About the Shure GLXD2/BETA58
It's something new
It's something new
The GLXD2/BETA58 is a member of Shure's GLX-D family of digital wireless systems, designed to set you free onstage. It marries the GLXD2 digital wireless transmitter with the BETA58 microphone capsule to capture vocals with Shure quality.
To broadcast you
The GLXD2 offers up to 16 hours of operation on its rechargable lithium-ion battery. The GLXD2/BETA58's typical indoor range is up to 100 feet, with a maximum of 200 feet under ideal conditions; its outdoor range is up to 65 feet, 165 feet under ideal conditions. The transmitter automatically links to the GLXD4 and GLXD6 receivers (not included) for seamless operation.
LinkFreq Automatic Frequency Management makes it simple – just turn on your receiver and transmitter, and they'll automatically pair up on the best available frequency. If you encounter unexpected interference, the system instantly switches to the next best open frequency, with no interruption. You can run up to 8 systems on a single stage in ideal conditions, up to 4 systems in most situations.
With sound that's true
The GLXD2/BETA58 features the BETA58 microphone capsule. The BETA58's high output, supercardioid pattern and voice-tailored frequency response have made it a favorite among vocalists and engineers. The BETA58 capsule also has a pneumatic shock mount system and a grille of hardened steel to protect the mechanism and keep handling noise at a minimum.
What will you do?
The GLXD2 transmitter and the BETA58 capsule are designed to deliver Shure sound quality with the freedom of wireless technology. What you do with it is up to you.

Features
Overview: The Shure GLXD2/Beta 58A Handheld Wireless Microphone System consists of the Beta 58A Handheld Dynamic Microphone cartridge, and a GLXD2 Handheld transmitter. It does not include the GLXD4 Wireless Receiver (sold separately). GLX-D Digital Wireless Systems have a typical operating range of up to 100 feet indoors or 65 feet outdoors, with a maximum range in ideal conditions of 200 feet indoors and 165 feet outdoors. In a typical setting, you can simultaneously operate up to 4 compatible systems, and up to 8 under ideal conditions. This receiver works on the Z2 frequency band.
LINKFREQ: The GLX-D Digital Wireless systems feature LINKFREQ Automatic Frequency Management. When the system is powered up, the receiver continuously analyzes the available frequencies. The receiver and transmitter automatically link using the best set of available frequencies. In the event of interference, the receiver and transmitter intelligently move together to another open frequency without any interruption of audio.
GLXD2/Beta 58A: This system includes a GLXD2 handheld transmitter with the Beta 58A microphone cartridge. The Beta 58A is a precision-engineered microphone cartridge, optimized for lead and background vocal applications. It has a supercardioid polar pattern. The GLXD2 is powered by the SB902 rechargeable battery. It also has Micro USB battery charging port. To save battery life, the transmitter automatically powers off after approximately 1 hour if it is no longer linked to a receiver.
SB902 Battery: The GLXD1 and GLXD2 transmitters are powered by a single Shure SB902 Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. The battery's advanced chemistry produces zero memory effects, eliminating the need to discharge the battery prior to charging. A fully-charged battery which provides approximately 16 hours of continuous battery life. The battery can be charged inside the transmitter when connected to an AC power source or USB connection, or charged in the GLXD4 receiver's built-in charging bay. The approximate battery charging and transmitter runtimes are as follows:
Receiver Bay or AC Power Source | USB Charging | Transmitter Runtime |
---|---|---|
15 minutes | 30 minutes | up to 1.5 hours |
30 minutes | 1 hour | up to 3 hours |
1 hour | 2 hours | up to 6 hours |
3 hours | 4 hours | up to 16 hours |
