Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Accessories Our take on the Sony XA120IP iPod® Interface Adapter by Ken Nail Why would I need an iPodĀ® adapter? An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music. Connect your iPod to select 2006-up Sony stereos with the XA-120iP iPod interface adapter. It lets you control just about every aspect of iPod playback right from your stereo. Jump between tracks, search for songs, and even browse tracks without fumbling around with your iPod track and playlist information show up right on your stereo's display. The XA-120iP adapter offers full-speed access to the iPod no more lag time in search and scroll mode and charges the iPod's battery while it's connected (adapter required for certain iPods). Compatibility Note: Be sure to check "Hands-on Research" for specific iPod model compatibility with this iPod adapter. Written By Will, Boise, ID on Thursday, April 01, 2010 I bought this after I purchased the Sony MEX-BT2800 deck and it works exactly as described with my 160 gig ipod classic. It comes with some adhesive velcro so I was able to pull out my glove box and make a small hole in the top left rear corner to run the cable in, and using the adhesive I stuck it right on the side of the glove box assembly when I put it all back in my 85 Cadillac. This way, if i need to, I can leave my ipod in the car and leave the glove box locked and not have to worry as much. The cables supplied are plenty long which can accomidate alternate mounting locations probably as far away as under the driver's seat. It's so nice to be able to use my reciever remote to find music instead of fumbling with my Ipod! 4 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
