Looking for great sound from your factory radio? Would you like to upgrade your car's premium system? AudioControl's LC2i line output converter takes amplified speaker-level signals and converts them into high-quality preamp signals that can be fed to another processor or amplifier. In other words, it lets you create an awesome car audio system without disturbing your factory controls or features.

Get your bass back
Some factory radios dial down the bass as you turn up the volume to protect their speakers. The problem is, they don't give it back when you upgrade to a nice set of aftermarket speakers. AudioControl packs the LC2i with their AccuBASS™ circuitry that reverses the factory bass rolloff, giving you the bass you need to enjoy your music to the fullest. Place the LC2i between your factory system and your bass amp, and you'll hear a huge difference in bass response.

High-voltage signal for great sound
Some premium systems use multi-wire speaker cables for systems with multiple speakers. The LC2i features two speaker-level inputs that let you connect amplified signals up to 400 watts, including cables from Bose® and other premium factory systems. The LC2i then sends out a high-powered preamp signal — up to 9.5 volts RMS — that helps every amp perform to its maximum ability.

The optional dash-mount remote control allows you to adjust the level of your sub channel on the go. The speaker-level inputs sense incoming signals and turn on the LC2i, while a built-in 12-volt trigger tells your amps or other gear to turn on when you start your car.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

2013 Honda Civic LX. Factory Head Unit. 2 Amplifiers. Woofer. 2 tweeters. Factory speakers. Before buying the LC2i, I used the speaker level inputs on one of my amps, then feed RCA out of that amp out to my bass amp. There was a high speed switching noise in the audio. I purchased the LC2i, used that to interface with my Factory Head Unit, then from that to my 2 amps. High speed switching noise gone. Plus it was feeding a nice clean and clear high voltage signal to my amps. Deeper bass and more volume head room. One amp is driving my woofer (with LPF) and the other is driving my rear speakers and the tweeters. I'm use a HPF on my rear speakers. I could not be happier with my system.

Pros: The LC2i is a real problem solver.

Cons: having to play around with the controls to get the sound right.

Highly recommend

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very good substitute for a stock head unit replacement. If you own a late model vehicle, & don't want to replace the stock stereo control head, this is the thing for you. Initial setup was a little trial & error, but once set up properly, it worked as advertised. I was able to eliminate the lows in my stock speakers & basically boost the pre bass notes to the amp with minimal distortion.... if any. Most bang for your buck in my perspective,.... only if you take the time to set it up right!

Pros: Adjust ability, versatility. Easy to install. Compact.

Cons: None really, Know what your attempting to purchase.....

very easy to use

I removed the factory subwoofer from my 2014 ram 1500 and hooked this upto the factory wires. Works amazing the sound quality is awesome the tuneing capabilities are great. I have this hooked to a JL audio hd750/1 and two JL audio w6v3 in a custom box. Highly recommend. Installation time was minimal and straight forward. It accepts upto 400w on the inputs so you can wire it to any head units speaker level output. Crutchfields support and customer service was amazing as always.

Pros: Ease of use, performance, tuneing capabilities.

Cons: None I can think of

First ever online review GREAT!

Written By Dr.Joe, Canada on Wednesday, December 24, 2014

I have never ever written a review for anything online but I thought this product deserved it. It's great. I recently bought an F-150 and tried to tough out the stock system, I couldn't. I installed this today, along with an amplifier and subwoofer, took me a couple hours as I've never removed the dash or floor trim on an F-150. I always had aftermarket audio equipment in my vehicles but did not want to change the deck in the F-150 because it already had everything I wanted; bluetooth, voice command, steering wheel controls, usb and auxiliary but not a subwoofer. I was VERY skeptical about the way this was going to sound but I must say I'm blown away. It sounds just as good as having an aftermarket deck, granted my speakers are not amped but the stereo sounds great and MUCH better than the stock.

