A bass cannon

Bass makes up about 30% of your music, and it gives music its power and impact. A good subwoofer can make an average car audio system sound good, and a good car audio system sound great. Good bass is all about moving air, and a cylindrical tube translates the motion of its woofer into maximum air pressure so you hear and feel more bass. Bazooka designed the Bass Tubes enclosure to act like a bass cannon, firing low frequencies throughout your vehicle.

Bass Tube efficiency

BTA850FH 8" amplified Bass Tubes package

The BTA850FH Bass Tubes package from Bazooka includes a great-sounding TA850C amplified subwoofer tube and convenient factory radio connection kit. With this handy combo, you can enjoy thumping low end with a minimum amount of hassle.

Bazooka's TA850C 8" amplified Bass Tubes enclosure is an ideal solution for getting the thrill of powerful bass without making any permanent modifications, especially handy if you drive a leased vehicle. It features an efficient 8" woofer, a built-in 50-watt amplifier, and mounting hardware. Place the TA850C in a convenient spot in your vehicle, connect it to your car stereo, and enjoy some punchy bass while you drive.

Fits in almost any vehicle

The included F.A.S.T. combination from Bazooka features everything you need to hook up the TA850C to the factory radio in your vehicle: the F.A.S.T.-9999 universal harness and a 16-foot extension cable. The F.A.S.T.-9999 universal harness uses Posi-Tap connectors and simple, reliable plugs to get the signal from your factory radio to the Bass Tube — no splicing needed. Hook the other end of the universal harness up to the 16-foot long F.A.S.T.-BTAH extension cable, which you've connected to the TA850C in the rear of your vehicle.

Bass Tubes enclosures fit just about anywhere

A compact Bass Tubes enclosure will fit in almost any vehicle, and you can disconnect it in a snap if you need more cargo space. Since the tube's speaker and port are right next to each other, you can get amazing results by "corner loading" your tube — placing it in a corner of your trunk or cargo area so your vehicle's boundaries act as a natural amplifier, boosting bass production.

Product Highlights:

  • package includes one TA850C 8" 50-watt powered Bass Tube and F.A.S.T. connection package

F.A.S.T. connection package:

Who needs a powered subwoofer?

To produce bass, you need a sub, an enclosure, and an amplifier, and it can be little tricky to match them all up. A powered sub eliminates all the hassle, as the manufacturer designs the enclosure to house the sub and amp together. This all-in-one solution is especially useful in smaller vehicles, where there's no room to mount a separate amp, or in any vehicle where you need every bit of cargo space. Powered subs range from small, flat boxes that fit under your seat to larger boxes that go in your trunk.

Great value

Written By AJ, New York on Monday, November 23, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the BTA850FH to "fill out" the sound of the stock speaker system. I have a 2001 MB E320 Wagon, with an Alpine head unit(original replaced due to water damage). The stock Bose system is mediocre at best, and there was general tinniness to the sound. Adding the Bazooka really filled out the sound nicely. It's not going to shake houses and buildings outside, but perfect for my goal. It's somewhat larger than I expected(I know, specs are clearly listed), and in a trunk it wouldn't matter much but it's not the prettiest thing to have in the back of the wagon. Nevertheless, very satisfied and easy to install. I wish I had tried the RCA outs on my head unit instead of splicing off the speaker lines, as the head unit allows for control of a subwoofer using the RCAs, but for some reason Bazooka says it is preferable to use the speaker lines, so I went with their suggestion. It'd have been nice to control subwoofer level from the head unit with RCA outs.

Pros: Easy install, excellent value.

Cons: None so far.

Bazooka 10/10

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Sounds great in my single cab f150. Easy install. Directions were a little lacking. Had to find an old wiring diagram for my truck JVC head unit to figure out how to hook it up successfully. I feel if i had the stock head unit still the FAST harness would have made more sense. But thats to be expected when mix matching components. So very satisfied all around. Friends are equally impressed with what this 8in sub can do when corner loaded! I take the long way home now.

Pros: Sounds great. Simple install. Everything you need in one box. Saves space.

Cons: Some critical thinking needed when pairing with aftermarket head units. But not much.

