Overview: The Sony ZS-S2iP
AM/FM, CD Boombox for iPod features a retractable front-panel iPod dock for
listening to your iPod, a top-loading CD mechanism and a built-in AM/FM tuner.
The Sony Boombox also features a 3.5mm auxiliary input and headphone
output. The unit operates off of AC power as well as DC power (6 batteries "C"
batteries not included).
iPod Compatibility: The boombox features a retractable iPod
dock which allows you to adjust the dock to fit your iPod. The Sony ZS-S2iP is "Made for iPod/iPhone compatible" and supports the following iPod/iPhone
model functions (Dec. 2009).

Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates
may change functionality results. If you download a newer
software version, you may need to reset the device and your
iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you
may need to revert to the older software version or wait until
an newer software update is available.
iPod Operation: Your iPod
remains fully operational when connected to the Sony Boombox's iPod dock. The
unit's supplied IR wireless remote control can also operate your iPod's menu and
playback features.
Note: The unit's remote
will not operate the iPod nano (6th gen), iPod touch, or iPhone. You will need to use your iPod's or iPhone's controls for
complete operation.
iPod Charging: This unit will
charge your iPod while your iPod is connected to the boombox and the ZS-S2iP is
turned "on". iPod charging will only occur during AC operation of the Sony
boombox.
Note: This unit does not support charging of the iPod nano (4th/5th/6th
gen.), iPod touch (2nd/3rd/4th gen.), and iPhone (3G/3GS/4).
iPhone Operation: When you first insert your iPhone onto
the unit's dock the ZS-S2iP's display will read "This Accessory
is not made to work with iPhone" - By waiting 15 seconds the
display will clear and you can begin playing music stored on
your iPhone. You should set your iPhone to Airplane Mode to
reduce audio interference.
CD Playback: The unit features
a top-loading single CD/CD-R/CD-RW player. The Boombox offers the following CD
playback modes - Track Repeat, Disc Repeat, Shuffle Disc, Shuffle Disc with
Repeat, Program Play and Program Play with Repeat. You can program up to 20
tracks in the order you want.
AM/FM Tuner: The unit features
a built-in AM/FM tuner. You can manually or automatically store AM and FM radio
stations into the unit's memory. You can preset up to 30 radio stations (20 FM
and 10 AM).
Mega Bass: This audio feature
reinforces the bass sound of the Boombox.
Sleep Timer: The unit features
a Sleep Timer which allows you to fall asleep to your music. You can select the
unit to turn-off after 10, 20, 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes.
Built-In Handle: The unit
features an integrated fold-down/fold-up handle for easy portability.
Connections
Dock Connector: The unit
features a front-panel, retractable iPod dock with a proprietary 30-pin Apple
iPod dock connector for connecting your dock compatible iPod.
Audio In: In addition, the unit
features a top mounted, female 3.5mm minijack for connecting an external audio
source.
Headphone Out: The unit also
features a female 3.5mm headphone jack output for connecting an optional pair of
headphones for private listening.
