Strong bass adds a whole new dimension to your car's sound system, and Kicker Comp subwoofers give you tremendous bass value for your dollar. You'll hear and feel the power of Kicker bass without feeling like your wallet just got thumped.

Kicker technology at work
Each Comp sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone with 360-degree back bracing for hard-hitting lows without distortion. The ribbed foam surround offers long excursion and keeps the cone on target, while double stitching ensures your investment won't come apart at the seams. A tough steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and its extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

Easy to add to nearly any setup
Kicker's 10C124 12" subwoofer handles up to 150 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing, and its 4-ohm impedance makes it compatible with just about every amplifier on the market. This versatile sub works well in sealed or ported enclosures, and it's even suitable for free-air applications.

Team this sub with a Kicker amp and save
Take away the worry of picking the right amp for your sub. This Kicker bass package adds a DX250.1 amp to a pair of these subs, while this bass package combines the DX250.1 with a single sub.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 120 and 225 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

I ordered these speakers as part of the kit that comes with the Kicker amp. I don't listen to a lot of bass heavy music but wanted to be able to keep my music clean at higher volumes and take the strain off my door speakers. As soon as the install was done and I turned on my stereo, I was very pleased with the results. These speakers along with the amp give the exact result I was looking for.

The Sub does a GREAT job!

Justin from Fort Worth, TX on 2/10/2014

I had to custom built a box for the 12" to fit behind the middle fold down armrest in my '07 single cab GMC Sierra. The box is waaaay undersized for providing the best performance for the speaker. But as the manual said, the speaker would perform well in a sealed or ported box, and add on top of that, me having to put it in a very compact box, its definitely true! I power it with a mono Kenwood KAC-5001PS amp, with the sub mounted in a sealed box. The sub does a great job and provides plenty of thump and even decent low end, providing the box is built extremely smaller than the recommended specs! I gave it 5 stars on everything because for the price, it does everything it needs to do! Its a good value because of the price, the sound quality exceeds what I expected even with the substantially smaller box that I had to mount it in, the quick connect terminals on the back make it easy to conenct, the double yellow stiching around the outside of the cone, the ridgidity of the cone design, as well as the KICKER name, give it all the coolness factor that it needs. And with what ive put it thourgh the past week, so far the build quality is right on as well!

Pros: For the price, it does everything it needs to do, from looking good to sounding good.

Cons: None to speak of

You can't beat kickers!

I bought two of these kickers and have them powered by a Kicker 250.01 amp and they sound unbelievable! The bass is thick and sounds great! They are so cool,if you look from the side you can see the sound waves!{AWESOME!} I've always been told that kicker is "top of the line sound quality" and that statement is 100% true!

Pros: Best money I ever spent!

Cons: NONE

Within my 1st week my subordinace amp went out and also they sent me a blown sub. They were over priced. The sound quality sucks. If your look for a boomy distorted sub these are what you want. If your looking for quality keep looking. You get what you pay for so dont be cheap learn from my mistakes dont pay for these.

Pros: They look cool and there easy to move from out the car.

Cons: There over priced. The sound distorted after you turn the volume up half way.

Legitimately the best bang for your buck.

Pros: Affordable. Good sound for the money.

Bought this for my son's Hyundai Tucson upon recommendation of the Crutchfield sales rep. WOW! There is only one and it fills the vehicle with bass. Hooked it up to a Kenwood stereo and amp ( also Crutchfields recommendation ) I made my own box after doing some research about the optimal size. ( found on Crutchfields website ) No regrets!

Its Kicker Comp. Enough! I have 2 of these under rear seat of 09 sierra in a box about 2.5cuft. They have great sound and when I want them to hit low and hard they do not disappoint.

Pros: Hard hitting sub. Easy install

Cons: None

Good sub for price

JM from Springfield, Il on 1/2/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good sub. Purchased for first time sub owner(not myself). Purchased open box with open box b amp and both were a pretty good deal. Hits hard, hits pretty clear, even in a box not designed for it with an amp that was bottom line as well. (Blau bottom line bridged). I hooked it up to a clearer amp and was about the same. Again this is not a DD sub. It's not a Focal. But you aren't paying several hundred for it either. For added bass in the trunk on a standard system, pretty good deal.