I do not recommend installing this if your not comfortable installing stereos as it can be a little tricky if you're not a pro.

Anyways if your looking to add a subwoofer to your factory system THIS IS the product to get.

I thought I'd write a an installation review because I couldn't find a decent one online.

LC2i must have a -12v constant -12v accessory -ground -remote in/out (out going to your amp) -speaker wires that have been tapped into (i did right rear) to the lc2i -rca's from lc2i to your amp

5 stars!

Pros: great sound easy to install (if you've installed stereos before) lots of tuning options

Cons: a little to big to hide, about the size of a postcard

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Fantastic product. Tried using hi level inputs, but sounded terrible. Thought about one of those $20 dollar LOCs, but after talking to some other installers decided against it. One installer told me that his rockford fosgate distributor uses all audiocontrol equipment. After installing, I had to turn the Accubass feature all the way down. It may be good for subwoofers but I'm using for my full range amplifier (Helix Blue B Two) and 6x9 (Pioneer TS-D6902) combo. It's crazy how much extra bass this thing can produce. Can't tell the difference between this with a stock hu and a good aftermarket hu.

Pros: Quality signal output

Cons: Slight "pop" when turning car on

worked for a bit....

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Worked for a few months, then it was turning my amp off and on while I want in the car. Woke up to a dead battery not knowing that's what it was doing. Jump started my car, drove to work and made sure my car would start before working my shift. After my shift, dead battery. Jumped my car and got a new battery. After installing it I went over my car trying to find the problem, look in the trunk and there it is. My amp going in and off due to this product. So now I'm out 80 for lc2i and 80 for a new battery. I don't recommend this product from my experience. I may have just got a defective one, who knows.

Cons: Defective

Very nice alternative to a standard LOC. It works exactly as described. The GTO (Auto Turn On feature) works very well and also turns on my amp/sub combination. I still need to spend time find tuning the settings as I am trying to compensate for the roll off from the factory head unit and send the correct signal to the Sound Ordnance B-8PTD

Pros: Easy install, works as described

Cons: More in depth guidance on settings would be appreciated

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced my passive line out converter with the Audio Control device. I had got some new 12 inch JL w3 subs and the sound difference wasnt much better over my old 10 inch w1's. After researching I found this device. Saw great reviews and a great price, so I ordered it. After install it was immediately noticeable that the Audio Control lc2i puts out a much better signal that the standard passive loc. My subs hit harder, deeper, louder, and cleaner. Best alternative to getting an aftermarket head unit, or a way more expensive JL or kicker device. Pay attention to the instructions and do the level matching properly. After all, these settings are what set the lc2i apart from other loc's. After only one day im still playing with the accu-bass setting to see where I like it, as well as gain on my amp. Its also a quality build. Not some little plastic box. I highly recommend.

Pros: Fairly easy install. Quality build, great settings and output.

Cons: None so far.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this to install an aftermarket amplifier & subwoofer in my daughter's 2009 VW Jetta. This does exactly what it states, it provides a high quality pre-amp signal to the amplifier that is free of any noises or turn on/off pops. Setting it up was very easy to do, & the signal sensing feature is a very nice thing to have. There was no need to find a remote trigger source, as this unit sends the amplifier the signal once is senses a signal from the stereo. I highly recommend this unit.

Pros: Easy to use & setup. Provides a high quality signal free of any noise. No need for a remote trigger.

Cons: None

Excellent product, easy installation, if it wasn't for this product I would not have been able to add amplification and additional base to my OEM high end system. The OEM wiring makes it impossible to add on components however the LC2i made it simple and possible!

Pros: Simplicity

Cons: More details on installation of power and ground

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed to replace old PAC unit which failed with the power always on to my subwoofer amp. (killed my battery). Anyways this is also triggered from your car speakers, so when you turn on stereo, it triggers LC2i to fire up and send remote signal to my sub amp. (just like the PAC used too.) Sound and adjustments seem much better from subwoofer as well.

