Have your bass and stream it, too

The Sony MDR-XB950BT headphones combine two things that our customers really love: wireless listening and deep, powerful bass. Bluetooth connectivity allows easy wireless connection between these headphones and your smartphone or tablet (and some computers, too). Roam free from your device (up to 30 feet away) while your music keeps playing. You can also take hands-free calls on your smartphone with the 'XB950BT. Earcup buttons keep you in control, so you can answer and hang up, adjust the volume, as well as play, pause, and skip tracks.

More bass when you want it

Some customers like headphones that deliver a heavy dose of bass all the time. But others like to pick and choose their spots for enhanced low frequencies. That's just what these headphones allow you to do. When you encounter a track that demands a little more bottom end, just press the Bass Boost button on the earcup. The built-in digital signal processor will work its magic, boosting the low frequencies and giving your music more bounce and punch.

These headphones can produce a lot of bass when you have the bass boost button on! I always use bass boost in every song I listen to and when it comes to a movie, I turn it off b/c the bass is just right without the bass boost. I love these headphones! Mostly recommended to anyone who loves bass bass and bass!!

Pros: Battery life is excellent! Bass boost can thump! Really comfortable!

Cons: None

I bought these because I needed the aptX codec for a Bluetooth system I put together for my big screen TV. While using it for the television, it provides enough bass to make the sound rich, with no latency. So then I tried them for music. Holy smokes! The bass is so bloated, muddy, etc. I had a hard time focusing in on any treble sounds. I tried the "bass button" and the music distorted so bad, I had to take them off. I understand they are "extra bass" but c'mon Sony, I know you can do better than this. I imagine you can EQ them down through your music player, but they sound like any of the old Beats headphones. I almost returned them but decided to use them solely for TV and movies.

Pros: Good build quality, very comfortable, long battery life

Cons: Awful representation of what bass should sound like.

best choice

I spent days researching and testing differents wireless headphones and under $200 nothing else beats the MDR XB950BT . From sound quality, construction , features, battery and easy of use is without any doubt the best wireless headphones on the market.

Pros: Super super Xtra bass on demand (if you are not a bass lover you can turn off Xtra bass and enjoy as you would on a regular headphones, but is there if you want that extra boom sound). Insane battery life aprox 11hrs non stop. Big noise isolation capabilities. Clear lows, mids and high frecuency. Cristal clear phone calls.

Cons: Maybe not too confortable for longer periods of time.

I bought these for my teenage daughter for Christmas. She uses them every day and is very into her music. They were extremely easy to pair to her iPhone 5 and they do not leak sound at all. I can't hear the music when she's next to me in the car and she doesn't hear mine when I turn the stereo up either. The bass boost is a nice feature and dies enhance some of the songs. The build quality is good also but the best feature may be the comfort. They are super soft and she can wear them for hours with no discomfort.

Overall pretty good headphones especially for the reasonable price way lower then beats.more bang for the buck with thesethe material it's made of seems durable although I've only had them for a weekonly complaint they fit kind of loose if you have a small headif they had fit a little tighter id give a 5 but still good headphones overall

Pros: good material build...good sound and a ton of bass

Cons: they can be a little loose if you have a small head

Beats Beets for half the cost.

Practically speaking, Bluetooth (wireless) audio quality cannot match that of hardwired ones. However the Sony MDR-XB950BT gets you pretty darn close. The sound is plenty good enough for playing compressed audio and there's a hardwire included for those times you want to get the maximum sound quality.

Pros: Good build quality, comfortable, very good sound quality for Bluetooth audio device, very good battery life, reliable and consistent Bluetooth connectivity, good selection of controls built into unit (play, pause, next/previous song, volume up/down), built in microphone, hardwire option and more affordable than other comparable brands.

Cons: Hardwired mode requires a specially modified cable (included), controls are a little difficult to locate/operate while wearing, Bass Boost is ok for ultra low volume levels but otherwise overbearing and not useful. Would rather have less weight, lower price or noise reduction circuitry in place of Bass Boost function.