Pros: Good value

Cons: Good value

Serious BOOM for your buck

BradC. from Santa Rosa, CA on 12/19/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used two of these bad boys in a ported box for over a year and a half trouble free, they will give you SERIOUS bass, i fed them with an Alpine MRP-M500 and they rattled everything, some tracks felt like a punch to the ribcage. however if you are looking for accurate high quality sound these are not for you. if you want to show off how loud your system is without spend serious cash these are the way to go.

Pros: great value, durable

Cons: sound quality

The way buying a sub-woofer should be!

Dave from Yucaipa, Ca on 6/6/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I saw these subs on here for this price and after reading all the positive reviews I had to pick some up. I went ahead and bought four of them, I'm only using two in my car right now but they sound GREAT. Honestly they're the best speakers in my system and I can't believe that people could possibly ever need more than 150 rms. These suckers shake my car and produce some insane bass especially if you have more than one. I gave the other two I had to a buddy of mine and he's loving them too. PLEASE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS DEAL, a subwoofer like this costing this much is crazy and it can't last that long.

Pros: Great sound, Realistic cost (Company probably has low profit margin for these speakers) Look cool, and never stop.

Cons: I think these subs have a little trouble hitting extremely low frequencies and making them stand out as much as the other notes in the song, but it's an extremely low frequency and I've never noticed in in actual music.

Awesome!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased two of the Kicker Comp 12 4 ohm speakers about a month ago and installed them into a sealed enclosure measuring 1.26 cubic feet per speaker. I am powering them with a Polk Audio PA880 mono amp and they sound awesome. It's pushing 500rms to the two bridged Kickers and I have the lpf set at 90hz. I was able to purchase the Kickers at a discount which made the deal that much sweeter. Crutchfield kept me up to date from purchase to delivery. And shipping was ultra quick. I would definitely recommend this company and this product. For an entry level speaker they can handle the power and pack a solid punch.

Pros: Great build quality and sound for the price.

Cons: None!

great price for this sub sounds great deep bass and travels through you even at low volumes with little power used i have it driven by a punch 45 amp bridged didn't think it would be enough amp to push it but still sounds great i would love to hear it with more power.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I went from 2 12" Pioneer Subwoofers to the Kicker 10C124 Competition Subwoofer, and let me tell you...what a difference! Granted I have preferred using Pioneer brand stereo products because I was always told that Pioneer is a quality brand, but I decided to take a risk and purchase 2 12" Kicker Competiton Subwoofers and I am glad I took the risk. I noticed that these subwoofers definitely hit not only harder, but they give a deeper tone to lower bass notes, and have a better capability to hit higher bass notes as well. For the price that you pay for these subwoofers, you are definitely getting a great deal out of these subwoofers. I plan on using more Kicker brand stereo products in the future. I also plan on using crutchfield.com for all of my audio equipment needs, by far crutchfield.com has the best quality assurance and free shipping.

Pros: Capability to hit various bass lines Lightweight and sleek look.

Cons: None!

10C 124 Kicker 12" Subwoofer (4 ohm SVC)

Sherman from Houston, TX on 4/5/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've always liked the sound of Kicker's subwoofers. I replaced a perfectly good subwoofer simply because I knew that it wasn't a Kicker, and that I was not experiencing the tight, accurate ambiance of a subwoofer that really hits hard in a sealed box! With Kicker--no more compromises! In my opinion, Kicker is the top-of-the-line subwoofer !!

Pros: The appearance, the construction, the compatibility with various sizes of sealed boxes, all the way from 1.25 cubic feet to 3.5 cubic feet, and the incredible sound quality and hard-hitting performance !

Cons: None !

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great sound! Unlike most subs kicker gives theirs a more detailed molded design. Currently just have 1 of these in my single cab silverado and its all the bass you need! However its excursion isn't as incredible under camera or in person like other subs I have saw. But performance is fenominal!

Pros: Looks, and Sound. Simple set up and the spring loaded connectors are great!

Cons: Little Excursion compared to other subs at the same price

Kicker Comp 12, amazing subwoofer for the price!

RyanM from Bellingham, WA on 2/21/2012

I went from a 12" Alpine Type-R to this 12" Kicker. Yes, the alpine is a better subwoofer but for my smaller car (2000 Audi S4), this subwoofer actually sounds better. Since I dont need it very loud, its perfect. It hits all the frequencies very well and I am very pleased. With the right amp and the right box, this will sound great. I recommend this to anyone with a smaller 4-door sedan or a smaller car. Don't go too big unless you are trying to set off car alarms!

Pros: Sound quality, look, price, ease of use

Cons: Could be a little more heavy duty speaker

Best i ever bought!

