Kicker

Our take on the Kicker 10C124

Strong bass adds a whole new dimension to your car's sound system, and Kicker Comp subwoofers give you tremendous bass value for your dollar. You'll hear and feel the power of Kicker bass without feeling like your wallet just got thumped.

Kicker technology at work
Each Comp sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone with 360-degree back bracing for hard-hitting lows without distortion. The ribbed foam surround offers long excursion and keeps the cone on target, while double stitching ensures your investment won't come apart at the seams. A tough steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and its extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Easy to add to nearly any setup
Kicker's 10C124 12" subwoofer handles up to 150 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing, and its 4-ohm impedance makes it compatible with just about every amplifier on the market. This versatile sub works well in sealed or ported enclosures, and it's even suitable for free-air applications.

Team this sub with a Kicker amp and save
Take away the worry of picking the right amp for your sub. This Kicker bass package adds a DX250.1 amp to a pair of these subs, while this bass package combines the DX250.1 with a single sub.

Highlights:

  • 12" 4-ohm subwoofer

Subwoofer Features
Enclosure Compatibility

Subwoofer Features

Polypropylene Cone: The Kicker Comp subwoofer's super-rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone features 360-degree back bracing to completely eliminate flex and distortion.

Ribbed Foam Surround: The optimized ribbed foam surround allows extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. The surround is double-stitched to the cone to add a mechanical fastener to the chemical adhesives. This prevents the cone and surround from separating in the harshest conditions.

Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features durable Spiralead tinsel leads, which are woven into the woofer's progressive-roll polycotton spider, for added strength and reliability.

Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features a resilient, steel basket with coil-cooling perimeter venting and a vented pole piece for heat dissipation, so the high-temperature voice coil stays cool.

Speaker Terminals: The spring-loaded, nickel-plated terminals provide solid connections for speaker wire up to 10-gauge. Single banana plugs and pin connectors will also fit.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation.

Enclosure Compatibility

Enclosure Versatility: The Kicker Comp subwoofer is versatile, performing in vented or sealed enclosures, and in free-air applications as well.

Sealed Enclosure Applications: A sealed enclosure design gives the smoothest response with increased energy at the lowest frequency between 20 to 30 Hz.

  • Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 1.25 cu/ft
  • SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 3.5 cu/ft

Recommended Vented Box Volume: A vented enclosure design is the choice for loud, high-performance bass for SPL contests.

  • Compact: 1.75 cu/ft with a 2.0" x 12.5" slot port opening that is 16.0" in depth
  • SQ: 2.25 cu/ft with a 2.0" x 12.5" slot port opening that is 16.375" in depth

Note: The SQ enclosures generates a flatter response curve and extends sub-bass response.

Infinite Baffle Mounting: The Kicker Comp subwoofer does not require a sealed or vented enclosure for good bass performance. The Comp subwoofer is designed to also be used as a free-air driver. The infinite baffle mounting method effectively utilizes the rear deck and trunk space of most sedan type vehicles.

They'regreat. I got the 12" subs and next time I'll get two 15"s to go with the 12"s. Amp to 6 3/4"s and Kenwood to subs. Quarter on the roof bounces 6" with volume on 32. I'm sure I'll get another sound ordinance ticket. Rob

Excellent Subwoofers!

Written By Ed, West Palm Beach, FL on Friday, January 07, 2011

These Subwoofers are really incredible! I have 2 of these in a un-ported box, and I'm running these with a 1200watt mono Amp and they hit VERY hard in any type of music I throw at it: from Classic rock, Metal, or Rap they can handle all of it.

I always give up before the subs do (pushing to the limit that is).

Great value, great construction, what more could you ask for?

Get these!

This is quite the solid sounding sub! I have it hooked up to the Rockford
Fosgate Prime R250-1 amp and installed in the Sound Ordnance BB125S
Single 12" Sealed Box. Between both the amp and sub the sound is very
punchy with great lows even with it connected to the factory head unit in my 06
Vibe. I originally bought this sub when the buy one get one free deal was going
on. I just ordered a second Prime R250-1 amp for my 06 Grand Prix to install
the second sub in. Just some advice from past experiences if you are installing
a sub in your trunk I'd highly recommend purchasing foam baffles for your rear
deck speakers. The pressure from the sub tends to put too much pressure on
them making them sound like they are distorting. Between the sub itself and
the amp I'm very pleased.

You Wont Believe This

Written By Rudy, Greensboro, NC on Sunday, January 02, 2011

I have 2 comp 12's and using them for a different reason. I'm using them in my home theater system. I have a pair of JBL L100T's and the woofers are blown. I really wanted to replace the woofers with some JBL subs, buy I couldn't pass up this deal. Since I own a Compvr 15 in my truck and had a comp 10 before, I knew what kicker could do. I'm using a NAD 2155 power amp pushing the comp 12's, I have the amp switched to 4 ohms. Let me say this, I took it easy the first week. These Comp 12's are really impressive. However I do think that the JBL cabinet has alot to do with the way these subs sound, but man, these Kicker Comp's are really doing the job. I mean I shake the whole house. Watching a movie or tv is a real treat.

Great Pound-for-Pound Sub

Written By ALBEEZEEE, Atlanta, Ga on Friday, July 30, 2010

I purchased two of these Kicker subs for my Nissan Altima and I was thoroughly impressed. I consider myself a bass junkie, however I am in college so price was a key factor to my decision to buy these subs. They are powered by a garbage amp that I paid $80 for yet they crammed. DON'T expect these subs to implode your chest, however they can set off alarms (I do that for fun to my friends Maxima.) I am getting two more for my car and I don't regret purchasing these subs at all.

AWESOME!!!!!

Written By RobW, Kent County, DE on Sunday, December 26, 2010

Kicker Comp subs are BY FAR the best entry level sub out there. Some years back, I had
two 12" 8ohm Kicker Comps in a large sealed box (2.0 cu. ft. per sub) powered by a
bridged Rockford Fosgate Punch 400s two channel amp in a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme
2 door. The subs were wired in parallel to the amp. THE BASS WAS UNREAL!!!!!! I could
EASILY set off car alarms with just 400 watts going to them!!!!!!! The trick to make Comps
sound good is to put them in medium to large-sized boxes (sealed OR ported) and
DON'T OVERPOWER THEM!!!!!!!!! 150 - 200 watts per sub is ALL THATS NEEDED!!!!! If
you have more power, then purchase the Kicker CompVR subs! If you follow this advice
(and have the space) you will be VERY happy!!!! Plus a smaller wattage amplifier will be
less of a drain on your car's electrical system (i had a normal battery and one non-digital
1 farad capacitor).