Perfect sounds

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this as a gift. If you on a budget this is the best bang for your bucks. It took me less than an hour for the full install. A few adjustments on the head unit and boom, boom, boom. This sub gives plenty of bass for an 8" Just keep in mind, it's powered by a 50 watt amp so it's not going to rattle your car. But you will feel the difference. I highly recommend this product to anyone that is trying to build a system on a tight budget.

Pros: Very easy to install. No need to run a huge power cable to turn this on. Just tap all the wires to the head unit and ground out the black wire by the sub. A few adjustments to the head unit and sub control (on the back of the sub tube) and your done. After you tuck all the wires that is.

Cons: Only downfall to me was its a lot of wires to tuck. Take your time hiding all the wires and you should be fine.

Tone quality

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I went through 2 band pass units before trying this one. Crutchfield stuck with me all the way until I was satisfied. A+. My 98 Taurus trunk is lined with about 5/8 inches of sound proofing material. The more powerful band pass units were loud enough but just made thud sounds through that material. Not the subwoofers' fault. I had just picked the wrong design for my car. This lower wattage Bazooka produces the tone quality I wanted to blend with the JBL door and deck speakers I had installed. It provides the sound duration that the interior speakers weren't capable of and the result is a truly great system. I have it set to the highest level but it's enough. There is still the occasional slight muffled sound but that's because of the sound deadening material lining the trunk. I thought long and hard about upgrading to the 160 watt unit but didn't think it worth another 150 dollars to 'possibly' overcome the acoustics of the trunk. The key is the tone quality of base notes. The frequency response of this unit is large enough so that it at least matches the good 6 x 9 speakers in the car and the result is a great blending of the sounds. I'm 66 years old and listen to 60's type music where tone variance is very important for quality sound reproduction.

Pros: Great match to my interior speakers.

Cons: Could use about 30 more watts of power for my car. Without the acoustics of my trunk in the way, it would be perfect the way it is.

Finishing Touch!

Written By Dean J., North Carolina on Wednesday, July 08, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Completely replaced the sound system in a '99 Dodge Ram with dry rotted speakers and a factory cassette stereo. Adding the JBL speakers and Pioneer head made a world of difference but when I added the Bazooka - BOOM! Although the Bazooka doesn't fit in the recommended location due to a fold-down seat, it adds just the right amount of punch to fill out the bottom end without rattling the license plate (or your teeth). And installation was a cinch, although the connectors to tap into the dash wiring could be more robust.

Pros: Easy install, convenient gain adjust, great low end without the fuzzy growl

Cons: Tap connectors could be better quality

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a 2011 Suzuki Kizashi with factory speakers that aren't that great. I added a Sirius/XM receiver a couple years ago which lowered the sound even more. I wanted something louder (nothing that wakes up the neighbors or you're at a red light and people are looking at you) I just wanted a good sound system without spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars.... I added the bazooka tube and it sounds great. I couldn't be happier with the sound and quality.

Pros: Great product for the price. Fast shipment.

Cons: None yet

Perfect addition!

Excellent addition to after-market stereo. It adds just the right amount of thump to the sound. It won't rattle your teeth, just sounds good. Neighbors, fear not! Easy install. Seriously took less than an hour from the moment we took it out of the box. Everything needed for the install came with it. Overall, very pleased.

Pros: Perfect amt of bass to compliment a variety of musical styles. Ease of install. No running to Radio shack for supplies.

Cons: Really, none.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect for the person that wants to experience all types of music and great with a factory head unit, your not going to blow out the neighborhood with this thing but it sure sounds like you are. I am very surprised with every song I throw at it, if your a rock fan you'll love it, first try was Pantera, Rage and then White Zombie and it added an impressive amount of power to the music, cool thing about it you can switch straight to rap or whatever without adjustment.

Pros: Sound quality, overall construction.

Cons: Not exactly plug n play, it would be nice of they supply vehicle specific wiring color guide.

Installed in a 2015 Kia Forte Sedan, it sure is a good compliment to the aftermarket replacement of door/dash speakers. Located in the trunk passenger side 2-4" inches away from the corner. This tube adds the right amount of bass without rattling the body panels or trunk. Definitely recommend if you want that little added punch to your system.