Awesome Sub!

AdamH from Rockford,IL on 4/5/2011

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is quite the solid sounding sub! I have it hooked up to the Rockford Fosgate Prime R250-1 amp and installed in the Sound Ordnance BB125S Single 12" Sealed Box. Between both the amp and sub the sound is very punchy with great lows even with it connected to the factory head unit in my 06 Vibe. I originally bought this sub when the buy one get one free deal was going on. I just ordered a second Prime R250-1 amp for my 06 Grand Prix to install the second sub in. Just some advice from past experiences if you are installing a sub in your trunk I'd highly recommend purchasing foam baffles for your rear deck speakers. The pressure from the sub tends to put too much pressure on them making them sound like they are distorting. Between the sub itself and the amp I'm very pleased.

Excellent Subwoofers!

Ed from West Palm Beach, FL on 1/7/2011

These Subwoofers are really incredible! I have 2 of these in a un-ported box, and I'm running these with a 1200watt mono Amp and they hit VERY hard in any type of music I throw at it: from Classic rock, Metal, or Rap they can handle all of it. I always give up before the subs do (pushing to the limit that is). Great value, great construction, what more could you ask for? Get these!

Rudy from Greensboro, NC on 1/2/2011

I have 2 comp 12's and using them for a different reason. I'm using them in my home theater system. I have a pair of JBL L100T's and the woofers are blown. I really wanted to replace the woofers with some JBL subs, buy I couldn't pass up this deal. Since I own a Compvr 15 in my truck and had a comp 10 before, I knew what kicker could do. I'm using a NAD 2155 power amp pushing the comp 12's, I have the amp switched to 4 ohms. Let me say this, I took it easy the first week. These Comp 12's are really impressive. However I do think that the JBL cabinet has alot to do with the way these subs sound, but man, these Kicker Comp's are really doing the job. I mean I shake the whole house. Watching a movie or tv is a real treat.

Pros:

Cons:

AWESOME!!!!!

RobW from Kent County, DE on 12/26/2010

Kicker Comp subs are BY FAR the best entry level sub out there. Some years back, I had two 12" 8ohm Kicker Comps in a large sealed box (2.0 cu. ft. per sub) powered by a bridged Rockford Fosgate Punch 400s two channel amp in a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door. The subs were wired in parallel to the amp. THE BASS WAS UNREAL!!!!!! I could EASILY set off car alarms with just 400 watts going to them!!!!!!! The trick to make Comps sound good is to put them in medium to large-sized boxes (sealed OR ported) and DON'T OVERPOWER THEM!!!!!!!!! 150 - 200 watts per sub is ALL THATS NEEDED!!!!! If you have more power, then purchase the Kicker CompVR subs! If you follow this advice (and have the space) you will be VERY happy!!!! Plus a smaller wattage amplifier will be less of a drain on your car's electrical system (i had a normal battery and one non-digital 1 farad capacitor).

Pros:

Cons:

Don't pay full price for these.

patches from USA on 12/8/2010

Pros: If you can get them on a deal they can be called a good value. At medium to medium high volume they decently musical and roll and hit equally well. They tend to sound nice and clear with the right amount of power. I listen to everything from speed metal to gangsta rap and they sound pretty good for all of it. Cons: They only handle 150w rms, and they break up quickly when pushed too hard. with that kind of power handling they're only going to get so loud. I consider this price too much for these.

Pros:

Cons:

Good, but dead.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these from crutchfield. How could i not? Any ways they were sick. Single voice coil yet they killed it in my sealed box. I have a 2010 chevy colorado extended cab. And belive me my girl used to complain and cry for me to turn it down. (i admitt they were a little over powered with a Alpine 1000) But i didnt play them to the point where they were blowing themselves up. And one day i just kept smelling box. Anyone who has a sealed new box knows the smell of "box". So i disregarded it. The next thing i know im hitting them about half their normal capacity. And the foam lining around the subs litterally ripped, a good 3 inches. Good subs. Really clean. Light weight, and will explode (litterally) if you dont tend to the whole 300 watt rms or whatever it is.

ALBEEZEEE from Atlanta, Ga on 7/30/2010

I purchased two of these Kicker subs for my Nissan Altima and I was thoroughly impressed. I consider myself a bass junkie, however I am in college so price was a key factor to my decision to buy these subs. They are powered by a garbage amp that I paid $80 for yet they crammed. DON'T expect these subs to implode your chest, however they can set off alarms (I do that for fun to my friends Maxima.) I am getting two more for my car and I don't regret purchasing these subs at all.

