About the The Epicenter Plus™ by AudioControl
Add bass
Add bass
Jealous of all the bumpin' bass you hear in hip hop, rap, and EDM? Well you can put that deep, biting bass into your classic rock or Tejano music with an AudioControl Epicenter Plus bass processor. Most radios and MP3 players produce compressed and bass-less music, so when you do add a subwoofer, there're no low notes to play. The Epicenter Plus will bring them back.
Maximize your low-frequency punch
The Epicenter Plus processor from AudioControl will maximize the low-frequency power and punch of any bass system, whether you've got a simple powered tube or a full-blown competition setup. You can connect the Epicenter Plus to any stereo, and its speaker-level inputs will even accept the output from a high-power factory amplifier. Simply install this processor between your car's receiver and your outboard amplifiers, and hear what you've been missing.
Sophisticated processing restores fundamental tones
Sophisticated processing analyzes the incoming signal, restores low bass fundamental tones, and increases your bass response without stressing out your speakers. A subsonic filter removes ultra-low bass from your signal so your amps and subs will play louder and cleaner.
Perfect for your iPod® or other MP3 player
You'll find an auxiliary input for connecting an iPod® or other audio source. Just push the single knob on the dash-mounted controller to choose the main or auxiliary source, then rotate the knob to control bass restoration — it's that simple.
The Epicenter does a great job of pumping up digital music files or live recordings on disc, restoring low bass that's been lost to compression or poor recording. Plus, iPods and other MP3 players roll off low bass in order to make your headphones sound better. With one twist of a knob, the Epicenter restores these low frequencies, making your iPod sound better over your car's sound system.
Important note: Connect The Epicenter Plus between your receiver and amplifier, before any external crossovers.

Features
Bass Restoration: Rather than simply turning up the bass, the patented bass restoration circuit takes a full range input signal and measures the upper harmonics of the bass frequency range to determine what frequencies have been lost during the recording process, then correctly restores the missing bass information. The remote rotary knob allows you control how much bass is restored to the system. A full range signal is output from the Epicenter Plus that can feed a full range amp, a subwoofer amp (with built-in crossover), or an outboard crossover.
Speaker Input: The speaker level input is compatible with nearly any factory stereo system.
Auto Turn-on: The speaker level input also has a signal sensing circuit; the unit turns on when there's a speaker level input signal and turns off when the signal disappears.
Remote Output: The +12 volt DC remote output will trigger an amp to turn on whenever the Epicenter Plus is on. The remote's maximum current output is 1 amp.
Auxiliary Input: There is a pair of RCA auxiliary input jacks on the unit so you can easily add an iPod, satellite radio, or other secondary source. The aux input is engaged by pressing the knob on the wired remote. Note: The auxiliary source must have its own volume control; the Epicenter Plus has no way of controlling the volume.
Bass Maximization: The Bass Maximization circuit allows The Epicenter Plus to maximize the bass output of any system while restraining destructive bursts, which can damage speakers. the 5.0 volt factory setting can be changed to 7.5 volts if the amplifier and speakers can handle it.
Remote: The bass restoration level is adjusted using the included wired remote. The remote is designed to be dash mounted, within reach of the driver; it can be mounted under the dash with the supplied bracket, or the bracket can be removed and the knob and LED can be custom mounted through the dash. Dimensions:
- Width: 2.557"
- Height: 1.489"
- Depth: 1.824" (2.448" including knob)
Subsonic Filter: The subsonic filter crossover point is 33 Hz; it's governed by a replaceable chip, so it can be changed to 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, or 45 Hz.
Balanced Inputs: Using the balanced differential input circuit cancels noise picked up in the transmission line between the Epicenter Plus and the the source unit. The inputs can be set to balanced or unbalanced if needed.
Ground Isolation: The power supply ground is switchable, in case of ground loop noise. The factory position is fully isolated (typically the best choice), but can be changed to Ground or 200Ω.
Terminal Blocks: The power/ground/remote in/remote out terminal and the speaker level input terminal are removable; the wiring is attached to the block, then the block is plugged into the Epicenter Plus.

- THD: 0.003%
- S/N Ratio: 130dB
- Balanced Input Noise Rejection: >60 dB
- Input Impedance: 20 kΩ

Really an awesome piece, if installed and used correctly it can do wonders, it just adds so much to the sub that it is sometimes hard to handle, my recommendation do set ur gain and bass settings after installing this and use the remote dash according to the song.