Pros: Nice that you don't have to go through the fire wall. Using the FAST-9999 connector sure made installation a breeze, take away the need of cutting and splicing of factory wiring. Fits in small places, easily removable when you need that extra trunk space and light weight. The BTAH- wiring extension is almost 16 feet, more than enough to route wires correctly.

Cons: If your looking for a nice all wire hidden (clean install), the 30 minute installation as specified isn't happening. The complete install took almost two hours (most of the time was ensuring the wiring its correct and removing interior trim) thescrew on caps for the FAST-9999 are cheap plastic and may split while trying to pierce the factory wire. Would be nice if the BTAH- connector was more protected by a cable sleeve rather than single wraps of electrical tape every 8-10 inches.

A Bazooka believer!!!

Installed one of these in my Mitsubishi Mighty Max a few years back and still amazed at the bass I get from this tube. Located behind the passenger side about 4" from the wall, it rattles my little truck and compliments the interior speakers (musically) very well...I highly recommend this bass system, especially if you are limited on space...

Pros: Easy setup and installation--may take a little longer than 30 minutes to install for maximum stability...

Cons: None at all!!!

8" Powered Bazooka Tube

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put this unit in the trunk of my wife's '10 Malibu to add the missing bass after replacing the factory speakers with some Kenwood units. All I can say is WOW! I have underestimated this thing. Your not going to blow the windows out, but WOW! This will provide that missing thump with just the right amount of bass. I have built many complete systems, but never used one of these. I can think of two installs in the past where this unit or even a 10" would have been perfect. Installation was a breeze with the provided EZ Bass kit which was supplied in the box. That being said, don't expect to have this thing neatly tucked away in 30 min. unless your an automotive wiring ninja... but it was easy enough I'd happily use another in the future.

Pros: Right amount of bass for those who enjoy "hearing" their music. Installation was not bad at all. EVERYTHING was provided in the box. Good price.

Cons: The provided instructions were not wonderful, but manageable. Advertised as a 30 min install....not if you want it tucked away neatly.

Hardest part of the install was finding a good grounding spot! Very simple installation and the sound difference is amazing! I don't need enough bass to rattle my license plate and this won't do it, but does provide plenty of nice clean bass. My kids (12 & 15) can even enjoy their music in dad's car now.

Pros: Clean, strong bass. Easy install (unless you are color blind).

Cons: Mounting system is cheap, but it works.

Quick, easy and worth every dollar!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this Bazooka 8" amplified bass tube after seeing all the rave reviews. I ended up putting the Bazooka behind my driver's seat, in my 4-door Altima, facing the side wall/panel. I measured the Bazooka's specs with the floor area behind my driver's seat. Fits perfect and snug along the matt area with the recommended 2-4 inches from the wall. My interior is black and the bass tube matches perfect, almost like it's not there. My trunk is filled with my car's vacuum and other things. Honestly, I wanted to capture all of the sound coming from the tube and not lose any bass from the trunk. Being 41, I wanted enough bass inside my car and not wake up the neighborhood. This tube is amazing for anyone looking to add quality bass to their car without breaking the bank and dealing with amp install kits. I couldn't believe how quick and easy installation was. I used the supplied rca cables to connect to my Alpine HU subwoofer output. Trust me, this Bazooka tube is a real deal. I got one in an open box, what a bargain. I was planning on getting another one but after listening to what this one sounded like, I'm good.

Pros: Inexpensive, quality brand/image, ported for loudness, compact size, big bang for your buck.

Cons: None...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this because of the included harness . Installation is super easy took me about an hour to complete on a 2014 Kia Rio hatchback. This unit will not rattle your mirrors or the car but it will provide adequate bass to any factory radio. I listen to all kind of music and you can feel and listen to the bass but even the stock speakers can overpower this tube. I recommend this tube for someone who wants to add some extremely easy to install bass in their cars But like i wrote in the title manage your expectations with this one. I really like it but if your looking for serious bass or something to rattle you car search elsewhere.

Pros: Extremely easy to install. Small size. Adequate sound. Fits my audio needs perfectly.

Cons: The straps that comes with the kit to hold the tube are useless. Just get some bungee cords and you'll be fine.

