About the Kicker 10TC104

John Pollard

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 10TC104 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 10" subwoofer behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged ported box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy.

Hard-hitting Comp sub

The 10" Comp sub features a stiff injection-molded polymineral cone supported by a double-stitched ribbed foam surround for deep excursion. Kicker's back-braced cone design keeps the woofer stable during those hard hits, while the perimeter venting system helps cool the sub's internal parts during demanding performances. A strong steel basket provides a stable foundation that won't flex during hard use.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy 3/4" medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and the special-design side port delivers more bass without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 4-ohm impedance allows compatibility with a wide range of amplifiers.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, or bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 40TC104 enclosure uses one 4Ω, 10" Comp subwoofer.

  • Ribbed Surround: The optimized ribbed foam surround allows extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL. The surround is double-stitched to the cone to add a mechanical fastener to the chemical adhesives; this prevents the cone and surround from separating in the harshest conditions.
  • Spiralead Tinsel Leads: The durable Spiralead tinsel leads are woven into the woofer's spider, for added strength and reliability.
  • Vented Pole Piece: The steel basket's vented pole piece and Kicker's perimeter venting slots contribute to the woofers' efficient cooling and durability.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker Comp speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater bass extension.

Q
I am looking to purchase both this speaker and a Kicker 43CXA300.1 amplifier.... will this combination work together in my 1997 Ford F150?

I bought the Kicker 10TC104 Sub along with Sound Ordnance M-1350. The Kicker amp you are looking at seems to have a lot of power. Unless you are running an amp to power your other speakers you will drown out the sound with that much bass and you run the risk of blowing the sub. My Sound Ordnance M-1350 is adjustable with a knob I have installed on the lower part of my dash and I have it set to half way. And even with aftermarket front speakers it can drown them out. Hope this helps.

The amp and the speaker is a great match. However, I do not own an F-150 so i cannot comment on fitment.

A
Yes, this subwoofer requires an amplifier that produces roughly 100-200 watts RMS at 4-ohm in order to drive it at optimal performance. The Kicker CXA300.1 amp would be a good option as an example: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_206CXA3001/Kicker-43CXA300-1.html?tp=35834 If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to an expert Advisor via the "Contact Us" link at the top of our webpage. I hope that helps.

Blake, i bought this for a very similar reason. I did not want the trunk rattle or to let everyone know i had a sub in my car from two blocks over. I have a 97 honda civic two door HX and this provides ample bass running off a Sound Ordnance M1350 350W x 1 at 2 Ohms Car Amplifier. I believe it would be a good purchase if you are not looking for super bass but does Kick if you ask it to. Hope this helps Cheers
