Get off on the right foot with PG Series microphones

Need a good mic, but you're on a budget? Shure built their PG Series microphones for your rehearsals, recording sessions, or performances. They're designed to reject noise and limit feedback, and they boast the durability that's made Shure microphones the industry standard for many years.

Pick up the details

Nuance and detail are everything when you're working with acoustic instruments. Shure built the PG81 condenser microphone with the sensitivity to capture the quiet moments, and with a flat response that records instruments without coloration. The cardioid design ensures you'll pick up the sounds you want from the instrument, but not sonic information coming from the sides, making the PG81 less susceptible to feedback.

Durable and versatile

The PG81 boasts metal construction so it'll stand up to life on stage. You can operate the PG81 through phantom power or with a AA battery, and it has a handy on/off switch for on-stage control.

    Other Info:

    Why a condenser mic?

Need to pull the full harmonic complexity from a solo cello? Want to make the most of that magnificent German studio grand piano you spent way too much for? Or maybe you understand that the magic of swing comes from the insistent ping of a deftly controlled ride cymbal, and you're determined to capture it in glorious detail. You'll likely end up with a condenser mic; these simply designed, yet incredibly precise, recording instruments are far more responsive to sonic vibration than their "dynamic" cousins (who, with some exceptions, are more appropriate for PA systems). Whatever your hi-fi recording needs, there's a condenser mic out there with your name on it.