Nice powerful bass

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I listen to heavy metal and rock music and wasn't looking to spend a fortune on subs. I just wanted to emphasis a little more power in the listening experience. This tube is a perfect fit for what I wanted. Installed in a 09 civic with a Kenwood DDX371 receiver installation was a breeze, only took about 30 mins. Hooked the power, ground, and remote turn on and hooked it up to the subwoofer output on the receiver. It hardly takes any room up in the trunk. It gives me just the right amount of bass for the type of music I listen to.

Pros: Easy install powerful bass

Cons: None so far.

Way more bass than I thought we would get. Great product.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was really impressed. We hooked it up to the low level inputs and it still had plenty of thump. You will have to tune it for some of the inputs (HD radio) where the input signal isn't that good, but I'm really impressed. I think you would have to be real techno-nerd to want more bass than this.

Pros: Great sound. Crisp, but you can dial up plenty of boom.

Cons: I'm not crazy about the mounting hardware. Not bad, but not good.

super easy to install. It took me longer to get my head unit out of the dash than it did to run the cables and install the sub. Pretty good sound for the price.

Pros: super easy install, Good sound for the price and size. I'd recommend this for anyone who just wants a little bit of depth to their audio and doesn't intend to try and shake their ride.

Cons: obviously as a small low powered sub you aren't going to get the sound that you would out of a component sub package.

I Didn't Know How Much of the Music I was Missing

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory stereo and speakers a few months back. During my research I kept reading about how much more people got when they added a sub to their car audio system. I chose the Bazooka BTA850FH based on simplicity and reviews. I'm wow'd by the improvement! You can't help but be impressed with how much richer the music is with better reproduction of the low frequencies. Installation was drama-free and took about 25 minutes from start to finish.

If you're looking for a sub that doesn't overpower everything else, this one gets the job done at a tasty price point. I'm busy re-discovering my music collection!

Pros: Simple installation

Cons: None

Perfect compliment, not a centerpiece

Written By Rob T, Enfield, CT on Monday, January 13, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Like many others, I was shopping for a subwoofer to fill out a factory sound system. I have no interest in broadcasting my music to those who don't want to listen to it. Any thumping outside of the vehicle is unacceptable. This piece filled the requirement nicely.

The factory E30 premium sound system is fairly impressive for its time, but has major drawbacks in factory woofer size (5.25") and low end. With the small footprint allowed by the factory locations, major modifications would be necessary to truly modernize the sound system. For those that are now interested in maintaining rather than modifying these increasingly rare vehicles, a self-contained system seemed to make the most sense.

Installation is truly a breeze. The only thing not included in the package is a fuse. The wire taps are simple and functional, though rather easily cross-threaded and overtightened.

Crutchfield's customer service model can't be overpraised. Everything is simple, clear, and concise.

Pros: Works as advertised. Smooth delivery, no worries about thumping or rattling. Easily installed and removed.

Cons: "Complete" kit is missing the inline fuse.

Just installed today in a 2000 Accord with factory speakers and JVC KD-R740BT. Used the low input jacks. Great enhancement for music. Sub-par to the likes of the 17 year-old driver...exactly what I wanted. Caution: it comes with cables and installation quick connects. Crutchfield had advised buying these separately, which I did and need to work that one out with them.

Pros: Clean installation, great sound enhancement.

Cons: Could possibly have a more positive connection to vehicle. Straps still allow unit to wobble, flex.

Great Buy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let me start this review by saying that Crutchfield is the greatest company ever. I have been a customer since the beginning. Now on with the review. I was looking to add some low end to the system that I have in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler. At first I wanted to avoid a sub due to space limitations in a Wrangler so I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer Elite model and I replaced all four speakers with Infinity Cappa's hoping that this would be enough. The improvement was tremendous but still missing something. I then started my search for a small powered sub. After months of research I decided on the Bazooka BTA 850FH. The installation was 20 minutes max, very easy to run wires in a Wrangler and I placed it behind the back seat. I was only hoping to gain the missing low-end and not expecting rear view mirror shake. The Pioneer HU has sub RCA's @ 4V so I used them and it also has gain adjustments as well as HPF and LPF adjustments. I decided to Max everthing out to get maximum drive and what I got was chest pounding crystal clear bass. Being a bit older this is not what I was looking for so I dialed all settings back a bit and found my sweet spot. Wow this tube sounds great and I would highly recommend it. Now keep in mind that this install was in a Jeep and placement was not in a trunk. This unit may not sound as good in a larger cabin or in a trunk. Also if I need extra space it is easily removed, two straps and one connector.

