Share instantly with Wi-Fi

The 'WX350 can team up with your phone or tablet, allowing you to wirelessly transfer photos and video to your mobile device for instant online sharing. If you're an Android™ user, Near Field Communication allows you to pair camera to compatible devices with a quick tap.

No blur allowed

When you try to take photos with a cell phone, the image can be ruined if you move while holding the camera, or if your subject moves when you snap the photo. The DSC-WX350 has the technology to deal with either scenario, giving you blur-free photos. Built-in optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization smooths out any movement on the part of the photographer. Lock-on autofocus and fast shutter speeds make sure a moving subject looks sharp.

3" LCD Screen: The Sony DSC-WX350 digital camera has a 3" ClearPhoto LCD screen. The LCD has 460,800 pixels with a 5-step brightness control. The LCD screen allows you to view an image before taking a picture and replay images that have been stored in memory.

Built-in Wi-Fi: Using the downloadable PlayMemories Mobile app, available for iOS and Android, you can instantly share your photos with your friends. The camera can be connected to an NFC-enabled Android smartphone with one touch to the top of the camera. You can upload pictures and videos shot on the camera to social media sites via your Wi-Fi-enabled smartphone or tablet. In addition, you can back up images to a network-connected PC, control the camera with your smartphone, and view your photos and videos on a compatible TV.

Recording Media: The DSC-WX350 is compatible with the following recording media:

    • Memory Stick: Memory Stick PRO Duo (for movies, Mark 2 media), Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo, Memory Stick XC-HG Duo
    • SD Card: SD cards, SDHC cards, SDXC cards (For movies, Class 4 or faster)

Image Sensor: For optimal image quality, the camera uses a 1/2.3" Exmor R CMOS imaging device with approximately 21.1 gross Megapixels and 18.2 effective Megapixels. The advanced Exmor R CMOS image sensor delivers extremely fast speed, high resolution, and excellent low-light sensitivity with improved image clarity and reduced grain.

BIONZ X Image Processor: The digital camera's BIONZ X image processor delivers high resolution photos and fast still photography performance. The fast processing enables the camera to combine multiple images in less than a second to create wide panoramic images. It also delivers high speed photo bursts, as well as Anti-Motion Blur and Handheld Twilight modes.

Sony G Lens: The camera features a Sony G lens with a 20x optical zoom and a focal length of 4.3mm to 86mm. The 35mm equivalent is 27mm to 540mm for 16:9 movies, and 33-660mm for 4:3 movies. For still images, the 35mm equivalent focal length is 24-1200mm (4:3), 25-1250mm (3:2), and 28.5-1425mm (16:9). The lens has an aperture range of F3.5 (W) to F6.5 (T). The camera has a Clear Image Zoom that is twice the optical zoom (up to 40x), which magnifies the images without deterioration of image quality. Combined with the 20x optical zoom, the 4x digital zoom magnifies images to the largest scale of 80x, however, the image quality will deteriorate as you zoom in to the maximum range.

Image Recording Format: The camera records still images in JPEG format. Moving images with stereo audio can be recorded in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 with 2 channel Dolby Digital audio or MP4 format with AAC audio. There are two image quality settings: Standard and Fine.

Still Image Sizes: When recording digital still images, the DSC-WX350 allows you to choose from nine image sizes:

Under normal shooting conditions, the Standard setting will reduce camera shake caused by slight movements of the hand. In extreme conditions, you can select Intelligent Active or Active SteadyShot settings.

Shooting Modes: The DSC-WX350 offers several shooting modes, selectable with the top-mounted Mode Dial. You can select from the following:

Drive Modes: You can choose from five shooting modes:

    • Single Shot: Shoots one image at a time
    • Continuous Shooting: Shoots up to 10 images in succession when you press and hold down the shutter button. There are 2 speeds to choose from: High (10 frames per second) and Low (2 fps).
    • Self-Timer: You can set the Self-Timer mode to a 10-second or 2-second delay so you can be in the picture or to help prevent blur.
    • Self-Portrait: When the product detects the number of faces you have selected, the camera will beep and the shooting starts after 2 seconds.
    • Self-Timer Continuous: Shoots images continuously after a 10-second delay

Exposure Compensation: You can adjust the exposure manually in 1/3 EV steps in a range of -2.0 EV to +2.0 EV to correct problems of over- or under-exposure.

Auto Focus: The camera has a Multi-point Auto Focus. This method is helpful when your subject is not centered in the frame. You can also choose Center-weighted AF, which focuses only on the subject framed in the AF range finder in the center of the image, or Spot AF, which focuses on an extremely small subject or a narrow area. You can also select Tracking Focus and Face Tracking Focus.

AF Illuminator: The AF (auto focus) Illuminator briefly provides fill light to focus more easily on a subject in dark surroundings. The camera emits red light to allow it to focus easily when the shutter button is presses halfway, until the focus is locked.

Face Detection: Face Detection technology detects up to eight individual faces and controls flash, focus, exposure, and white balance to deliver accurate, natural skin tones with reduced red-eye. The camera can automatically select the faces to focus on, or you can select the face in a particular area of the frame by touching the screen. It can also give priority to children or adults. The camera's Face Motion Detection adjusts ISO sensitivity and accelerates the shutter speed when facial movement is detected, reducing blur in the subjects face.

Smile Shutter Mode: The Smile Shutter technology automatically detects and captures a smiling face. Simply activate by pressing the Smile Shutter button and the camera will capture a smile the moment it happens. You can also set the degree of Smile Detection Sensitivity to Slight Smile, Normal Smile or Big Smile.

Metering Modes: You can select Spot, Center-weighted, or Multi-pattern Metering. Spot metering lets you adjust the exposure to the subject, even when the subject is a backlit or when there is strong contrast between the subject and the background. Center-weighted metering measures the center of the image and determines the exposure based on the brightness of the subject. When multi-pattern metering is used, the image is divided into multiple regions and metering is performed in each region. The camera judges the subject position and background brightness, and determines a well-balanced exposure.

Sensitivity: You can select up to nine ISO settings (Auto, 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400, and 12800) when shooting in Program Auto Mode to adjust sensitivity to your shooting conditions.

Built-in Flash: The built-in flash has a range of 7-7/8" to 14 feet 1-3/8" with the zoom set to wide and 6' 6-3/4" to 7 feet 10-1/2 inches with the zoom set to telephoto. The flash can be set to the following modes: Off, Auto, On, Slow Synchro, and Advanced. In addition, this camera has a "red-eye reduction" setting, which causes the flash to pre-strobe before shooting to reduce the red-eye phenomenon.

White Balance: When the white balance is set to auto, the white balance is set automatically in response to the condition of the subject, and the overall color balance is adjusted. When using flash, you can select the Flash White Balance mode. In addition to Auto and Flash, the white balance can be set to Incandescent, Fluorescent 1 (white fluorescent), Fluorescent 2 (natural white fluorescent), Fluorescent 3 (day white fluorescent), Daylight, Cloudy, One Push (adjust white balance depending on the light source) or One Push Set (memorizes the basic white color which will be used).

Grid Lines: The cameras on-screen grid lines make it easy to set a subject's horizontal and vertical position.
