High output BETA Series mics

Shure has been setting the standard for audio for over 80 years. They engineered their BETA® Series mics to provide powerful output and resistance to feedback, and their rugged construction ensures they'll stand up to the tough conditions you'll find on the road.

Shure BETA 56A microphone

The hardened mesh grille is designed to withstand hard knocks, even a whack from an errant drum stick.

Get close

Shure designed the BETA 56A dynamic microphone for close miking instruments in a live show or a recording session. The integrated stand adapter keeps it securely in place, while the advanced pneumatic shock mount system minimizes vibrations — even when you're miking drums. The BETA 56A features a frequency response curve that'll make your drums and instruments sound their best, while its supercardioid pattern rejects sounds from other instruments.

    Why a dynamic mic?

Dynamic microphones are engineered for the rigors of live performance and life on the road. Thanks to a very simple and rugged design concept that relies on few internal parts and no electronic components, they're tough, durable, and require no outboard power source to operate. Looking to outfit your church's PA system with vocal microphones? Need to mike your lead guitarist's cabinet for a big club gig? You'll find dynamic mics to fit the bill. If, however, you're looking for a recording microphone to capture sounds in exquisite detail, consider a condenser mic instead.