Pros: Everthing

Cons: None

I have been doing high powered audio for a long time, having systems ranging from small to over 1200 watts. My experience with Bazooka has always been positive. I put one of these in my work truck and it far outperforms what it is rated for. I also recently installed one for my dad in his 2013 Jeep Wrangler. 50 watts may seem like nothing, but these tubes are magic. It is not going to be heard a mile away, but will be heard on the next block. It hits deeper than any other 8" Ive heard.

Pros: Small, powerful and easy to install

The lack of low frequency was obvious and having been a prior Bazooka owner in a Pick-up from years past, my choice was easy. This unit was easy to install and filled the void that my system lacked. First I installed a fused link from the battery through the speedometer cable firewall gromet to the head unit to the Bazooka hot lead then the head units blue &white to the blue&white wire from the Bazooka (for remote power switch) I used the RCA connectors since my head unit supplys about 4 volts there and it drives the Bazooka quite well with the gain set at about half way and any needed tweaking can be done from the head unit. For grounding the unit I removed enough paint from the rear cab inner wall to fit a conductive star washer to the provided ground lug and drilled a hole for a self tapping screw and backing washer. The Bazooka's sound isn't overpowering but provides more than enough low end for my situation without drawing attention to itself.

Pros: The ease of install using provided quick connectors and RCA jacks.

Cons: addition of a led (power on) light would be nice.

Great Bass for Jeep

Written By Clay, Madison, MS on Wednesday, July 17, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a Jeep Wrangler 2 door. Factory system has pitiful bass with top off going down highway. This was easy to install. There is a thread at Jeep Asylum on install. It doesn't take up too much room and sounds great with the factory head unit. This is not "show off at the stop light" bass, but adds much needed depth to your music. I'm 44 years old and it is perfect for me.

Pros: Easy install w/ factory radio.

Cons: It would be nicer if the wire that fits into the unit did so more compactly.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This little sub is incredible. It is exactly what I was looking for to round out the sound in a 2006 Cadillac DTS with a Delphi factory radio. Install was about 45 minutes, and I did not have to pull the radio head. I was able to tie into the factory wiring of the GM radio's rear a power and ground lead, mount it in the trunk and done. Everything works perfect, and I am able to control the amount of bass output from the original factory radio's tone controls. The sound this little sub produces is awesome. I was not looking to rattle the trunk and shake the rear view mirror, although it will at loud volume. The bass is tight, crisp and clean. I listen to a wide variety of music from the Eagles, to modern country, to Jimmy Buffett. I am very happy with the new improved sound. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who wants to round out their factory system and add a little "punch" to the low end.

Pros: Quick easy install, everything included. Great Sound. Small footprint.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought the BTA850FH based on previous Bazooka experiences. I previously owned two 100W 8" Bazookas and lov ed every wave of sound produced by them. I installed the subwoofer in my 2013 Outlander Sport to fill out the bottom end of my factory stereo. I didn't want anything earth shattering, just enough to do the trick. The BTA850FH did just the trick! It added depth and dimension to my audio listeining experience that wasn't there with the 15W factory paper-coned speakers. If you need something that doesn't cost a lot of money and adds great depth and dimension to your listeining experience, look no further.

Pros: price, ease of installation, simplicity of use, depth of sound

Cons: long harness screws

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had just purchased a JVC KW-NT810HD a month ago and thought I wanted to go a little farther with my project. I plan on replacing most of the audio components in my 2005 Matrix eventually. Adding a subwoofer was the simplest to do first, and I figured it would have the most noticeable effect. The manual suggested splicing the speaker wiring rather than using the RCA line outputs on my headunits. I opted to try the RCA outputs first and was disappointed with the output even with the gain maxxed out. So I easily changed it over to the splice method and it made a huge difference. I definitely see why the manual made that suggestion. Overall the installation was a snap which was great. The most time is spent routing the FAST cable from the back of the car all the way up to the dash. For my car it was long enough with a little over a foot to spare at the sub with a little slack left on the head unit end. This unit is not going to wake the neighbors, but it does make the sound much richer having it. It's just enough for my taste.

