Get off on the right foot with PG Series microphones

Need a good mic, but you're on a budget? Shure built their PG Series microphones for your rehearsals, recording sessions, or performances. They're designed to reject noise and limit feedback, and they boast the durability that's made Shure microphones the industry standard for many years.

For the spoken word

Musicians aren't the only people who need microphones that bring out the best. Shure's PG48 microphone is tuned to optimize the sound of your speaking voice, perfect when you're giving a lecture, delivering a sales presentation, or recording a voice over. The PG48 also works well for singers, and its built-in "pop" filter reduces heavy breath sounds that can mar a performance. The PG48 can handle extreme volume levels without distortion, while its cardioid design rejects sounds from the side and rear to lessen susceptibility to feedback.

    Why a dynamic mic?

Dynamic microphones are engineered for the rigors of live performance and life on the road. Thanks to a very simple and rugged design concept that relies on few internal parts and no electronic components, they're tough, durable, and require no outboard power source to operate. Looking to outfit your church's PA system with vocal microphones? Need to mike your lead guitarist's cabinet for a big club gig? You'll find dynamic mics to fit the bill. If, however, you're looking for a recording microphone to capture sounds in exquisite detail, consider a condenser mic instead.

Overview: The Shure PG48 is a rugged professional microphone designed for spoken word and karaoke performance applications. It has an on-off switch for on-stage control. This PG48-LC model comes with a swiveling stand mount and a zippered carrying bag.

Pickup Pattern: The PG48 is has a cardioid polar pattern, which picks up the most sound from directly in front of the microphone, and some sound from the sides. This makes it less susceptible to feedback.

Construction: The microphone has a durable metal construction, with a die cast metal handle and a black matte finish. The hardened steel mesh ball grille protects the internal elements, and resists wear and abuse. Inside the grille is an integrated "pop" filter that reduces explosive breath sounds and wind noise.

Mounting: The PG48 comes with a swiveling stand mount, which provides a secure mount to a floor stand or a boom stand. The microphone slips into the swivel mount, which lets you tilt the microphone forward or backward over 180°.

Connector: The Shure PG48 has a 3-pin male XLR connector. No microphone cable is included in this package.
