Source
Tone Memory: Each
source (AM/FM/Cassette/CD changer) can store its own EQ3 levels.
Tuner:
This model is equipped with Sony's proprietary SSIR-EX tuner. You can choose
automatic tuning (seek) to choose a radio station, or, if the automatic tuning
stops too frequently, you can change the sensitivity of the tuner to the Local
Seek mode. This allows you to tune in only relatively strong stations. You can
also switch from FM Stereo to FM Mono if the stereo reception is poor.
Automatic
Tuner Activation (ATA): When fast-forwarding or
rewinding, the radio will turn on automatically. This feature can be turned on
or off.
External Device Controls
Changer Controls: This unit has
the following CD/MD changer controls: track repeat, disc repeat, disc random,
changer random and all disc random (if connecting more than one changer). In
addition, the unit features the following CD-changer functions.
- CD Text/MD
Memo Display: When used with a compatible CD changer and a CD
Text encoded CD, this unit will display the CD Text information.
When
using a compatible Sony MD changer, this receiver can display disc and track
names that have been prerecorded on MDs.
- Auto
Scroll: If the
disc name, artist name, or track name on a CD Text disc or MiniDisc exceeds 8
characters and the Auto Scroll function is on, the information will
automatically scroll across the screen.
XM Satellite Radio: To receive XM Satellite Radio, you can connect the
optional CNP2000UC XM Mini Tuner (220CNP20UC) and the Sony CNP-SON1 adapter
cable (package item number 700XMSON1).
Note
Display
Illumination/Clock Display: Pressing the Off button once will
turn off audio output, but the clock display and face/button illumination remain
on. This makes the clock display and face/button illumination "Keyed"
instead of "Unit On" only. To turn the unit off completely, you must
press the Off button for two seconds. Note: When installing in a vehicle
without an accessory power wire at the radio location, you must turn the radio
completely off (this defeats keyed operation), or you may wire the accessory
power wire of this radio to an alternate source of accessory power to retain
keyed clock and face/button illumination operation.