Pros: Easy hook up Price Size

Cons: None

Just enough thump for an old guy

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was added new to my F150 and the factory door speakers were replaced. Now it produces full range audio! The specific model was chosen for size because it had to fit behind the PU Truck seat (regular cab). I chose to use the line outs from the HD radio for sub woofer instead of splicing into the rear speakers and it has just enough thump to suit me. Old guys don't need to rattle the windows, just a little back massage :)

Pros: compact package, great fit, does what I want!

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This bass tube is beyond simple to install! The 30 minute claim for installation is no exaggeration if you can thread the harness through the dash, instead of taking it apart. I installed this in my 2004 Silverado extended cab, and it filled in a large hole in my music. The bass won't rattle the vehicle, but it will boom. If you've never installed a sub in a car, don't fear. This one is a snap!

Pros: Easy install, affordable, plug-n-play.

Cons: None.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put this sub in my 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic ext-cab work truck for those long trips. I had already installed a HU and some speakers in the front doors, but was missing that "thump" in my music. After installing the sub my music has been filled in. I have had another Bazooka in another truck that was excellent and it delivers again. I was impressed by the ease of installation, and if I change vehicles it is easy to take out and install in another vehicle. This sub will not "wake the dead", but will add the low end of your music. I used the RCA inputs that come with the F.A.S.T. connection to tweak the bass even more through my HU.

Pros: reasonable price, excellent product, easy installation

Cons: none

Nice clear bass sound. you have to play with the gain to get it just right. Aimed into the corner of the trunk and you can feel it throughout the car. Won't blow the windows out but it will annoy the guy next to you

Pros: Easy to hook up

Cons: Unit is quite big

Awesome for the price and size!

I was blown away by the output of this unit! Don't let the power or size distract you. It fills the cab of my Chevy 2500 up nicely with good accurate bass. Only draws 7.5 amps too so power is easy to find!

Pros: Great price and small size!

Cons: No adjustable crossover. Not a big deal though.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am extremely satisfied with the product itself. It does exactly what I wanted it for all at a reasonable price. I'm a bit disappointed in the fact I wasn't able to install it myself and had to shell out an additional $132 to have it installed professionally. I've been ordering products from Crutchfield since 1994 and have always been completely satisfied with both the product and technical assistance until now. I should definitely say that it wasn't because tech support didn't try to help because they certainly did. I needed help with the wiring of this product for my 2010 GMC Acadia and they weren't able to send me wiring diagrams that helped. The ones they sent simply didn't match and they weren't able to talk me through the installation either. I finally realized I was in over my head, gave up and took it to a professional shop. The good news is that after installation, I'm more than satisfied. Ninteen years was an amazing track record with this company before finally being stumped though. Sometimes you get a tough one. I definitely will not hold this one-time glitch against the company and will not hesitate to order from them again.

Pros: Excellent product for the price, completely satisfied with its performance.

Cons: Had to have it professionally installed for an extra $132. Tech support tried but was unable to help, wiring diagrams didn't match and they couldn't talk me through the install.

I bought this for my girlfriends 2003 eclipse with the infinity factory system. Install was a breeze and this fills in the sound seamlessly. It doesn't overpower the factory system at all, but adds plenty of low deep bass to all music

Pros: If used with a factory system,or an aftermarket deck with no external amps for the misd/highs in a hatchback or truck you'll love it

Cons: In a sedan or a system with an aftermarket amp go the 100 or 200 watt

Great Sound

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was an add-on to a stock stereo. The 8"- 50 watt has more than enough power to fill out the sound. The factory radio connection kit was nice as it uses the same power for the radio so there is no need to run a separate power cable from the battery. The harness also has a set of RCA cables as well as hi level speaker inputs for flexibility.