Pros: Easy install, remote trigger features, better sound.

Cons: none.

The best bang for the buck for a cheap mod to your factory radio. Does not have the full features of the JL Cleansweep but it is also only 1/3 the cost. Great if you just want to add a sub.

Pros: Easy to setup and install. Automatically creates a remote line from the speaker line input which is a great feature.

Cons: None.

Wow, this thing is great. My '14 Silverado came with the Bose soundsystem upgrade. It sounded good, but needed more bass to sound "complete". The LC2I is the magic link that makes the addition of a subwoofer to a late-model vehicle so transparent and easy.

Pros: Ease of installation, fits just about anywhere, works as advertised, economical

Cons: vague connection information/no schematics

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the LC2i to addan additional subwoofer to my factory subs in a Chrysler 300. This device made it simple to just tap off one of the existing sub's speaker wiring for an input and gave me line level outputs to my Alpine amp for the new sub.The Great Turn On (GTO) circuit works well to provide a trigger for my added amp. All I had to do was run battery lines to the amp - a great benefit since finding a "switched" 12 volt signal on this car is about impossible with canbus control of just about everything! The Accu-bass circuitry works really well, too, providing me with just a small shelved boost in the lowest frequencies, since my factory radio already has pretty decent frequency response at all volume levels. I would highly recommend this unit for newer vehicles, especially if you have canbus controlled power everywhere.

Pros: small size, well thought out design, excellent performance, virtually silent.

Cons: documentation could be better, but still easy enough to figure out.

Big Difference!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product was advised to me by a Crutchfield tech support member. I have an 06 MINI cooper S that I removed the Harman Kardon system from and replaced with an Arc Audio MINI 4 channel amp driving Inegral Audio 6.5" Infinity 2 ways up front and 2 6" JL 6W3v3's in the rear. I called Crutchfield to seek help from a lack of bass. I would have to dial my stock radio's bass setting all the way up and crank the volume in order to get any sort of noticeable bass output from the subs. This was also after I dialed up the output on the amplifier. The tech support recommended the LC2i which I have since installed and immediately it has made a major difference.

The sound quality even from my front 2 ways are improved. Overall Rock, Alternative and Classical music all sound great with the LC2i knobs all at the center position. Rap music however is overpowering for the bass and I have to turn the bass knob down a couple clicks on the radio when playing bass.

Also, the automatic turn-on feature worked great for the LC2i, however for whatever reason, installing this no longer kept the functionality of the automatic turn on for my amplifier. No big deal though, I used the remote on output from the LC2i and wired into the remote turn on input for my amplifier.

Overall this has been an excellent product and probably the best <$100 upgrade I've made to my audio system yet.

Pros: Small package- easy to fit/hide Great sound output Simple set up, I actually like that it only allows 2 channel mode F&R Well balanced output for everything but Rap

Cons: Lack of 'troubleshooting' in the included 'instructions'- had to google what the red light meant (means on) Automatic turn on works for LC2i but killed the function for my amplifier Too much bass output for Rap music

Pros: works as advertised and is easy to install with a factory radio

Cons: could be in a nicer looking housing

Got this to add a sub to my VW factory system and couldn't be happier! Even though its a 2 channel, it has a sub output in addition to a 2 channel output, so I may use it to drive a two channel amp and power my focals up front!

Cons: None!

Not bad

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I think its ok. I dont listen to RAP and the bass boost is probably more suited to Rap which is more boomy. I like rock and I would have prefered a more dry punchy bass you can feel. What I get instead is boomy rap sound. I have played my sub that I used in this sytem in other vehicles using aftermarket headunits and I know what it supposed to sound like. This definitely adds the bass back, but the accubass it too boomy for me to give it 5 stars. Many of you younger folks listening to todays music will be delighted. It gives you very loud very strong pounding bass...its just too boomy for me.

