Fit my Needs Perfectly

Just got this dock to hook up to a recently purchased Sony HT-CT100 soundbar for a family room. The number of inputs on the bar is limited, but it does have the Sony DM Port input so this was my best option. Hook up was a breeze and had it up and running in less than 5 minutes. The 6' cord may be a little short for some depending on their setup, but just long enough for mine. Sound is good through the soundbar. The On Screen Display is pretty ugly and generic with no album art, but will probably rarely use it. I will just be docking the ipod and listening to music and the TV will probably not even be on. Can't comment on the HDMI video output quality as my older Samsung DLP has DVI input only and won't accept the HDMI passthrough from the sound bar. Had to hook it up via composite which is not the best quality, but I don't use my Ipod for video much. Quality will be fine for viewing pictures though. Highly recommended product for connecting to another Sony product with the DM Port.

video not great

My Sony DAV-HDZ273 dvd player states that it will show video with this adapter. It does not play though HDMI and you are forced to use the RCA cable which degrades the video considerably. Otherwise convenient and audio is clear.

Does what I wanted it to do, play my new iPOD 2nd generation touch through my home system. Everything I have is Sony, so there were no problems getting everything to work together.

Good but short of expectation!

The product works good and is easy to install. Review if your Sony equipment is compatible for this before you buy it, you might need the video cable (included) to get the visuals on the TV, instead of being merged with the audio through the HDMI connection of your TV and the Entertainment Center.
The graphics could be improved, they are plain & simple for a Sony. The sound quality depends on the quality of the song and the Entertainment Center.

NIce, but not great!

This little device is supposedly the upgrade to the Tdm -IP10, albeit with the ability to control your music on screen. The problem with htis is that you can ONLY play music and not select a specific playlist. The onscreen menu looks outdated and I'm a little disappointed that Sony didn't incorporate album cover artwork. As for the sound quality this of course is going to depend on the quality of you audio system. But with my Sony DTR 820 receiver the sound is O.K as I am sure this has something to do with the iPOd's built in DAC(digital audio converter) which compresses a lot of the ambiance nad "air" of the music. All in all an O.K. player with limitations.
