Our take on the Bazooka RBCM-RS

The RBCM-RS remote control module is compatible with RS series powered Bazooka Bass Tubes whose model numbers end with the letters "HP," as well as models BTA1020, BTA6200, and BTA8200. The included cable (16 feet, 4 inches long) has a 6-pin connector on each end — one end plugs into the module, while the other end plugs into the 6-pin plug found on the compatible tubes.

The module has one knob which controls the amp's gain setting, and a second knob which selects the crossover point (50-120 Hz).

Features

Compatibility: This unit is compatible with items 204RS6AHP, 204RS8AHP, 204RS10AHP, 204SM8AHP, 204SM10AHP, 204BT1020, 204BTA6200, 204BTA8200, and 204MBTA8200.

Cable: The provided cable has a six pin connector on each end. One end plugs into the back of the module and the other end connects to the 6-pin plug found on compatible RS series amplified tubes. The cable is 16 feet, 4 inches long.

Note: The cable looks like a standard phone cord but does not have the same number of pins.

Operation: This unit has two knobs. One is used to remotely control the amp (gain) setting. The other knob is used for the crossover. You can select a crossover point from 50-120Hz.

A Disappointment

In theory this should be a good product. Having an adjustable volume and crossover for your amplified Bazooka at your fingertips while your subwoofer resides in your trunk is a great idea. However getting one that works correctly seems to be a problem. I've had two so far. The volome control works fine although it reduces the volume of the tube when connected. The problem that I keep having is that the adjustable crossover on the remote does not adjust the crossover level at the tube at all. For this price the product should work correctly the first time.