Pros: clean signal. Good for adding an amp to a stock head unit.

Cons: should have had better control to shape the bass to what you prefer. dry or boomy

I must be the only guy thats had a problem with this LOC. I purchased it to based on the fact it had a 5 star rating from this site. And I'm always down to spend the money and get something thats right for the job. Long story short everything was hooked up "right" because redid it 3 times after the LOC wasn't working. The LOC has to be a defected product because I did my research and this LOC was acting in the manner that a defected product does. So waiting to get the same new one and will try this again people. Note that this review is based on the fact that I'm the rare person who has had problems with this LOC. This product seems legit and thats why I'm getting the same one. One more Note: the remote subwoofer adjuster didn't work when we plugged it in. Thought that was weird too :(

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After researching different options, I chose the LC2i to add a stealth subwoofer to a newly purchased VW Golf. I have done numerous installs in the past, but this one differred as it is a "grown-up" application, meant to be undetectable (except to the ears). This Audiocontrol device is oustanding. The quality and quantity of the signal provides clarity and low noise, and the GTO function works perfectly, and in fact provided a switched 12 volt supply for the amp that was installed with it, a Rockford Fosgate R500 1D. The setup instructions are "subtle," to put it nicely. However there is a wealth of information available, as well as great customer support with Audiocontrol.

Pros: High quality signal Tuning flexibility Excellent build quality

Cons: Vague instructions

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this on my 2012 Dodge Challenger and this is one amazing LOC. I tapped into my rear right speaker and it gives an amazing, strong signal to my 300watt Sony amp. The signal quality is just as good a RCA output on an aftermarket radio but this device allows me to keep my Bluetooth, steering wheel controls and Satellite radio on my stock system. Install is easy for a rookie like me, took about 2 hours but most of that time was spent making a nice clean setup. I used a line tap(from auto zone) from my fuse box to power the LC2i.

Pros: Great for amps that don't have adjustment knobs, signal is strong and just as good as an RCA, automatically turns on with your factory stereo

Cons: none

LC2i Mustang Shaker 500

Written By Ernest, New Mexico on Wednesday, February 20, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Product helped get me more sub-woofer volume from the stock mustang system that I installed an amp and a 10" sub in the trunk. The speaker level inputs from the Shaker 500 weren't doing a good enough job supplying my amp with a good signal. Tried two different brand loc's, went pure line level and I even bought another amp trying to nail down this issue. Since adding the LC2i I can now turn down my amp gain and have plenty of room to spare. Didn't notice any depth improvements in the low frequency ranges and the GTO didn't work but the sub-woofer volume range is improved and the whole system sounds much richer as a result. For me it was worth the money, thank you Crutchfield.

Pros: Definitely improves signal strength to the amplifier inputs.

Cons: GTO feature didn't work with my application and wish the lows were a tad bit lower.

I hooked the AudioControl LC2i up to my stock stereo in my 2012 Subaru Impreza with no issues. The directions were straight forward and easy to understand. After I hooked up my amp and sub woofer, I plunged the battery back up and was anxious to test this product out. At first, the amp didn't kick on with the remote wire that was attached to the AudioControl LC2i, but I quickly figured out that my fuse was blown on my power wire that connected my amp. I replace the fuse and was extremely excited that everything was working and the base that came out of my sub-woofer was amazing!! I am very pleased with this product and everything worked like it should. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Pros: Easy to install, Great base sound from stock stereo, small and easy to hide

Cons: None that I can think of

Works great with my shaker 500, you just have to set the accubass Threshold to the lowest setting then you can turn the bass level up to what you desire. The AccuBass you can leave in the middle or turn it up to add deeper bass to your radio since the shaker 500 does not have roll off bass.