Subwoofer Features
Enclosure Compatibility

Subwoofer Features

Polypropylene Cone: The Kicker Comp subwoofer's super-rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone features 360-degree back bracing to completely eliminate flex and distortion.

Ribbed Foam Surround: The optimized ribbed foam surround allows extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. The surround is double-stitched to the cone to add a mechanical fastener to the chemical adhesives. This prevents the cone and surround from separating in the harshest conditions.

Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features durable Spiralead tinsel leads, which are woven into the woofer's progressive-roll polycotton spider, for added strength and reliability.

Steel Basket with Vented Pole Piece: The Kicker Comp subwoofer features a resilient, steel basket with coil-cooling perimeter venting and a vented pole piece for heat dissipation, so the high-temperature voice coil stays cool.

Speaker Terminals: The spring-loaded, nickel-plated terminals provide solid connections for speaker wire up to 10-gauge. Single banana plugs and pin connectors will also fit.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation.

Enclosure Compatibility

Enclosure Versatility: The Kicker Comp subwoofer is versatile, performing in vented or sealed enclosures, and in free-air applications as well.

Sealed Enclosure Applications: A sealed enclosure design gives the smoothest response with increased energy at the lowest frequency between 20 to 30 Hz.

  • Compact (minimum enclosure volume): 1.25 cu/ft
  • SQ (maximum enclosure volume): 3.5 cu/ft

Recommended Vented Box Volume: A vented enclosure design is the choice for loud, high-performance bass for SPL contests.

  • Compact: 1.75 cu/ft with a 2.0" x 12.5" slot port opening that is 16.0" in depth
  • SQ: 2.25 cu/ft with a 2.0" x 12.5" slot port opening that is 16.375" in depth

Note: The SQ enclosures generates a flatter response curve and extends sub-bass response.

Infinite Baffle Mounting: The Kicker Comp subwoofer does not require a sealed or vented enclosure for good bass performance. The Comp subwoofer is designed to also be used as a free-air driver. The infinite baffle mounting method effectively utilizes the rear deck and trunk space of most sedan type vehicles.

Sure. The amp is rated to provide 150 watts RMS x 2 at 4 Ohms and the subs are 4Ohms and rated to handle up to 150 watts each. I hope that helps. My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5 [ Ryan  Jun 17, 2016 ]  Staff
Its peak power is 300 watts. Its top RMS watts is 150 and that is the most we recommend giving it. I hope this helps! My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101 [ Paul  Jun 14, 2016 ]  Staff
I have my low pass filter set around 75hz on this sub and my amp gain a little past half. Subs will let you know when they are being driven past their design limit. First get everything else about your system dialed in before you even turn on the sub. Then find out how loud you can drive the system before it distorts. Next set your sub amp gain to zero, and turn it on. Then turn your head unit up to the loudest setting without clipping distortion, and adjust your sub gain to match. You will find there is a sweet spot where the sub will be thumping the hardest. If you continue past this point your sub will actually start to loose it's full thump. That's when you are beginning to overdrive it, and continuous overdriving will cause damage. Set it where the thump feels or sounds hardest and not beyond. [ DAVID L  Jan 13, 2015 ]
I have my amp gain at half give or take a little. On the head unit i have subwoofer output at about half give or take depends on type of music I'm listening to which is usually country so it's normally at half. Then on my bass level on the head unit it's between half an maxed out. I also have treble turn up above half to. But it's safe to say that most likely as long as you're amp is around half you shouldn't hurt the subwoofer no matter the settings on the head unit unless it's way over the power rating for the subwoofer it's self, it will just cause the cleanliness of the bass to not be as clean but do what I did play with it until it suits you with highs and lows, what size amp are u running and how big or small your box is will have a lot to do with the cleanliness of the sound also. Another thing I done was I doubled up my speaker wire so that the power would travel easier which might also help with cleanliness factor this is to be done from amp all the way to speakers not just to the box. Free air means you can mount the sub woofer so that the magnet side is pointing out of the box. Most sub woofers require the pressure of being in a box to work properly, Free air ones do not. [ EVAN  Oct 25, 2014 ]

This will depend largely on your vehicle (and the available space). For details on choosing a box please contact an Advisor by phone or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need. [ Jeff  Dec 27, 2013 ]  Staff