Pros: Factory radio connection kit, awesome sound for the price, took about 1 hour to install start to finish

Cons: Determining the speakers wires on the factory radio

Awesome for Nooby Beginners

Written By Kevin, Canada on Friday, November 30, 2012

All you gotta do it google what wires to connect to behind your radio and your good to go. Took no time at all once i knew which wires to connect to what. I have a station wagon so the 8" is just right. If it was in a car i think in might need to be a bit bigger. Today i even managed to get an old guy to give me a dirty look; needless to say it made me very content in my purchase. On a side note, the car's bass tuner works on the tube so you can turn it down when you want and can leave the sub's knob on full. All in all i would definitely buy it again.

Pros: Insane for the price simple to install awesome for noobs to subs

Cons: Its a tube so it needs to be screwed down

Good Bass for the price..........

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed in Chevy Cruze, makes a great combination with Factory stereo, inside vehicle the sound is great and haven't had any rattles issues with license plate. Gave me the additional bass required to hear music clear. Also upgraded rear door speakers with Kenwoods. I really enjoy my sound system now, can put volume up to 40 and there is no distortion.

Pros: Easy to install and takes minimal space from trunck.

Cons: OEM radio did not have power antenna wire, so had to obtain ignition signal from power outlet. Installation sheet does mentioned options for connection, so no big deal. But would have reduced installation time if was prepared to have extra wire to complete splice.

Put this is my 2004 accord and thought it wasn't going to do much but I was wrong. I've had 2 JL 12" before and of course those were loud but I'm past that stage where I want everyone to hear my music so I went with these... They fill the cabin of the car with just the perfect amount of bass and doesn't distort at high levels.... People who say it doesn't rattle rear view mirrors aren't just listening to music with much bass to it cause mine does rattle.

Pros: Very easy installation.

Cons: Ground wire is too short.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed some bass to fill out my factory system in my Chevy Cruze. The bazooka does a nice job of it. It does not play super low or is it super loud, I have to turn the gain to max to get decent loudness (only 50 watts), but it does the job. I have it installed in my trunk, but it does fill out the cabin with good if somewhat boomy bass. If I had to do it again I would probably go with the 10 inch 100 watt model for louder deeper bass...I think the 8 inch 50 watt version is more suitable for trucks and hatchbacks were the unit is located directly in the cabin. I might try moving the tube from the trunk to behind the driver's seat to see if I can get a slightly better sound...but I am mostly satisfied with the product.

Pros: Ease of install.(no drilling through the firewall to connect to the battery) Decent sounding bass for the price.

Cons: Underpowered for trunk install. Included instructions not the best.

Great Sub Once Hooked Up...

Written By Phil, Santa Rosa, CA on Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I gave this 5 stars because the sub is great! However, I had trouble installing it. This may be completely my fault, but my sub did not come with the quick release jumper. Prior to realizing the solution, I was scratching my head trying to figure out why my brand new sub produced zero sound. I kept thinking I had the wrong speaker wires hooked up behind the head unit (a factory 6000CD in my 2011 Ford Transit Connect). But I had them correct. I also checked my ground and positive 12v with my meter and everything checked out just fine. After looking at the diagram and noticing that two of the terminals on the sub were for a quick release jumper, I had to wonder if that was the issue. The wire harness didn't have any leads to connect to those two terminals. I didn't want a quick release jumper anyhow, so I cut the plastic connector where the two terminals are, and made my own custom jumper and piened it to the two terminals for a solid connection. I connected the now modified wire harness and, voila, sound! Was I supposed to have this quick connector in the packaging of my sub? Was I supposed to know ahead of time to order it separately? (although I'm unsure how it would connect to the existing wire harness). In any event, I figured it out and the sub works....sounds awesome, and I can't complain :)

Pros: Sounds great considering no amp is needed

Cons: Almost flawless install

easiest install ever!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The install with the factory fast system made the install a breeze, 45 minutes and I was done. The tube itself puts out an impressive level of bass, but I think the acoustics in the 2012 chrysler 200 dampen the sounds coming from the trunk so unfortunately I really don't hear or feel much of it, but it is a substantial increase, the level is almost at full blast as well. Again this is a great product, just the acoustics in my trunk make it hard to enjoy.

Pros: small leaves a lot of space available.