Pros: Best way to add bass to a factor radio Company support response time

Cons: no directions for dealing with radios that don't have roll off bass

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to use and install I have it pushing two soundstream amps and a pair of sundown audio 8s sounds great and easy adjustments. Installed in a 2011 ford f150 SCREW

Pros: Easy to install easy adjustments turns on amps with signal sensing and still can use factory deck

Cons: Really none except I can notice some bass feedback through my mids and highs at high volume

Highly recommended

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I first purchased a vehicle specific sub enclose with a 10" sub and built in 300W amp with built in hi-level inputs. It was rather high end and rather expensive. I tapped into the rear speaker wires for the input. I was so disappointed with that setup I wound up returning it, output was just subpar and even with the gain all the way up I could not get the bass level high enough compared to the other speakers. Thinking it was the equipment I went back to what I knew, a JL Audio 10" sub and this time a 600W amp to drive it. The amp also had built in hi-level inputs and I hooked it up the same rear speaker inputs. I once again was not happy with the volume level and had to resort to using the bass boost on the amp to get the sub volume up and was not happy as the bass response was no longer linear. Being more familiar with the equipment I now knew the issue wasn't there, it simply had to be the level of signal going into the amp as compared to the volume going to the speakers. I needed a stronger, louder input going into the amp. I picked up an LC2i and the difference is amazing. I went from being disappointed with the amp gain at 5/6 and the bass boost at 6db to now the sub hits very hard with the amp gain at 1/2 and the bass boost at 0db. (I'm not even using the AccuBass) I had no idea an external converter could make such a difference but the ability to control the signal level going into the amp really helped to get the full potential out of my amp and sub

Pros: Sound quality and additional volume

Cons: None really. It's another device to install but it's small.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this product plus the optional bass remote on my Daughters new 2013 ford focus with my ford touch/sony hd/navigation radio with factory amp and factory sub in the trunk. I simply ran a power wire from the battery to the trunk where the alpine mrp500 was placed under the trunk mat. I used the the wires going into the factory sub for the input of the lci. No turn on wire required. Used the 12 volt off the alpine amp to power the lci. Boom turned on all the system and the two alpine twelves sound great. I did not even adjust the lci just used it how it came and turned the gain down to half on the amp which is powering two alpine type s shallow mounts. The bass knob on the dash made it great to turn it up when needed which is does need to be at all. Going to buy one for my new ford f150

Pros: Easy install and way to add amp to factory system

Cons: none

Great Product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently added a subwoofer and amplifiers to my factory receiver and have tried many line output converters including the pac models, but was less than impressed with the sound quality of these converters. I recently decided to try the Audiocontrol LC2i converter and was amazed at the improved sound quality! The extra dough for the audiocontrol LC2i is well worth it !

2011 F-150 Sony Factory Sub Replacement

Written By Steve, NC on Monday, December 31, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Like many others, I don't normally write reviews on products purchased online. However, I rely heavily on these, so I thought it only fair that I write one that might help someone else. I purchased this to install in my F-150 Platinum in order to replace the Sony factory subwoofer and maintain the factory system. I used a JL 500/1 amp and 10" JL sub with an enclosure I built myself to place under the rear seat. I had already set up the amp installation with a local installer, but after deciding to purchase the LC2i (because the installer said he would need to use some sort of LOC) I thought maybe I could try this myself. 20 years ago I used to install car audio systems as a hobby, but a lot has changed with factory audio and the wiring has gotten a lot more complex. After researching some online forums I found that running the power from the battery to where I had the amp and LC2i mounted would be pretty easy. It wasn't until after I looked a little closer at the LC2i that I noticed it had the GTO feature. It took about an hour to run the power from the battery and get everything wired up (used both sets of DVC factory sub line inputs for signal), but once it was wired the LC2i worked like a champ. Using the GTO feature I avoided having to find a remote wire for the amp, and the LC2i picked up my incoming audio signal immediately. While I haven't finished tuning it, I can tell you that this is a MUST HAVE if you are installing a mono amp to replace your factory sub.

Pros: Ease of installation and the GTO feature in place of a remote turn-on wire.

