There's nothing better than listening to your favorite tunes while having fun on the water. If you've got a wakeboard tower on your boat, think how cool it would be to have speakers mounted up there. Bazooka designed their Tubbie wakeboard speaker systems to sound great and to hold up to the harsh demands of the marine environment.

The MT-8002CH Compression Horn Tubbie wakeboard speaker system consists of two enclosures, each with a 8" woofer and 1" tweeter. The compression horn design vastly improves the enclosure's efficiency, for more usable volume all the way through the frequency spectrum. The result? These speakers throw the sound out over the water three times louder than standard Tubbies, so you'll hear the music when the engine's roaring and you're shredding wake.

Bazooka built Tubbies for life on the water, with waterproof woofer cones, aluminum dome tweeters, rubber surrounds, and weather-resistant stainless steel mounting hardware. Compression Horn Tubbies are available in white and black.

Each enclosure has an aluminum mounting plate that connects to special aluminum mounting clamps. These universal-sized clamps (sold separately) fit common tube sizes used in wakeboard towers. Don't have a wakeboard tower? The clamps can be used on any other suitable tubes or rails you may have on your boat.

Loud and clear but not so much bass

Written by: Carl M from Durham NC on September 22, 2010

I just got a pair of the white 8002's (8" 1-sided tubbie) and found them to be fairly bright with very little bass. If you really crank them they deliver a super loud and distortion free sound, though. I was surprised how loud and clear they were. They do have a little punch at that volume level (over 90db) but if you just want some background music, these sound pretty tinny because they highs are a lot louder than the bass.

I wanted to use these as patio speakers but they won't do in that setting. If you're on a boat and there is a lot of noise, and you crank these really loud, I think they'd work. But compared to other outdoor speakers these are not well suited to low volume listening...
