Kicker technology at work
Each Comp sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone with 360-degree back bracing for hard-hitting lows without distortion. The ribbed foam surround offers long excursion and keeps the cone on target, while double stitching ensures your investment won't come apart at the seams. A tough steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and its extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Easy to add to nearly any setup
Kicker's 10C104 10" subwoofer handles up to 150 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing, and its 4-ohm impedance makes it compatible with just about every amplifier on the market. This versatile sub works well in sealed or ported enclosures, and it's even suitable for free-air applications.

Enclosure Compatibility

Subwoofer Features

Polypropylene Cone: The Kicker Comp subwoofer's super-rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone features 360-degree back bracing to completely eliminate flex and distortion.

Ribbed Foam Surround: The optimized ribbed foam surround allows extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. The surround is double-stitched to the cone to add a mechanical fastener to the chemical adhesives. This prevents the cone and surround from separating in the harshest conditions.

Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features durable Spiralead tinsel leads, which are woven into the woofer's progressive-roll polycotton spider, for added strength and reliability.

Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features a resilient, steel basket with coil-cooling perimeter venting and a vented pole piece for heat dissipation, so the high-temperature voice coil stays cool.

Speaker Terminals: The spring-loaded, nickel-plated terminals provide solid connections for speaker wire up to 10-gauge. Single banana plugs and pin connectors will also fit.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation.

Enclosure Compatibility

Enclosure Versatility: The Kicker Comp subwoofer is versatile, performing in vented or sealed enclosures, and in free-air applications as well.

Sealed Enclosure Applications: A sealed enclosure design gives the smoothest response with increased energy at the lowest frequency between 20 to 30 Hz.

  • Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 1.0 cu/ft
  • SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 2.4 cu/ft

Recommended Vented Box Volume: A vented enclosure design is the choice for loud, high-performance bass for SPL contests.

  • Compact: 1.25 cu/ft with a 1.5" x 10.5" slot port opening that is 14.5" in depth
  • SQ: 1.75 cu/ft with a 1.5" x 10.5" slot port opening that is 13.25" in depth

Note: The SQ enclosures generates a flatter response curve and extends sub-bass response.

Infinite Baffle Mounting: The Kicker Comp subwoofer does not require a sealed or vented enclosure for good bass performance. The Comp subwoofer is designed to also be used as a free-air driver. The infinite baffle mounting method effectively utilizes the rear deck and trunk space of most sedan type vehicles.

Q
Has anyone hooked up two of these to a kicker cx300.1 amp? I have it all but haven't hooked it up yet and am wondering if it's going to be a large enough amp
jordan  Jan 09, 2016

A
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 120 and 225 watts RMS--if you double that same recommendation for 2 of these subs, you'd want an amp rated between 240 and 450 watts RMS x 1 at 2-ohm which the Kicker CX300.1 amp falls nicely in between.

Q
Will this sub sound OK in a .60cu ft box? If not what should I do to make it sound better?
steve  Nov 04, 2015

A
This sub is optimal in a smaller box, even sold in other places already in wedge boxes. The 10" kicker comp is great for when you want to pack a big sound in a small place!

Q
I have 2 10" kicker comps in s ported enclosure being pushed by a 600 w 4 channel sony xplod amp. Is that enough power to push each sub on individual channel or should i consider different wiring scheme to achieve the most out of both?
brian  Jun 23, 2014

A
Is that 600 watt rms? If so, you only need 1 channel per sub. They are 150 rms each and should be pushed with atleast that much. Maybe wire the other 2 channels to some 3-way speakers...if the amp is 600 max, then you may have to put 2 channels to each sub, figure the rms per channel and get as close to 150 per sub as possible. Hope this helps
michael  Jun 25, 2014
A
Yes. That should be plenty of power to make them sound good.

Q
I know it says it is a 10" speaker but does that 10" include the metal rim around it?
dan  Apr 20, 2014

A
Yes, the rim where you put the screws to hold it down is included.
hunter s.  Apr 21, 2014
A
The metal rim will be on any sub. It fits a 10" opening perfect and is probably the best sub for the price. The metal rim is what you screw into the rim of the boxes opening

Yes