Cons: None for me...this thing works exactly as designed

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ya know, my pet peeve is trying to hide these factory add on pieces just because you already have to find a place for the amp and wiring, but man this thing is tiny, it fit behind my wife's focus factory cd player no problem. Used wire taps (I know I know not the wisest choice, but they are holding strong) and the unit turns right on with the car. I went ahead and used the audio sensing feature but if it quits working I will tap into the switched 12v for the remote, but at the moment not necessary. The 9V max pre-outs are awesome, puts a super strong signal to your amp, I bared had to use the gain/trim. Great overall build and product, seems the company really stands behind their products. Didn't find any use for the accubass feature, I left all the dials in the middle and it worked out just fine, figured I would use the amp as my gain/trim....worked out just fine.

Pros: Perfect for factory stereos, strong pre-outs

Cons: None that I know far

A must have for factory add-on

Spend the extra money and go with the LC2i. The audiophile quality is amazing! User friendly and easy to install.

Pros: Easy to install and don't need to run a remote wire.

Cons: None. Another great product from audiocontrol.

Awesome Sound

Written By Dave, NJ on Thursday, November 08, 2012

This thing is awesome, read a prior review by someone with a WRX and got nervous because it wasn't a good review, but I think that user installed it wrong. In the wrx you need to tap the front speakers as the EQ pushes everything to the fronts. The sound vs using the high level inputs on a kenwood amp is night and day. Sounds like it should sound. Love the adjustability and it just sounds insane! Get this now.

Works perfectly

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Audio Control LC2i works perfectly as advertised. My Mustang w/ Shaker 500 sounded good, but it lacked deeper bass. There are no Line-Outs on the head unit. The LC2i took a good audio signal from the door subwoofer outs and gave a strong signal to my new subwoofer amp in the trunk. The remote control for it works well too and it is easy to mount anywhere. Because the LC2i only draws 150mA, tapping for power was simple. A few caveats... the settings are a bit tricky to get right, but work well once you figure it out. The youtube video helps. A more detailed technical instruction sheet would have improved things. Lastly, the compact size made it a breeze for mounting. This LOC made adding an amplifier to my Shaker 500 a breeze and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone wanting to improve their factory sound. A+ Product.

Pros: Perfect design, flexible audio settings, compact, remote control accessory works well too. Not too expensive.

Cons: Paltry instructions.

Audio Control LC2i - 2007 Range Rover

Written By Ben L, Ann Arbor, MI on Friday, November 02, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit to be able to add an aftermarket amp and sub in my 2007 Range Rover (LM 322) with factory stereo/nav/logic 7 surround sound. The car came with a weak factory sub/amp so I removed the stock sub and tapped into the wiring from the stock amp, after the stock sub. I was told to keep the stock amp because of the way the Range Rover electronics work. So I took the wires from the stock sub and wired them to the LC2i +/- line inputs.

What is nice about the LC2i is that it has Remote In, Remote Out, and a 12V+ terminals on it to be able to turn on/off the amp when turning on/off the car. You don't need a separate remote turn on. So I wired the 12V+ to a constant power source, and the Remote Out to my aftermarket amp, and both the LC2i and aftermarket amp only turn on when the car is is switched on.

Since I don't have one of those factory radios that plateaus the bass levels as the volume increases, I just adjust the LC2i's settings accordingly. I turned the Bass Threshold knob all the way up (clockwise), and then the AccuBASS knob + Main level knob + Bass level knob all the way down (counter-clockwise). However, I had to search online forums and what not for proper adjustment settings because the LC2i didn't come with any detailed instructions based on the kind of stereo you had. It just explains what the GTO and AccuBASS are.

