About the Bazooka BTA10250D

Charlie Pastorfield

A bass cannon

Bazooka's BTA10250D 10" amplified Bass Tubes enclosure lets you add ride-filling bass to your system, whether you drive your own vehicle or a leased car. Its 10" woofer combines with a built-in Class D 200-watt amp to delivers strong bass without taking up extra space. A variable low-pass filter allows you to tune the bass output to match up with your vehicle's sound system. You'll also get an installation kit that includes a power/signal harness, 20-amp fuse with holder, straps, and mounting hardware.

A bass cannon

Bass makes up about 30% of your music, and it gives music its power and impact. A good subwoofer can make an average car audio system sound good, and a good car audio system sound great. Good bass is all about moving air, and a cylindrical tube translates the motion of its woofer into maximum air pressure so you hear and feel more bass. Bazooka designed the Bass Tubes enclosure to act like a bass cannon, firing low frequencies throughout your vehicle.

Big bass without losing space

Bass Tubes fit just about anywhere

A compact Bass Tubes enclosure will fit in almost any vehicle, and you can disconnect it in a snap if you need more cargo space. Since the tube's speaker and port are right next to each other, you can get amazing results by "corner loading" your tube — placing it in a corner of your trunk or cargo area so your vehicle's boundaries act as a natural amplifier, boosting bass production.

Double your fun

Want to double your bass? With an optional speaker-level output adapter, you can connect a second passive Bazooka Bass Tube to the built-in amp for a serious boost in bass response. An optional wired Remote Bass Control Module gives you independent in-dash volume control of your bottom end.

Important Note: You'll need to purchase an amp wiring kit to install this powered tube.

Features

Overview: The BTA10250D features a water-resistant poly enclosure that houses a 10" poly woofer with a foam surround. The woofer is powered by a built-in 200-watt digital amplifier. The patented Bass Tube enclosure design eliminates bass standing waves for high accuracy, and superior efficiency.

Low-pass Filter: The BTA10250D has a low-pass filter that can be adjusted from 60 to 250 Hz.

Remote Level/Crossover Control: Using an optional remote control, you can control the bass output level and crossover frequency of the subwoofer from a remote location.

Controls

Level Control: There is a rotary control on the rear-panel that allows you to adjust the level of the subwoofer.

Crossover Control: The unit's rotary control is found on the rear-panel and allows you to adjust the low-pass filter from 60 to 250 Hz.

Power LED: If power, ground and remote are connected properly, the LED on back of the unit will illuminate in green.

Connections

Remote Control: Phone-type jack for use with an optional remote control; found on rear-panel.

Power Harness: Two quick-slides for use with supplied power harness; found on rear-panel.

Signal Harness: 14-pin Molex plug for use with supplied signal harness

Installation

Installation: Each mounting strap has an attached mounting base that can be secured to your vehicle using the supplied self-tapping screws. Once the mounting bases are installed, the tube is held in place by the mounting straps. For best results, the tube should be mounted facing into a corner, and there should be 2" to 4" between the woofer and the corner into which the woofer is pointing.

Required Accessories:

  • Power Wire: the 12-gauge power lead is only 11" long, so additional wire is required to extend it to the battery. Additional power wire must be crimped or soldered to the Bazooka's power lead.
  • Ground Wire: the 12-gauge ground lead is also only 23" long, and may need to be extended. Additional ground wire must be crimped or soldered to the Bazooka's ground lead.
  • Speaker Wire: required only when using the high-level inputs
  • RCA Patch Cord: required only when using the low-level inputs
  • Remote Turn-on Wire: required to connect the remote turn-on lead to the amplifier turn-on lead of your radio

Q
Which 10" bazooka can be used as the the "slave unit" from a 200 watt 10" tube?
corey  Feb 14, 2024
1 answer
A
If you are looking to link two powered Bazooka tubes together Corey, you can use any amplified model with speaker-level inputs as the second tube. The Bazooka BTA1025D in the link below would be an excellent call! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_204BTA1025/Bazooka-BTA10250D.html

Q
I have a Mazda 6 2020 signature with a Boss system. I want to install this bazooka, but I don't want to cut cables or anything like that because I have a factory radio. What system do you have to adapt for installation?
holando  Jan 27, 2024

A
This Bazooka BTA10250D has speaker-level inputs Holando, it is a great choice when connecting to a factory radio! We do not have any vehicle specific adapters for your 2020 Mazda 6 with Bose audio package, but you can use some tools to avoid cutting any wires. For signal input you will need some lengths of 16-gauge speaker wire and the Posi-Tap tools in the first link below. The Posi-Tap tools allow you to "tap-in" for signal without cutting any of your vehicle's wires. To power the Bazooka BTA10250D you will also need the Crutchfield CK10 10-gauge amp wiring kit in the second link below. I hope this helps! https://www.crutchfield.com/p_669PP502/Posi-Products-Car-Speaker-Connectors.html https://www.crutchfield.com/p_007CK10/Crutchfield-CK10.html

Saludos Holando. Gracias por tu pregunta. La Bazooka es universal y puede caber en casi cualquier vehículo. Todo lo que necesitarías agregar sería un kit de cableado de amplificador.

I have an Infinty factory sub in my Kona, could I just convert speaker to line and get away with a short signal run? It's a lease...

There is one further issue with factory subwoofer hi level inputs. Factory amplifiers more often than not ( particularly Bose systems in the Hyundai referenced) cut power to the Subwoofer as volume increases to ensure the cheaper factory speakers are not damaged. for all OEM subwoofer inputs i would suggest the use of a powered LC2i line level converter that can be user adjusted to remove that factory amp signal decrease. its a cheap addition to ensure the thump remains at higher volumes.

Yes you can! It even sounds better than RCAs! Use the high level inputs whenever you can.
