The Niles SSVC-6 replaces these items:

Product Research

Features

Construction: The chassis is durable black metal with padded feet.

Speaker Switches: Each set of speaker outputs has an on/off switch so any combination of connected speakers can be played at any given time.

Removable Speaker Terminals: There are six removable speaker output terminal blocks and one removable speaker input terminal block. The blocks are removable, making it easier to wire the SSVC-6 into your system, and the blocks accept 12 to 22 gauge wire.

Protection Circuitry: The left and right channel ground returns are isolated to make the unit compatible with all types of amplifiers. The impedance magnification switch on the rear of the unit offers settings for up to six pair of speakers so the impedance load presented to the amplifier remains constant.

Note: It is recommended to verify that the receiver or amplifier is capable of driving a 4-ohm load.

Volume Controls: The volume controls use autoformers instead of L-pads to minimize power loss and heat production. Each volume control uses a 12 position rotary knob with "pop-free" switching and 54dB total attenuation.

Labels: Included are 72 pre printed label stickers for easy identification of the front panel controls.

Specifications:

  • Frequency Response: 20-20kHz +/-1.2 dB
  • Power Handling: 100 watts per channel RMS at 8 ohms

Q
I found out that my electrician wired some of my ceiling speakers in parallel and others not. Im nervous that I'll have issues hooking all 10 speakers up from an impedance standpoint. I don't plan to ever push the speakers real hard. Any advice on this situation?

Don't know if this helps but I put in 10 speakers. I replaced a receiver a few years later. Some had told me I probably had to many speakers and it probably burned up the receiver. It was an inexpensive receiver so I don't know. I never played the speakers loud either.

Hello MaRxx: As you may have done I went to the web and found this posting which may help you. Searching "audio speaker wiring parallel v series" the post by Geoffthegreygeek may be helpful. The Niles SS 6 VC I purchased 10 years ago and use daily with all 12 channels has been flawless. Happy summer listening; Paul

Hi - I'd like something with two digital audio inputs that I could use to control 4 speaker zones with volume, preferably via an app. Any ideas? The Nuvo P3100 comes close but it's only 3 zones and no second digital input. All of my speaker sets are wired - thanks

I don't think we have a single device that will work for the 4 zone control like you seek. I recommend calling us on 1-800-324-9695 to speak with an advisor to see if we any combination of our gear will need your needs. We look forward to hearing from you soon! Q
What kind of amp would be best for this speakers selector and what type of speakers would sound best?

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