Pros: Remote Turn-On Two Sets of Line-Outs for adding up to two amps Level Adjustments Size

Cons: No detailed installation or sound adjustment instructions

Best thing since sliced bread!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm 38, and back when I was younger, I used to install alot of stereos for friends, etc. Things have come along way since then, and this product is definately one of the best things I've seen! Its simple to install, and the adjustments are very straight forward. Its really compact, and I love the fact that it automatically turns on when it senses a signal from the speakers inputs. It also has a remote out connection, so you can hook it to your amp, and it will turn the amp on and off automatically too when you turn your radio on and off. It makes putting amps, etc so simple when running along with factory radios, and speakers. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their factory system.

Pros: compact design, auto on, off, and the ability to run a remote wire from it to your amp, and turn it on and off automatically too! The sound reproduction is excellent also.

Cons: NONE

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Awesome product and it works as advertised in my 2011 Chevrolet Malibu. Here's a quick run down of how I installed this to help everyone out there. The really nice thing about this product is that you only need to run one wire from the front of the car to the rear and that is the power cable for the amp. Then I grounded the amp to the tailight bolt. So once that was done I tapped into the rear speaker wires from each speaker + and -. Ran those to the LC2i. Then I ran a small power and ground from the amp to the LC2i. Hooked up the RCA cables from the amp to the LC2i and speaker wires to the sub and that was it! The really nice thing about this product is that there is no need for the remote wire, as the stereo signal to the rear speakers does this for you. Tip- adjust amp to lowest level then go from there tuning the LC2i and the amp to find the best sound. I recommend this product as it did everything that it advertised.

Pros: Easy install No remote wire needed Made in USA

Cons: Instructions could be better

This thing works! I didn't want to buy a new head unit for my '08 Maxima because I have OEM Nav and that would leave me with a big blank screen and no display for many things. I also wanted my car to appear stock to anyone with thoughts of breaking in. My car came with Bose speakers, so we just added this LC2i, 0 gauge wiring, a JL fuse block, a stinger distribution block, 2 12" JL Audio W3's and a JL 500/1 amp to run them. I was skeptical, but am now very pleasantly surprised. Highs are loud and clear and obviously the bass pounds. Perfect set up for me!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothiny

Old school equipment just didn't work like this. I installed this in a lincoln continental and pared it with a bridged kenwood kac-1502s amp with kenwood's 12 inch subwoofer in a tube and bam, blow your hat off bass, from a factory stereo.

Pros: It just works very well providing installation is proper.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Fixed 2011 Dodge Ram with Factory Radio

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Had an issue of a severe lack of bass from a subwoofer I installed to my factroy system in my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The lack of bass was present when listening to Sirius Radio or mp3's. The cd player was ok. This little box fixed it! The bass is loud and proud. The rep I called at Crutchfield didn't think the LC2i would cure my problem. Let it be known, it cured it in a big way!! I would suggest this item for anyone needing a line out converter for integrating anything into a factory system!

Pros: Awesome product that really works. Well worth the money!

Doesn't turn on, doesn't sound good once turned on

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Ugh, where do I begin. I reviewed this product on multiple sites including this one to find out it is the best solution out there for using your OEM head unit with an aftermarket amplifier. Well, I can't say I agree. This is going to be one of those one off reviews where people gloss over it because the majority of reviews are heaping praise on the product and people won't take it with a grain of salt but humor me and listen.

I have a 2011 Subaru WRX and I'm keeping the factory head unit so I don't need to buy an aftermarket head unit, bluetooth and steering wheel adapter. Anywho, I tapped into the Right Rear speaker with a soldered connection for optimum connection and ran the wire to the LC2i. Ran the power cables from my capacitor to the unit, ran the remote wire from the unit to the amp (the amp is properly connected to the cap also), turned the car with the radio on, AANNDD nothing. The LC2i just sat there and slept. I played around with the jumper to make sure it was in the proper auto detect position, still nothing. I checked all the wiring again and again and still nothing. I resorted to running the remote wire from the accessory wire from behind the factory stereo to the LC2i and that turn the thing on, FINALLY. Phew. But the quality of the audio signal is less than ideal. The knobs to control the volume and quality didn't do anything and the overall volume was inconsistent, kept cutting out.

