WORTH EVERY PENNY!
When I was purchasing my Sony KDS-R60XBR1, I admit that I was already determined to get this stand to go along with it because when you're spending the money to have the best, you don't want to skimp on an accessory this prominent. However, I was put-off by the $500 price tag and intimidated by the idea of getting it home and building it myself, particularly because of the two large glass panels.

First, this stand is not one of those cheaply produced spray-painted pressed-board-style A/V units. It is constructed of high-quality extruded and molded aluminum pieces that fit with precision. Also, you'll actually spend more time taking the pieces out of the box than you will putting the stand together (an extremely easy, one-man job!), so DO NOT pay extra to have this stand thrown together by the delivery guys.

IMPORTANT: This stand has no castors to roll on, so I would definitely recommend that after you build it and BEFORE you place the TV on it, apply whichever appropriate "slider" devices under the points of contact between the stand and your floor as necessary. Whether you have carpet or a hard floor, you can find the right sliders at any hardware store. Without them, this stand won't budge easily with a TV loaded on it. Enjoy!
