replacement (even before I asked for it)
Cons:
Things I would like to see (Not necessarily cons) 1. Wide array of product offerings (I find mainly sound systems) 2. The rewards points can be redeemed only after a month's time

Keeping up with Technology

Written By Lou, Bear, Delaware on Tuesday, July 03, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Been buying from Crutchfield for over 25 years. I have a lot of technology that starts from the 1920's to present. Could not believe how easy this was to use. I hooked this up to an IPad 32gb and everyone noticed the "cool" factor this device delivered. Lasted 8 hours on a full charge and all sorts of users with the blue tooth could not wait their turn to connect. Really neat item that was up and running in 10 minutes
Pros:
Great sound, long lasting battery, ability to connect and dock many different items. FM stations are easy to program and the sound the device delivers was outstanding. The ease of portability was not expected, but was really appreciated. Device has an equilizer feature that did work. It also had a decent control range of over 10 meters from the IPad.
Cons:
Should have bought 2. This would create a much better stereo (loud party) experience.