Needless to say, I'm getting better quality going directly to the amp.

Pros: The concept is great. Small and lightweight

Cons: Everything. The auto turn on didn't work. Once I got it turned on, the volume was inconsistent and kept cutting out. Power terminals too close to each other which leads to risk in the wires crossing and arcing. The signal it processed was causing the sub to only hit and not be smooth.

I just installed it in my 2012 Mustang and it sounds AMAZING. I have never used a stock deck with my systems, but with this LC2i I will keep it in my Stang! Looks factory and sounds GREAT. Plus with the GTO function, you don't have to run a remote turn-on wire.

Pros: Simple install, LOVE the GTO function!

This device was many great! I very much enjoy the bass now. It provide many sub levels that were not able to be heard. My bass was very missing on certain frequencies and I could only listen to street bass and metal-house, but now I can listen to hip hop! Make sure you turn down your bass boost on amp the lc2i and the amp will fight the battle of the bass.

Pros: Easy to install . Accubass is the chronic I got a new girlfriend because she loves to booty shake to my bass

Cons: Didnt come with a second one that I could give to my installer as payment for his many great hours of work put into my car

This product works very well. I have an MK6 GTI with the 300W DynAudio stereo system. I added a sub and quickly discovered the OEM stereo rolled off the bass. I was able to tune the LC2i perfectly using a SPL meter and test tones, and I'm thrilled with how well it worked. No more constantly adjusting my sub volume, and it hits cleaner, harder, and deeper! Great product!

Pros: Corrects bass defeat in OEM stereo systems for a great price.

Cons: Not the best setup instructions, but was able to figure it out.

Works as advertised

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It takes speaker level inputs and converts it to something useful for my amp. I'm using this in my Audi A6 w/B&O to add a large subwoofer to the system. The auto-on feature upon detection of signal from speakers works well on the standard speaker lines but it doesn't for *my* install which is off the subwoofer line. Not a big deal, just needed to hook up a 12v source to turn it on. I'm pleased with the product.

Pros: -Works well -Handles the 'high' power from the premium system -Tunable bass compensation (nice touch for those who need it)

Cons: The remote bass control really should have been included in the kit rather than a separate add-on. It's a telephone cable and (probably) a variable resistor. Can't dock a star for this though as it is not a part of the package.

After being frustrated with numerous $20-$30 Line Output Converters, I finally coughed up the money for the AC LC2i. The price is more than reasonable for what the unit delivers. I LOVE that I can keep my factory head unit, steering wheel controls, nav, etc. The signal this thing sends to the amp is crystal clear. I used mine for a simple amp+sub install, and it sounds great!

Stop wasting time with cheap LOC's. This thing is perfect.

Pros: Small size, easy installation, works exactly as advertised.

Cons: Nothing noted!

The LC2i is probably the best investment I have made for my car. I have a 2003 Mercedes E320 and didnt want to remove the APS 50 radio that came with the car since it has navigation and I like the appareance. What I did is remove the original subwoofer in the rear deck of the car and hook up the LC2i from those cables and man does it do a good job. Everybody said that I couldnt install an after market radio because Mercedes uses fiber optic. Naaaahhh!!! With this little guy in my car, my car is loud!!! I also install dynamat in the license plate and there is absolutely no rattle just solid bass. I cant recommend the Audio control LC2i enough to anybody that wants to add amps to their car without removing the OEM radio. If youre installing an aftermarket amp in your mercedes completely remove the OEM sub to let the air go into the cabin and youre good to go also since the OEM sub is a dual voice coil you can use the second pair of cable to add a second amp to connect your door speaker if you want to change them. Awesome just awesome!!!

Pros: easy install great voltage ouput for your sub accubass module for any OEM radio

Cons: nothing at all!!
