Stereo music from a single speaker

Niles designed their CM7SI in-ceiling speaker tight spaces where installing multiple speakers isn't practical. With inputs for both left and right channels, this one speaker reproduces the entire stereo music signal. And its hideaway in-ceiling design makes it perfect for hallways, galley kitchens, or other spots around your home where you want to add music.

Carefully designed by the custom-installation experts

Niles has decades of experience designing custom-install speakers, and it shows with the CM7SI. Its7" glass-fiber woofer is 1/2" larger than most speakers in its class, for richer, fuller bass response. Its dual 1" fluid-cooled UltraSilk® dome tweeters are aimed at opposing angles to increase dispersion and stereo separation, so you can hear two channels of music in a wide area. Top it off with the included magnetic snap-on grille and you're good to go. And with weather-resistant construction, this speaker can go most places you'd like it to, indoors or out. Plus, it's covered by Niles' lifetime warranty.

Overview: The Niles Audio CM7SI Ceiling Mount speaker has two inputs and dual tweeters. Stereo input speakers are designed for spaces where multiple speakers are not practical. They provide clear stereo sound from a single speaker. The CM7SI comes with a magnetically-attached paintable metal grille.

Note: The CM7SI is packaged as a single speaker.

Drivers: The CM7SI has a 7" glass fiber cone woofer with dual voice coils to reproduce left and right inputs from a single speaker. The integrated woofer/baffle design increases the cone area, which enhances the low frequency response. Dual 1" fluid-cooled UltraSilk dome tweeter provides wide dispersion of detailed high frequencies. The bridge-mounted stereo imaging tweeter array directs the high frequency sounds from both the left and right channels at opposing angles to preserve stereo separation.

Grille: The CM7SI includes a 10" diameter MicroThin grille, which attaches magnetically to the speaker. The 1/4" thick grille is easy to install, and blends with the room's aesthetics. It is rust-resistant, and paintable to match any décor. An optional SG7C square grille is also available, if desired.

Weather-Resistant: The frame, speaker, and grille are weather-resistant, so you can install the speaker in moist environments, including bathrooms and outdoors under eaves.

Speaker Terminals: The CM7SI is equipped with dual spring clip terminals, which can accept up to 12-gauge speaker wire. For wire runs of less than 80 feet, 16-gauge wire is recommended. You should use 14-gauge wire for runs of 80-200 feet, and 12-gauge wire for runs over 200 feet.

Note: When running speaker wire inside walls or ceilings, special jacketed cable (CL-2 or CL-3) should be used to protect the wire and for fire prevention. If unsure, you should consult your local building inspectors about code compliance requirements.

Installation: Installing the speaker requires a 8-1/2" cutout. The speaker requires a depth of 3-3/4" behind standard 5/8" drywall. There are three spring-loaded mounting clamps with screws that tighten from the front.
