About the Kicker KX2
Kicker's KX2 electronic crossover is designed for 2-way systems (in which highs and lows are amplified separately). You can adjust the high- and low-pass crossovers from 40 to 300 Hz (18 dB per octave) to maximize the performance of your separate components. The crossover accepts both preamp- and speaker-level inputs, and output can be adjusted up to 5 volts for low system noise.
Important Note: This unit has no built-in amplifier must be used in conjunction with one or more external amplifiers.

Features
Overview: The KX2 is an active 2-way electronic crossover. You can independently adjust the high- and low-pass crossovers from 40 to 300 Hz. Each crossover has a slope of 18 dB per octave. The KX2 accepts both preamp- and speaker-level inputs, and output can be adjusted up to 5 volts for low system noise.
Note: Since the KX2 does not have a built-in amplifier, it must be used in conjunction with one or more external amplifiers.

I added this to replace stock rear deck speakers in an 2001 Audi A4. With the high level inputs and seperate gain controls this split the signal for the amp for the rear deck speakers and also a powered sub I put in the trunk. Like I said, It works like it should.