Cons: none

Recieved this product today and after a couple hours I am ready to rock. Hardest part of the install was removing panels and finding a spot in my trunk to mount the brackets. Crutchfields tech support hasn't failed me yet and they always provide you with drawings to make the install easy. Bass is clean for what it is. Exactly what I was looking for ,no rearview mirror rattling but you feel the bass when it hits. I never go anywhere else when it comes to car audio/video. Thanks Crutchfield!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The advertised 30 minute install is grossly exaggerated. You may be able to install your second one in 30 minutes, but it took me a couple of hours altogether. Overall, it was a clean install and the product seems well designed and built. My son is pleased with the sound. I think it was a pretty good value as well. Recommended.

Pros: Looks good and sounds good.

Cons: Install time as advertised is a joke.

Great sound to perk up that stock system

Written By Shad0wguy, Patchogue, NY on Monday, March 26, 2012

I bought this sub in hopes of perking up the low end of my stock system, and to that effect it succeeded. I didn't want to replace the head unit in my car or I'd lose all the integrated functions in my 2012 Hyundai Accent. And being a lease I didn't want to cut up the wiring harness. This sub provided the low end I was looking for, and at only 50W I was surprised it managed that. I am constantly in awe as to the sound this thing can put out. It won't rattle your trunk like some high end setups, but it will round out your sound and give you some nice thumps given the right music.

Great little sub for the money

Written By Patman, SW Ohio on Sunday, March 25, 2012

I bought this sub from the recommendation of fellow Cruze Owners and glad I did!! The stock stereo was lacking any kind of bass output. While some people want a sub that will really pump the bass. I was looking for a nominal performance increase and this did it This sub is a great addition to the stock stereo to give it the sound it was missing and for a great price!!. Easy to install, great sound clarity and I can hear my stereo without turning the volume up to 40 +.

Pros: Small easy to install and good value for the price. Definitely recommend!

Cons: None known so far

Installed in about half an hour in my CrewMax. Connected it to my Kenwood DNX6990 HD and it seems to be a perfect fit. I don't play my musice for my neighbors so this sub gives me just enough punch to fill in what I was missing but yes you can feel it even at low volume levels. Very tight and clean. Fits well behind the rear seats....used a razor to cut a slit in carpet and fished the wires up to the center console and up the the head unit.

Pros: good fit, tight bass, easy install, easy remove

Cons: none

Great Add-on to a factory system

Written By MarkL, Nashville, TN on Saturday, March 24, 2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I don't really have much to add that hasn't already been said in the other reviews. This was installed in a 2010 Mini Cooper S and provides a perfect solution for adding bass to a factory system while not taking up too much space. The sub is not overpowering and the distortion isn't too bad. I think it is a great value and would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget friendly addition to their factory audio system.

Pros: Value. Factory wiring harness included. I purchased it and had it installed for $225!!!

Cons: None. No complaints whatsoever. Item is as advertised.

Exactly what I was looking for

Written By Dustin, Charleston, WV on Monday, March 12, 2012

This product isn't going to rattle your teeth, but, if you are looking for a reasonably priced way to fill in the bottom end of the sound spectrum in your car, this is the way to go. I have an 06 Civic Sedan that needed the stock speakers replaced. I went with a lower end set of Pioneers, that were noted in several reviews for a lack of bass, and opted to leave the factory head-unit. Overall I ended up with nice crisp sounds throughout the spectrum and just the right amount of bass to fill out the sound. Installation was a snap using the FAST set up that comes with this speaker and I was ablt to hide everything away nicely. I will note that the install time listed in the product description is a wee bit on the low side. It took about 40 minutes to install after an hour of figuring everything out. The included instructions are not good and reference steps and parts you don't need for the 50 watt unit.

Pros: Relatively easy install, FAST wiring set-up is very handy, great sound, great value

Cons: Misleading and confusing directions included in the package.

Very nice unit, took about 40 minutes start to finish. Installed in back corner of an 11 scion tc, firing into the back of the hatch. Didnt even need a dedicated power wire. Ran to the key on wire that powers the factory head unit. Produces very deep clean bass! Rivals the sound of two low powered 10's in a sealed box i once had. You wont really feel much, but the sound is there.

Pros: Great price, wire kit that was included was perfect. Clean sound, wont disturb the peace.

Cons: Strap retention kit is marginal, a flat bottom would be perfect! Not as compact length wise.
